Recovering from burnout.

Brian Johnson on why recovery matters as much as hard work. Celebrate what you did, reflect on what to change, then pick one thing to start and one to stop. Small shifts compound into sustainable performance.

Basically every day is a new opportunity to create a new masterpiece. Day. I am literally a different person and need to be a different person today than a week ago. When you're pushing yourself, there's just this intensity to living life fully that we want to bring to our days and to each moment within our days. It's not that we work too hard, it's that we don't recover enough. So if you're going to go all in on, then you need to go all in off. And yet also knowing that as you continue to become more and more masterful at it, it will become more and more energizing and less yet. You will, of course, at times go too far. At which point, perfect. Now it needs to get done. You need to train your recovery better. One, two, three. Yeah. I'm really proud of myself for pushing hard and doing my best. Celebrate something, figure out something that could have been done differently and then decide what you will do differently next time. So then the way that I end that always is what's the one thing I could be doing that I need to start doing and what's the one thing I need to stop doing?
