Heather Aardema walks through Will Murray's framework: say no to things that don't align with your purpose, yes to those that do. She asks what makes life worth living, whether you're pushed by the past or pulled by the future, and suggests journaling to clarify your intent and thicken your life story.

Hello, everybody. Welcome to today's Boost. So many of us are running around fast and furious that we forget to slow down, pause, and ask ourselves, is this really what we want out of life? A famous motivational speaker, Will Murray, came up with a construct that I really, really like. No. No. Yes. Know your intent or purpose. Say no to anything that does not align to it, and say yes to everything that does. But what if you don't know your intent or your purpose? There are a couple questions that you should ask yourself. What makes life worth living? Are you being pushed by the past or pulled by the future? Are you becoming a better version of yourself? And my personal favorite, how can you thicken the plot of your own life story? Those questions are incredibly powerful. So dive into them. Think about them. Journal around them. There is so much power in narrative. What is the story that you want to create for yourself? Do you want to be a fit, fun, active person that's playing with your grandkids? Then do it. Focus on that story and the goals you have for your body will follow. Take care.
