From Licenses to Franchises: My Entrepreneurial Journey

I started licensing and then I started franchising. So franchising was probably the hardest business I have ever ran in my life. I think everything after that stage is just so, so easy. But started franchising, we started going international. We had 40 locations throughout the country and over 120 staff. And it was the heaviest, most responsibility laden, difficult thing I have ever done. And so we won a bunch of awards. Everything looked incred from the outside, but I was really struggling on the inside. You know, when you ever get to a certain stage in your life, which I'm sure looking at a lot of people, and most of us are over 25, and I think once you get past that age, there's kind of different things that you go, you thought you were creating this dream and then you wake up one day and go, wrong way, go back. This is not. This is not what I wanted to do. How did I create this? That was me with my last business was I was like, I went as big and fast and hard as I possibly could and learned that bigger isn't always better. And so what I love about online business is that you can really go as far as you want to and be really intentional about which levers to pull to make sure that what you're creating is something that you're going to enjoy.
