Pre-Sunrise Meditation + Micro-Moment of Awesome with Emerson 🎯 (LGH #11)

This is a short YouTube vlog by Brian Johnson documenting an early-morning routine: a pre-sunrise outdoor meditation, breath work and movement targets, a playful Micro-Moment of Awesome interaction with his child Emerson, and a walkthrough of recent wellness metrics from the Aura app. Brian reflects on recovery training (resting heart rate, heart rate variability, recovery index), activity and sleep (including a 90-minute massage), sets targets (burpees, meditation), and mentions a possible caffeine-reduction experiment. The tone is informal, motivational, and data-informed.

Guys, what's up? This is Bry outside. Quiet voice. Rooster's got a loud voice. It's a little after five. Meditating outside today. Kind of excited. Let's go. Fully moved in. Wifey had me replace the normal light with a red light. That's like us. All right, I'm gonna get to work. All right, part two of this morning's video meditation complete. Emerson, what's up, buddy? Hey. What did we just do the heater? I don't know. That thing is on high. It was a little cold this morning as I was meditating. Very hot. It's getting warm. It's getting warm. We just set it up. Thanks for your help, buddy. Alright, today we're gonna look at aura real quick. We're gonna look at some target swipes. Hey, buddy, come here. Can you help me hit a target? Sure. Actually, you know what target I want to hit? I want to hit micro moment of awesome with you. So let's find it. Micro. Oh no, I want to hug. Can you find micro moment of awesome with Emerson? Bam. That's how it's done. We've had 512 micro moments of awesome I've captured in the app. Is that cool? Yeah. Wait, really? Yeah. Can you believe it? Check it out. 512. 86,000 all time with our community. Isn't that pretty cool? Should we have another one right now? Good, let's go. Let's go, buddy. How you doing? Bam. That's like us. That is like us, isn't it? All right, cool. What else we got? All right, there we go. Give me a hug. Okay. Bam. All right, target's worked. All right, go have fun. Thank you for your help. Bye. Bye. All right, cool. So, Aura, what do we got today? Ors whittle off today. Aura, you gave me an 82. That should be a 92. I'm turning that frown upside down. That's all I've got to say. Let's look at it though. Okay, cool. So yesterday's intention was to train my recovery, which I did quite effectively. Got the resting heart rate down to 45. Heart rate variability up to 45. I like that. As I've described, when I've got my heart rate variability higher than my resting heart rate, I'm winning. Yesterday couldn't get my heart rate into the 40s, which is always an indication I'm not doing things right. And my heart rate variability was below 30, which is also an indication it wasn't quite right. So I decided to use that data wisely and turn it Into a gain. Right? Winner, learn, Learning is winning, etc. Now why this should be a 92 is Aura's a little bit weird on the recovery index, which is how they measure the time at which you hit your lowest resting heart rate. Now, I get it. You know, it took me a while for that to come down, but that's a little bit aggressive. On the ding on the recovery index, my average was 49. So, yeah, I didn't hit the lowest point until that point in time, but whatever. So I look at that and say 92. Thank you very much. Feeling zesty. Also got dinged from previous day activity. Let's take a quick look at that. Yeah, I was pretty active yesterday, I'll give you that. Still got a 97 activity score, but I walked the equivalent of 10 miles. The new outdoor office created an opportunity to move more back and forth from the house. Awesome. But this sleep is yesterday. Last night's sleep was pretty legit. In addition to reducing input, spending more time outside, I also got a 90 minute massage, which is always a nice way to reboot the nervous system. Hard to beat that sleep, folks. Solid round, solid D. Very efficient. Yeah, I'll take that. All right, Training the recovery, getting to work. What else we got in the heroic app? I think there was something else I wanted to share with you. Let me see real quick. Let's go, hero show. We trained our recovery yesterday. Beta was awesome. And then we Talked about the 4000, 545 working the protocol. So whatever. Aura didn't quite give me the love that I would have liked to see. But that's a non issue. If I'm working the protocol, I'm working the protocol, which makes me think of. Which is what we want to focus on, which makes me think of. And let's see if we can find it real quick. See if what happens when you search Sean Casey. Sean Casey, dear friend, he will get my aura. Scores texted to him along with Brandon Guyer. And in a moment. Ah, there it is. You go over 12 lately. Sean Casey was a major league baseball player, was batting nearly 400 in the summer. Then he went over 12. He called his coach, who is one of the best coaches of the era, Harvey Dorfman, who we have notes on as well. And he said coach over 12. All his coach cared about was whether he was working his protocol. So when I look at that data, yeah, I'd like to see it as 92, but did I work my protocol? Absolutely. Feeling good. Let's go. We'll send a link in the show notes. Stand up. Let's go. I might do a reduction and elimination of caffeine experiment to see if I can drive that hrv higher more soon. Oh wait. I didn't do my target swipe for meditation. Let me do that. Then we'll head off and make today another awesome day. Because today is day one in my calendar. Every day meditated outside. A little chilly. Little chilly folks in the 50s, but you know, start to feel that for an hour. That felt good. Did my breath work? Breath training during that meditation? Did I do that? I don't think I did that yet. I did my AM opening series. I've done my first set of burpees. I've done my thousand seconds. I will do 77 burpees at the end of my deep work session I'm working on right now. Already hit some other targets. More than enough for today. Let's go hero. Today's plus one was good as well. Hard to easy. Emerson. Learning how to snap poop in the toilet. Everything's hard before it's easy, folks. There you go. Goethe wisdom. This is so good. William James. It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which more than anything else will affect its successful outcome. You you up to some challenging work. Perfect. Keep your attitude strong. Let's go.
