A 22-year-old from Hawaii started an eco-store to solve what he saw as the main problem with sustainable products: they cost too much. He contacted a local Maui supplier making bamboo toothbrushes to stock his store, focusing on affordability over just adding another green retailer.

Why are sustainable products so expensive if they're better for the planet? So yeah, I wanted to build an eco store. I didn't want it to just be like another eco store out there. I wanted to solve people's problem. And I thought the biggest problem people had in sustainability was the prices for sustainable products. I went ahead with it and I called up first a local supplier from Maui. They made bamboo toothbrushes. I was like, hey, how do I like sell your toothbrushes on my store?
