A short spoken reflection by Brian Johnson that uses the alchemical metaphor of the philosopher's stone to argue for accepting and transforming all of life’s experiences into positive outcomes. He emphasizes practicing rapid emotional recovery, consistency through plateaus, and a disciplined personal practice to ‘lock in’ that mindset.

The philosopher's stone in alchemy can transform any base metal into gold. It's a metaphor. The wise human being can transform anything into something positive. There's beauty in accepting all of life's experiences. So that's the consciousness with which we want to approach life. It doesn't mean that we don't have the instantaneous human response to life hitting us. But the game becomes, how quickly can we not only regain our center, but then do what needs to get done? That ability is just so exciting. And then the master is the one who's practicing that more and more consistently, knowing it's never going to go away, knowing there are very long plateaus where you don't feel gains, and then moments that is exhilarating. And then my practice right now is, lock it in, lock it in, lock it in. Know what I do specifically, and then do that.
