Hannah Hammond argues that retirement planning becomes pointless in a post-scarcity world driven by AI and automation within 10-20 years. When labor is free and goods ultra-abundant, power replaces money as currency. The path through the volatile transition: learn AI tools now, follow research, use ChatGPT daily, and integrate automation into your work to profit from what's coming.
One like side recommendation I have is like, don't worry about like squirreling money away for retirement in like 10 or 20 years. It won't matter.
Either, either we're not going to be here or it's, it's, you, you won't need to save for retirement. If any of the things that we've said are true, saving for retirement will be irrelevant. The services will be there to support you. You'll have the home, you'll have the healthcare, you'll have the entertainment.
Crazy. I can't even imagine. Well, I can, but can you imagine a world where scarcity was no longer a thing, where we could work for fun because we enjoyed it. Choosing to work would be like choosing to plant your own vegetables versus going to the store and buying vegetables, because there will be that much abundance, because labor will be almost free. And so the cost of goods is gonna come down so much because labor's at our fingertips infinitely that works around the clock for just power. And he thinks that power will become the new currency and there'll be ultra abundance of wealth for the entire world in 10 to 20 years. That's crazy. But it doesn't mean you just quit today because I feel like it's gonna be pretty volatile until we get there. And so lean into AI, learn the tools, learn the systems, stay on top of the research, sign up for your Substacks, have ChatGPT send you daily reminders of the new AI tools and news that is out every single day. Implement it into your career, implement it into your business, and remember, it's not going away. So there's no sense in resisting it because we gotta ride the wave. We have to lean into AI and we have to use it so we can profit from it and have more abundance from it instead of get swept away by it. Because a lot of people unfortunately are going to get swept away by it in the meantime until there is this massive, beautiful, hopefully one day abundance.
