This is a short Heroic +1 podcast episode ("Quadruple Down! (vYOU!): Did You?") in which Brian Johnson urges listeners to "quadruple down" on their core daily protocols and emotional stamina when facing increased personal and collective challenges. He prompts listeners to inventory one thing to start and one thing to stop to show up as their best selves, emphasizing commitment to fundamentals under stress. Michael Balchan closes with a brief plug for Heroic Us resources (Philosopher's Notes, Masterclasses, app, coaching, workshops) to support personal development.

Hi, this is Brian. Welcome back to another heroic plus one. And our last one, we talked about the fact that I journaled quadrupled down, very large font in my morning journaling. It looks something like this huge font as you see in the plus one. Quadruple down, bold, caps, underlined exclamation point. Now, I reminded us of the Yoda inspired wisdom on how to cultivate emotional stamina and forge antifragile confidence. I repeat, the algorithm goes like this. The worse we feel, the more committed we need to be to our protocol. The parallel wisdom goes like this. The greater the challenges we face individually and collectively, the greater the commitment we need to have to dominating our protocols, individually and collectively. Now, today's plus one is simple but not easy. Let's do a quick inventory of how you are doing with your fundamentals. I want to shine a very bright flashlight of curiosity on your life as the tensions mount in our world. Are you using these historically significant challenges as a cue trigger prompt to practice your philosophy at the highest level you have ever aspired to practice it, or are you letting all your heroic habits fall away right when we need you to be dominating them the most? If we're truly serious about moving from theory to practice to mastery so we can change the world together, we need to actually do the things we know we should be doing that help us connect to and express the best version of ourselves, especially when we feel overwhelmed by the incessant pain and uncertainty of our modern world. With that in mind, what's one thing you know you need to start doing if you want to show up as your best self right now? And what's the one thing you know you need to stop doing if you want to show up as your best self right now? Pause. Take a moment or three, get clarity on that. Then ask yourself the question, how can I quadruple down on my core fundamentals to use these challenges to activate my heroic potential? Well, how will you know this? We need you to show up as your best all day, every day, especially today.
What's up? This is Michael, president and head coach at Heroic. One quick note before we go.
