To full disclosure, my father was an architect. I was always around architecture, and he was quite a successful architect too. He took some architecture at A&M and sort of liked it. I kind of grew up in that. My father went on to the largest architecture company in the world. The thing that really kind of made the difference for me is go to New York and study architecture for a year, kind of crazy program called the Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies. And I did that. I was at the right place at the right time. You know, New York was very different place, and we lived right on the edge. It was a sort of dumb thing and great thing to do at the same time. It's that sort of just leap of faith. It was a terrific thing, and I fell in love with architecture.
