making money in business was hard until I learned this lol

Two beliefs matter most: in your business model and in yourself. Break your goals into learnable skills, then practice them repeatedly. The speaker compares dropshipping, lead gen, and SMMA to help you pick the right fit.
So making money from online business was extremely hard until I learned the lesson that I'm about to share with you in today's video. And this video will be valuable for you if you are running your own online business, if you just started an online business, but you're just simply not making the amount of money that you want, or not seeing the results that you want, or you're out in the marketplace, you're interested in starting a business, but you just haven't took that first step yet, right? And in today's video, it'll be extremely valuable because. Because it completely changed the game for me once I learned this one very simple concept, right? So just to start at the top, the very first thing you have to understand is everything starts with your beliefs. And I know what you're thinking. You might be watching this video and you might be like, oh, there's just, there's just another guy. Talk about manifestation and, you know, all this other stuff and believing yourself, but that's not really what this video is about, right? But I wanted to get this out of the way just right off the bat, right? Is in order for business to work, in order for you to actually succeed and make money with, with your own online business, there's two things that you need to believe in. The very first thing is you need to be believing in the vehicle that you're in. And the second belief is belief in yourself. So what do I mean by that? Right? So I'm sure all of us, if you're watching this video, all of us have seen these type of videos on YouTube, right? You see these guys online, these young guys online, talking about how to actually start XYZ business model, right? How to start a drop shipping store, how to start a smma, right? How to do all these other things, right? And you actually see one of my videos, how to actually start a lead generation agency, which, which is kind of what I talk about most on this YouTube channel, right? So we've all seen these type of videos, right? They all get a lot of views. And whenever someone watches these videos, it kind of motivates you to actually look into the business. It might motivate you to actually start the business. And that's kind of the purpose of these videos, right? And obviously there's a bunch of different ways online to actually make money. There's literally a million different business models out there. And the very first thing you need to believe in is believe that the business model that you're looking to start the, that it actually works. Or if you're actually running a business right now and you're just not getting the results. You need to believe that it has potential to actually make you 5k a month, 10k a month, 50k a month, and beyond that. Right. You have to believe the business model actually works. The other thing you have to understand is are people actually making money with that business? Right. So in drop shipping, are people actually making money? Well, the answer is yes. In lead generation agency, are people actually making money? Well, the answer is yes is, you know, do people actually make money with a social media marketing agency? The answer is yes. Right? And these are all different types of proof that you can see to help you believe that the vehicle you're in actually works and is extremely profitable. And all of these business models have all these types of proof. But the next question you need to be asking yourself is how much money are people making? Are there people making $10,000 a month doing a lead generation agency? Are there people making $50,000 a month doing drop shipping? Right. These are all different cues that you need to evaluate when you're picking a business model. So, so that you actually believe that the vehicle work. And then finally, as you are choosing a business model, you need to make sure that the business model logistically makes sense for you. Right? Because there's certain things that just, you know, a business doesn't make sense for every single person. Every type of business has a very specific type of person where it makes most sense for it. So what do I mean by that? Let's take an example of dropshipping or Amazon fba. These are product based businesses, meaning you need to use some money to, to buy products, buy inventory, and then you sell it at a profit. Now on the other hand, business models like lead generation agencies or social media marketing agencies, or copywriting or sales, all these different things, they are what's called service based businesses. Where you are selling a service, you're learning a very specific skill and you're selling that as a service to other people who you could potentially help. Those are the differences, right? And some people, they prefer product based businesses over service based businesses, right? For example, some people, they're kind of shy on the camera or they really do not want to create content. In those cases, maybe a product based business might logistically make more sense for them than a service based business where they might have to create content or show their face and put themselves out on the Internet. Right? These are, this is kind of what I mean by logistically makes sense. And you also got to evaluate kind of Your skillset and your experiences as well. Right? Because obviously service based businesses is significantly easier to start if you're a complete beginner and you just don't really know what you're doing, you don't really have any relevant experience or really any skills. You should probably learn a skill and sell that as a service before you go into product based businesses. Because obviously product based businesses have significantly more risk because you got to buy inventory. Right? But the most important thing you have to understand