MIT researcher Hugh Herr, a double amputee from a 1982 climbing accident, shows how bionic prosthetics let people walk, run, and dance again. His lab has built powered legs that mimic muscle power, neural interfaces that read residual muscles, and synthetic skins designed through MRI imaging. Dancer Adrienne Hoslett Davis returned to ballroom after losing her leg in the Boston marathon bombing.
