Build an AI email agent in n8n using GPT-4o Mini and Gmail without code. Add an AI Agent node, connect Gmail as a tool, and test it by sending an email to nate@example.com. Refine the output by instructing the agent to sign off as Bob.
This is how to build an email agent in N8N with zero code in under a minute. So once you're in N8N, you're going to hit Tab, you're going to type in AI agent and grab your agent. And then all we have to do is plug in a chat model, which is its brain. So we'll click on this plus, we'll click on OpenAI for this case, and we have our account set up and we have GPT-4o Mini as the brain. Then we're going to click on the plus for tool. I'm going to type in Gmail and we're going to grab this Gmail node and it's going to be a send message. Then all we have to do is click these three buttons, let the model define this parameter. So we'll click this for to, we'll click this for subject, and we'll click that for message as well. Finally, the last step is we just wanna rename this tool so the agent knows what it does. So we'll say send email. And we're already done. All we have to do now is test it out. So I said send an email to nate@example.com letting him know that I'm running late to the meeting and they can start without me. And before I could even finish reading that off, the email's already been sent. So here we have the email. It was sent to nate@example.com. The subject is running late to meeting and the message says, hi Nate, I just wanted to let you know that I'm running late to the meeting. Please feel free to start without me. Thanks, your name. And now all we have to do to fix this is tell the agent how to sign off the email. So we'll click into the send email tool and under message we'll add a description that says sign off as Bob. So now we can come back out, we can send this message once again and it's gonna do the exact same thing, but this time we'll get a sign off as Bob. It's already done.