is every business works. So the question shouldn't be does dropshipping work? Does SMMA work? Does lead generation agencies work? That shouldn't be your question. The question should be, is now that I know that lead generation agencies work, how simple is it to succeed for me? How simple is it to succeed with drop shipping is it for me? That should be your question, right? And you want to evaluate that by understanding how much skill is required to actually make money. So again, right, Drop shipping, it's a really, it's a business model that kind of blew up around in the 2010s, 2015, that type of time, and obviously right now in 2024, it's significantly harder to succeed in dropshipping than what it took back 10 years ago. But that's not to say it doesn't work because drop shipping still works. It just requires more skill to actually make money than it did 10 years ago. That's kind of what you have to understand is how much skill is actually required to actually succeed and make money with your specific business vehicle. If you're starting from zero, starting from scratch, starting from no experience, how much effort does it actually take to get to a point where you can successfully make money? And every single business model is, is slightly different. Some business models you're able to pick up quicker and succeed quicker and much easier than other business models. And that's just the truth. And once you believe that the business model you're in or the business model that you're trying to get into actually works, there are really two ways to go about it. The first way is to learn for free, right? Where you're trading your time to learn. And there's a lot of different resources out there. You can use YouTube, Google, read books, read blogs, use ChatGPT. And the second way is to learn from an expert, right? So buying different courses, buying different mentorships, do investing into yourself with money to learn much quicker and to shortcut your path. And that's really the two ways that you can learn in any business model. It doesn't matter what you're trying to do. But most importantly, the most important thing you have to do is actually just take action. Because you can learn everything there is to know about dropshipping, but unless you drop ship yourself, you're not really going to learn as fast or learn at all, right? Same as lead generation agencies, same as smma, same with anything else. You can learn about cooking pasta, you can watch all these different YouTube videos about how to cook the best pasta in the world, but until you're actually in the kitchen stirring the pot and cooking the pasta, it's all kind of useless. And the most effective way is to learn by failing for it. So that's the first belief you have to have, is believing that the business model that you're in or the business that you're looking to start actually works. The second aspect is kind of just believing in yourself. And this might sound kind of stupid, but, but it's 100% true, right? Do you actually believe you have what it takes to succeed in the business? If you're starting a lead generation agency, do you believe that you can make money that you could get to, you can sign your first client, get to $5,000 a month, get to $10,000 a month? You need to have that belief, and it's an internalized belief where literally no one could tell you that you could do it. You have to believe it down to your very core, right? I can't just tell you you have to believe in yourself and you suddenly believe that you have what it takes. That's not how it works. You, you gotta just internalize the belief and truly, truly, truly believe that you have what it takes to succeed with the business model that you're choosing, right? And a really important hack, right? And this is possibly one of the most important lessons that I've learned in business, is you want to look at everything in business as a series of skills that need to be developed. So I actually put together this diagram earlier today, right? As you can see, this is the stick figure. This will represent you. And this is where you are right now. You're at level one. And let's say in order to make money in the business as a lead generation agency or drop shipping, whatever you're in this money bag is whatever your goal is. So let's say $10,000 per month, making $10,000 per month selling lead generation as a service. Now there's a massive gap between where you're at right now, which is over here, and where $10,000 is. And if you just look at it as an over a grand goal. It might be very overwhelming and you might not know how to get there, it might confuse you, you might start getting a lot of uncertainty, a lot of doubts or. But what you should do is look at it as skills, right? There are a bunch of tiny skills inside the lead generation agency business model that once you learn and once you master, you'll be easily making $10,000 per month, right? So right now you're at level one and you need to get to level two, level three, level four. And once you get past level four, that's when you're actually making money or at $10,000 per month, Right. It's kind of like a video game character where when you first start a video game, your character just kind of sucks because it doesn't have that much skills. It sucks at all these different things. But as you play that video game more and you develop your character in the video game, after a while your character will start leveling up and before you know it, it'll be pretty easy to win and beat the video game. And that's the exact same thing and the exact same lens that you want to look at in business is look at the tiny skills inside the business and develop those skills. And the more developed those skills are, the more money you you make, right? And as a business as a whole, the easiest way to do this is to think about the business and think about all the tiny skills that you have to develop in order to successfully make money. So for example, instead of a lead generation agency, what are those