Brian Johnson questions why unhealthy habits like chicken nuggets and late-night partying are normal while green juice and meditation seem weird. In 2004, 66% of Americans were overweight or obese. Being well adjusted to a sick society isn't health.

Hi, this is Brian with another mini chapter from A Philosopher's Notes. This one's called Just Wondering. Just Wondering why is it okay or totally normal to eat chicken nuggets and hot dogs? Do you know what's in those? Ack. As we drink beer by the case and party all night long while it's weird to drink green juice and eat whole foods and get up early for meditation, scratching my head. I guess it's not all that surprising. What would you expect from a world where more people are overweight than underfed? And when we take antidepressants like their tic tacs? P.S. did you know that in 2004, 66% of the US population was overweight or obese? Yeah. Probably don't want to be normal in a society like that, huh? P.P.S. i guess that's why Krishnamurti tells us it's no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. Well, there you go. Just wondering. All right, let's not be normal, huh? Let us be exceptional. That's a good idea in today's culture. And I hope you enjoyed. Look forward to sharing more with you soon.
