Hi everybody, my name is Heather. Welcome to the Boost. I am so happy that you're here. I will be arriving to your inbox at 7 o' clock every morning with different tips and tools to have a successful boost. I will also be hanging out over at our Facebook community page, the Big Boost, and sharing pictures of the meals that I'm eating every day and answering questions and I really, really hope that you'll join us over there and because I feel like that's really where the magic happens. So the Boost. I want to give you the best leg up possible during these three weeks. And I think the best way to start off this boost is by thinking about a, well, life vision. This is a scene that you can kind of create or paint in your mind about how you want to feel, how you want to live, the thoughts you want to be having. A few years ago I did this myself and I thought, When I am 62 years old, I want to be slim, trim, strong. I want to be kayaking the north shore of Lake Superior. I want to be living as actively as possible. And so my daily goals and my daily manifesto ladder up into that larger, well, life vision. So get out a journal today and start thinking about what do you want your vision to be? It could be 20 years from now, it could be five years from now or three years from now. But what is it that you want your health and well being to look like? The next thing I'd like you to do is a manifesto. And I have attached a few examples of manifestos clients have done for me in the past to give you kind of an idea. And a manifesto is kind of the day to day. So what is a mantra or a promise that you can make to yourself in the moment? So I believe in my body's strength and power in this moment. I can conquer the world in this moment. It really can be anything at all. So also put pen to paper and think about your manifesto, your promise to yourself day to day. As we kind of go through this boost and beyond the boost as well, the next area that I'd like you to dive into is doing a personality test. It's a character strengths test. It's free. I've included the link below and find out what are your top one to two strengths. Those are things that we're going to be using to help you overcome hurdles or challenges or doubts that kind of spring up throughout this experiment. So for example, my top two strengths are self regulation and zest. My bottom strength is humility. Now it's kind of Funny, because my husband's top strength is humility and so he likes to point that out. And it doesn't mean that I don't know how to be humble, but if I were to try to use that quality to overcome my challenges, I would probably fail. But if I use my zest, if I use my self regulation, I am going to succeed. So take the survey and then over on our community page, let us know what are your top strengths that will help us get to know everybody. So I hope that you'll do that one. And then the final thing I wanted to touch on today is functional medicine. So I am a functional medicine certified health coach as well as a national board certified health coach. And you might be thinking, but what the heck is functional medicine? So functional medicine is really all about the idea that we need to get to the root cause of what's causing an imbalance in your body and not making you feel well. So maybe it's why am I holding onto weight, why do I have headaches, why do I have no energy and I feel lethargic? So that's the goal of functional medicine. To ask the question why? And to figure out what's going on and then to fix it and to help people heal. And in the functional medicine world, there are five areas that we focus on as coaches to help people get the most out of life and get them back on track towards health and well being. And so this is a little poster that I create for shows and things like that. And so we start off by focusing on nutrition. And you all have the MITO plan. So, so read that plan and let me know whatever your questions are. I'm happy to answer them. It's a phenomenal therapeutic plan and it can absolutely be modified however you'd like to modify it. So we always start off with nutrition and functional medicine. We also talk about exercise and movement, we talk about sleep and relaxation, and we talk about relationships as well as stress transformation. So those are the five areas that we focus on and we'll be touching on all of these throughout the next three weeks. So there you have it. Welcome to day one. I am absolutely delighted, so, so happy that you're here. Respond directly to this email if you have any questions at all. The remaining videos that you receive. Every day will be a little shorter than this one, but because it is our first day, there's just a little more to cover. So be well and dive in and I'll see you over at the community. Take care.
