The most pivotal decision that I've made around money is learning how to make money instead of learning just how to save money. Because I did the math pretty quick when I got out of engineering school and I got my first paycheck. You know, I had an $80,000 a year salary. Half of the money was gone immediately to Social Security and 401(k) and taxes. And then paired with the living expenses, I knew I was never going to be able to save my way into the wealth that I wanted to create. I had to learn how to go out and make it. I had to learn how to go create the wealth that I wanted to create because working at my 9 to 5 job with no tax strategies and no control over my income was never going to allow me to get there.
