Brian Johnson delivers a short +1 video reflecting on how to authentically say "I love you," arguing that a strong sense of self ("the I") is a prerequisite. He references an Ayn Rand line from The Fountainhead, ties the idea to his Mastery Series (Love 0.0→3.0) and asks viewers to confirm they are practicing core self-care, ending with his "squeeze, squeeze, squeeze" cue.

Hi, this is Brian. Welcome back to another Optimize plus one. In our last plus one, we hung out with Emerson and practice our squeezy ease. As you may recall, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze equals I love you. You practice yet. Now, when I thought about how to say I love you in squeezy ease, I thought of Ayn Rand. Yes, that's how my brain is wired. Specifically, I. I thought of a line from the Fountainhead. This one, she tells us, to say I love you, one must know first how to say the I. Think about that for a moment longer. To say I love you, one must know first how to say the I. It's kind of like that oxygen mask we're always told to put on before trying to help others. To say I love you with the deepest integrity, we've got to start with a strong sense of self. Of course, we don't stop there, but it is wise to start there. Which is why in our Mastery Series session on Love, in our Carpe Diem module, we talk about how to operationalize Love 0.0, Love 1.0, Love 2.0 and Love 3.0. See this +1 linked in this one for more. So today's +1, how's your sense of I? Are you taking care of yourself so you have the strength for two? Specifically, are you rocking your number one self care practice? We've got a link to that plus one as well. Awesome. Let's optimize love 0.0 in service to all the other loves in our lives. Squeeze, squeeze, squeeze. Plus one plus one plus one.
