#1: My new favorite virtue: Encourage (Your Top 3?) (+ a Trail walk + Yoda love) (#30)

Brian Johnson records a conversational YouTube walk-and-talk reflecting on virtues with a focus on 'encourage' as his current top virtue. He discusses a recent coaching session with Phil Stutts (his "Yoda"), gives a brief tour of his property and the half-mile "philosopher's loop" trail, and promotes his Optimized Coach Class (late registration window, community scale). He asks viewers to identify the three virtues they'd want to be remembered for and mentions release details for "module zero" (intro, ~100 minutes).

Hey, guys, what's up? This is Bry. It is a late edition today 3 something. I already virtually signed this in my head, but I'll do it with you. It's day one today. Technically, it's day two of our Optimized Coach Class three program, but it's always day one. We re earn our tridents every day. Today was an awesome day. I got flexible with it on what was most important today, which was some strategic stuff. We launched our Optimized Coach Class three yesterday. There's still a little bit of time to sign up. We have a late registration phase that I think extends for another 11 days or so. And then you're going to need to wait until OPTYMYZ coach Class 4, which starts January 1st. So if you've been feeling it, well, sign up. Now's the time. Optimize me. Coach thrilled again. We've got over 2,000 coaches, optimizers from over 70 countries. It's ET cetera. But basically the idea this morning was flexibility. I shifted from my normal plan, which was to record PNTVs to focusing on the team. We launched the PNTVs yesterday as well. We relaunched the podcast with PNTVs and with number ones, etc. So that's what I plan to talk about. And then it rained today anyway, so I couldn't have filmed. So it was perfect. I spent all day with the team. I just got off the phone with my coach, my Yoda, my beloved spiritual father, Phil Stutts, and I think I might actually take you on a walk and we'll talk about it. People wanted to see different things than me behind the camera here. This is a picture Phil drew during our session today. We connected on FaceTime. The main idea was that my own inner evolution and yours needs to be what it is. You know, just soul force. And then, boom, give that out. Communicate with what he calls inspired communication, which is more soul force than words. Just me and my essence coming in to the world. That going through what he calls the impact zone and affecting people. It's the cornerstone of a lot of our work together. But the thing that I want to talk about, and I've got my, you know, five pages of notes from this chat, but I was thinking about, I. I got off my call literally 10 minutes ago, went on a walk, oscillating, right? Didn't spend time online hammering myself. I got off and I oscillated. I was on. Now I want to be off. So I'm going to take you out there and we're going to Talk about courage. Let's go. I'll give you a quick little tour through a little house. So Alexander wanted less house, more land. We had a bigger spot in downtown Ojai. House is a mess. Welcome to the jungle. That's a painting of the library in Ephesus. I went to Ephesus, Turkey back in the day, absolutely loved it. One of the artists in the social platform I built before this one called Zodz actually had this painting. I said, that's amazing. I bought it from him, I don't know, a dozen years ago at least now. And it's gone everywhere with me. The four virtues. Four of the virtues are represented as goddesses there. But anyway, Alexander wouldn't want me showing off our dirty place. So we'll go outside. We got two rebounders, you might have noticed. Trip on one inside, trip on that one outside. Rowing machine there. There's the barn. We got a water filtration system that's going in right there. Kind of excited about it. So when we saw this place, I might have told the story before, but Blue house, you kidding me? Blue house, folks optimized. Blue little house on a nice beautiful piece of property. Nama's visiting, staying in that tiny house. We're gonna go on a walk. So the first thing I did when I came in here, as I've mentioned in different contexts, was carve a walking, hiking, running trail. It's kind of the philosopher's loop. It's about a half a mile. So we'll go on that walk today and we're going to talk about what we're going to talk about. At some point I'll bring you into that barn, which is now our studio where I film the PNTVs, the plus ones, etc. Every single time I see this blue house with that charming little white roof, I'm like, that's just epic. It's like the guy built it for us. So anyway, I had a great chat with Phil at the end. I appreciated him and when one of the things that really struck me was the fact that he is the living embodiment of encouragement. I mean, it's one of my favorite virtues and I actually think it's going to become my number one virtue for a while. Energy, work