Hi, everybody. Welcome to today's Boost. I was the girl that got sweaty in gym class. For real? I know nobody gets sweaty in gym class, but I did. I was so competitive and I loved sports. That I did. What about you? Are you a fan of exercise? When you think of exercise, do you think of it as a privilege, I get to exercise, or do you think of it more as an obligation? Ugh, I have to exercise. There's a tool I like. It's called the MAP tool, meaning awareness, permission. What's the meaning that you give exercise? Are you aware of the lens that you're looking through? And at the end of the day, do you give yourself permission to move? Self care is so incredibly important. And when we nourish ourselves, we're better able to nourish others. So give yourself permission to move your body. So how do you get more exercise in? I think you should embrace your inner child. You should embrace the idea of functional movement. Look at how a kid plays. They're not just kind of running, kind of just boring running all the time. They're playing. They're acting like animals. They're jumping, they are crawling, and they are really using their whole bodies as our bodies are intended to be used. So copy a kid. If you still don't like exercise, fake it until you make it. Act as if. Tell yourself that you like to exercise. Convince yourself that you do retrain your brain in whatever manner you need to do so. So is it playing music when you exercise? Is it trying different things? Whatever you can find that will put a smile on your face and get you out moving. That's what you need to do.
