You're listening to Optimize with Bryan Johnson. More wisdom in less time. Hello and welcome back to the Optimize Mastery series. We're in module five, Algorithms, part four, Power algorithms. It's Michael here. I'll be walking us through this one. As a reminder, part one, we looked at the big picture of algorithms. Ancient intelligence becoming world class programmers of that ancient intelligence, the basal ganglia. In part two, we looked at install. How to install habits that run on autopilot. Do you remember the ABCs anchor? Make it obvious something you do daily. Make that behavior so small, tiny, laughably easy. You cannot fail. And c celebrate it. What's your celebration?
Woo.
Nailed the recap on the install part 3. Delete key things there, make the prompt invisible, make the habit hard to do or harder to do and then run the needs work process. Do you remember that needs work algorithm? We'll revisit that as part of the power algorithms today. Which brings us to part four, power algorithms. We're going to take a look at 10 of the top optimizing power algorithms that you can apply to your life. With the goal of becoming professional optimizers on autopilot. We want to be that optimized equals optimus equals best equals eudaimone equals hero versions of ourselves on autopilot. 11 big ideas. Today we'll do a quick preview of them before diving into the details. Starting with Big idea number one. M power with M in parentheses. We'll look at defining a power. We'll look at defining empower and apply those to the goal of becoming professional optimizers on autopilot. Which brings us to Big Idea 2. Who we started with who in previous parts of algorithms. It's our big idea at number two. This time we will look once again at you, at your optimist best as well as who we're going to empower using these algorithms. Hint there you, your daimon and and your coach. We'll look at our first optimizing power algorithm in that second big idea, who you, your daimon and your coach. In Big idea three, what we'll check out our second and third power algorithms as we look at helping you to step in between stimulus and response. Right. Step in between that gap and close that gap between who you're capable of being and who you're actually being more and more consistently as well as operationalizing virtue, bringing more virtue into our behaviors. That wisdom, self mastery, courage, love, hope, gratitude, curiosity and zest. Which brings us to Big idea number four. Why we will cover our fourth algorithm In Big Idea number four, and as we have in the rest of the algorithm sections, we'll look at the general why, a specific why, and the importance of bringing it to today. Generally. That daimon line, that demon line, which one do you want to be on specifically? Why is it important for you to become a professional optimizer? Put that on autopilot, and why it's important to do it today. Finding the right why, feeling those experiences, those benefits, right this moment. Which brings us to Big idea number five. When. When are we going to do this? Right now we'll cover state driven algorithms. Algorithms are all ultimately state driven, as well as some important transitions to consider when applying these power algorithms. Big Idea 5 will also contain our 5th and 6th power algorithms of the top 10. And then in Big Idea 6, how. Noticing a theme here, repetition helps us learn. Having covered the who, the what, the why and the when, we will look at the how as well as big algorithms 7a and 7b. We'll cover Self Mastery 101, aka using our willpower to install habits that run on autopilot via algorithms. Some ABC 1, 2, 3s for each of those, as well as the Dymon expression equation. You heard about this previously in the Carpe Diem modules. Energy times, focus times. What's important now to the power of consistency. We're going to use that to install these algorithms that run on autopilot. Dialing that energy up. Dialing up that focus on what's important now to the power of consistency, which we will also revisit. Revisit in the fundamentals module. Big idea number seven is energy. We're going to break down that dimon, that genius expression equation. Big idea 7 we'll look at energy. Increasing the energy that we have available to us and decreasing the amount of energy that we need in any given moment. And then Big Idea 8, we'll look at focusing on what's important now or when. Focus on when. We'll look at focus, training, focus, reducing distractions. We will look at what's important now, AKA win what's important now. We will also look at testing what's important now. We're using that three concentric circles that we have explored previously in the algorithms module as well as wins. What do we do when we experience wins? We celebrate, of course. Add it to our cookie jar high 5 hour Daimon in the process. In Big Idea 9, we'll look at some equanimity algorithms, revisiting some that we covered previously in the session. We'll look at micro Equanimity rebalancing. We'll look at macro equanimity rebalancing and when to apply those. And then In Big Idea 10, we'll look at some anti fragile alchemy algorithms, aka when you fall short. Not if, but when. How can we get back up? How can we use that as fuel for our growth both internally, externally, in micro moments and on big picture macro moments as well. Finally, big idea number 11. Can you guess what it is? Coaches live this stuff. Install then iterate experiment as you become a professional optimizer on autopilot. That's a quick look at where we're headed. Let's jump in our first big idea mpower empower with the M in parentheses. We're going to define power, we're going to define mpower and we're going to apply that to power algorithms and becoming professional optimizers on autopilot. Starting with power, it is a noun, it is a verb. As a noun it means the ability to do something or the capacity to impact or influence behavior or events. That is power. When we have the ability to do something, we can impact the events around us. As a verb, it means to supply something with energy, to power a light bulb, to power a computer, a camera, to power your physical body via the fundamentals, et cetera. So we are going to give you the power to optimize your life. Which brings us to empower a verb. To give someone or something the ability to do something, AKA to make somebody stronger and more confident. That's definition number two, empower. So power is the ability to do something. When we empower somebody or something, we give them the ability to do that. We make them stronger and more confident. That's what we're going to do with these top 10 optimizing power algorithms. We're going to use them, using our willpower to install habits and behaviors, etc. That run on autopilot via algorithms. What are we going to put on autopilot? You at your optimize equals optimus equals best equals udaimon equals hero self making you express the best version of yourself more and more and more consistently with less and less and less and less and less effort, such that you at your best is just how you are, period. You show up on a moment to moment to moment to moment basis with the power to impact your mind, your thoughts, those around you. Having empowered yourself using these top 10 optimizing power algorithms, having looked at those definitions, power and power, and how we're going to use them, let's check out Big Idea number two who.