and love wise. I can just see writing. Energy, work, love. And then encourage, encourage myself with energy and doing the physical practices that keep me plugged in, filling up, you know, with this. This is just such a. The HRV booster, right? And then my work, the primary virtue, you know, I've had discipline for energy for a long time. And then work, primary virtue was, is prolific, you know, but it's encouraged. That's what I want to do. I want to give you courage. I want to give you hope, courage, optimism for the future and then hopefully inject you with the courage so you can go do the same thing. That's how we're going to create ripples the world and truly change the world 1% of time together, starting with you and me. So anyway, I appreciated Phil with this because he's just, he's extraordinary how his ability to inject courage and just absolute faith in your potential and seeing the large scale impact of, you know, in my case, me being me in the world. I know he does it with all of his clients is just extraordinary. And so anyway, had that conversation with him. Super touching, beautiful. And then I was thinking about a PNTV I filmed yesterday. I did four on the Navy Seals and then I decided to transition. I did three on Mr. Rogers. Right. Kind of counterbalancing. Although they had the exact same soul, force and love for. Let's be mindful as we go over the bridge, folks, this is fun. When I go over it with the kids, I can kind of bounce them up. Ah, so good. So Mr. Rogers, you know, one of the books, his wife Joanne talks about how proud she was to be Mrs. Fred Rogers. And it's just beautiful. It's like the kind of thing that you would aspire your spouse to say about you after being married for 51 years. So in the PNTV that's coming up soon, I said, what are your three core virtues you want to be remembered for? Right. Mrs. Fred Rogers. Joanne Rogers said that Fred Rogers was courageous, he was loving, he was disciplined. And she said perhaps in that order. Oh, and did I mention he was kind and this is effusive, beautiful thing about how much she loved him. So I challenged you and I challenged myself. Think about what are the three virtues you want to be remembered for? And of course, this is how we start the Optimized Mastery series. With Optimize Coach, you have to begin with the ultimate end in mind, the ultimate eulogy. How do you want to be remembered? And as a side note, we're going to be releasing module zero, which is like a 75. How long is it? No, it's like 100 minute. First module, the introduction where I go off on the 300 day program. Again, it's a distillation of my life's work and we end it with your eulogy. What are People gonna have to say about you? Because the whole point of our work together is get clear on that right now. What are your underlying, most cherished virtues? Are you living them today? Energy, work and love wise and I shared my whole discipline, prolific and connected is my love virtue. But then I realized, no, actually, you know, it's encouragement, Encouragement, encouragement. How do we do that? But what's yours? And then I also thought of, then challenged you to think about what's your three word eulogy? If you had a three. I'm sorry, what do you call the tombstone thing? What's the three word thing on your tombstone? Right? And at the time I thought he served heroically for me. He served heroically. And then I like that, you know, that'd be a nice thing to be remembered for. But then I realized actually what I really would want people to say, it's less of a thing etched on my tombstone and more of a thing I want to etch on people's hearts and souls, which is he encouraged me. Gives me tears in my eyes. He encouraged me. Which is again what I feel from my coach, Phil, and what I want to give to you is that feeling sense of I encouraged you. Hopefully I'm that voice in your head. As one of the wonderful women on our team said Yana today in our team meeting, that I'm kind of there, you know, with her, Daimon, that when she knows she's capable a little bit more, she just channels that voice and I'm right there. And that's awesome. So there you go. He encouraged me. That's what I hope you get out of this. And that's what I wanted to share today. What is it for you? If you could carve three things or three word thing into a beloved's soul, what would it be? What do you stand for? What are you here to do? Let's go do that today. We're gonna get under 10 minutes. We didn't quite finish the loop, but we'll leave it at that. It's grandma's little tiny house for the week. Nama, our kids lover. Optimized coach. We'll keep on going. Let's see if we can finish this thing. She's the one who got me into Spartan races. Aru. All right. More than enough from me. Let's get under 10 minutes. Make today an awesome day. If you want to join us for Optimized coach. Optimize me, coach. Few more days to join. Make today an awesome day. Let's encourage others. See you.
