Hey, this is Bry. Welcome back to the Little Heroic app series in which I'm going to walk you through some of the key features of the app, hopefully share some inspiring wisdom and invite you to join us. You can learn more about Heroic in your iOS or Android app store. Just search Heroic, the training platform. We've been blessed to receive a ton of five star reviews. You can learn more about how individuals are describing heroic and yeah, you also can go to heroic us to learn more, etc. For now, let's go back to where we were in our last video. We were talking about our virtue compass and the fact that ancient wisdom, modern science agree the ultimate purpose of life is to put your virtues in action so you can show up as the best, most heroic version of yourself in service to something bigger than yourself. We talked about the four cardinal virtues of heroic, which just lean on ancient wisdom, wisdom, self mastery, courage, and love, cardinal directional points in our virtue compass. And I promise we'd talk about the scientifically proven virtues. So there are five virtues that are most highly correlated with flourishing according to positive scientists, positive psychology. Here they are. Number one. Actually, the virtue most highly correlated with your flourishing is zest is your life force. It's your sense of energy, your vitality. If you are depleted, energy wise, and you have a hard time getting out of bed because of poor lifestyle choices, good luck showing up in the rest of your life. Good luck showing up powerfully in your work and in your love. If your energy isn't dialed in, which is why we start our big three with our energy, then we bring that energy to our work and to our love. So that virtue we talk a lot about in basic training. We walk through all these ideas and know the ultimate game objective 1. I talk about these ideas and then I walk you through the cardinal virtues. Wisdom, self mastery, courage, love, and then hope, gratitude, curiosity and zest. And little micro lessons, you know, from 6 minutes to 9 minutes, 11 minutes, 7 minutes, 5 minutes, etc. To walk you through the seven objectives of basic training. The first objective being you got to understand that it all starts with virtue. So zest is the virtue most highly correlated with your flourishing. Let's see if we got a good quote in here. Orison Sweat Martin, turn of the century, last century, founded Success magazine. Talked about Teddy Roosevelt as a leader he admired in his lifetime. He says, no man, and pardon me, women. No woman or man, of course, but no man can hope to accomplish anything great in this world until he throws his whole soul, flings his force to his whole life into it. Zest. Ooh, how about this one? Joseph Campbell, what am I? Am I the bulb that carries the light, or am I the light of which the bulb is a vehicle? Think about that one. Yes. Short answer. Our job. As Richard Rohr says, quoting Desmond Tutu, we're just these little light bulbs. But our job is to keep ourselves screwed in. We got to make sure we have that universal, divine current coming through us. And you do that by dominating the fundamentals. So we've got a bunch of quotes here to get your zest on. I'll actually break this up. I'll come back and we'll look at hope, gratitude, curiosity. And then love is the fifth virtue the scientists tell us are most highly correlated with flourishing. Again, zest, hope, gratitude, curiosity, and love. We'll walk it through each of those. Let me actually walk you over there. We've got a whole section dedicated to this. So we've got Master the fundamentals. Dominate the fundamentals. Rather after Master yourself. Talk about why fundamentals are so important. Then we walk through eating, moving, sleeping, breathing, focusing, celebrating, prospering. These are the core fundamentals of heroic. To help you get that zest dialed in, here's to having a zesty day.