skills? Well, the skill is learning how to code emails and code emails effectively how to sell your service. Those are two skills in dropshipping, I might be how to do product research in an effective way, right? How do you have to learn how to do marketing, got to do operations, warehouse fulfillment, you know, all of that random stuff. And SMMA is learning how to run paid ads, learning sales, learning how to do outreach. These are all tiny skills that you look at the business and you break it down into each of these individual skills and you level yourself up in cold emails or in sales, then obviously you will be at $10,000 per month, right? If you're at level five at cold emails and you're level five at sales, it'll be pretty easy to book sales calls and then close those sales calls and actually make money. And before you know it, you'd be at $10,000 per month. So this was kind of like a brain hack for me. And once I started looking at business like this where it's a series of skills and I just got to level up my character, it made succeeding and making money in business significantly easier. And this goes without saying that the more skilled you become, the more money you will make. Obviously, the person that you see online who's making hundreds of thousands of dollars, who's making millions of dollars, the reason they're making significantly more money than where you are right now is, is because they're simply more skilled. They're just better at selling their service than you, they are better at cold emails than you, whatever the case is, they're simply more skilled and as a result they're making more money than you. Right? It's pretty simple stuff. And understand that the hardest part of the entire journey is going from level one to level two, right? So when you're in level one, this is where you are, where, let's say you're learning about the business for the first time, you're understanding how everything works, how everything ties together, how you can actually make money. Level 2 might be sending cold emails for the first time, it might be taking your first few sales calls and maybe you suck a little bit, but that's just part of the journey. And the hardest path is to go from level one to level two, right? Going from zero towards making your very first dollar online. I'm not talking about making 5k or making 10k. I'm talking about signing your first client or making your first dollar, your first sale in a drop shipping store. That's the hardest part. And once you're able to get your first client, getting to $10,000 per month is way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way easier than getting your first client. And that's just the way it works. Because once you go from zero so where you are right now towards signing your first client, now you have that internalized belief and you have that confidence that this stuff works, that everything you've been doing over the last few weeks, last few months, has been working. And now you just kind of got to buckle down, repeat that process and do whatever you did to get your first client and just do that five times more and you will be at $10,000 per month, right? It's pretty simple stuff. And that's just how business works, right? And again, results compound after you get past level one. So if it takes someone 90 days to go from zero to $10,000 per month in their lead generation agency, what that really looks like in practice is maybe the first 60 days they're going from zero to their first client. And let's say they get the first client on day 60, which is the two month mark. Well, now from the second month to the third month, from the 60th day to the 90th day, they get another four clients. And now they're at 10k per month. So when you zoom out and look at that 90 day period that it went from zero to $10,000 in 90 days. But what that actually looked like was the first 60 days, the first 60% of that was going from zero towards the first client. And once they got their first client, it took them another month to get to $10,000. And that's the way it works in business. And you have to understand that. Now what are some of the variables that determine how quickly you can succeed, how quickly you can actually make money with any business? Well, I kind of narrowed it down to four different variables. Now on the top left is the skill level you start from. Everyone starts from somewhere else. Some people are just better at things than other people in a very specific skill. That's just the way it is. On the right is the pace of development, so how quickly you're able to learn whatever it is that you're learning. The third one is the quality of the information, right? So how good is the information that you're learning from? Does it actually work? Does it not? Right. If you're buying courses and you're buying courses that teach strategies that worked five years ago, obviously the quality of information is simply not as good as if you bought a course from someone who is actively making money today. Right? That pretty straightforward quality information. And finally, speed of action. Because what happens is you can have the best quality information. But if you're just watching these courses or watching these YouTube videos and you're not actually doing it yourself, it really doesn't matter because you're still not going to make money. These are the four variables that will determine how quickly you can succeed and make money in any business. So I decided to use an example. Let's use Elon Musk, right? Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla. He has a lot of businesses, but I guarantee that if he went out and started another business tomorrow from scratch, he would see success very, very quickly if you just went out and started a brand new business. And the reason why is if we plug in this variables, right? Number one, he has experience in other businesses. So the skill level that he starts from is already at level five versus most people who might be at level one or level two, he's at level five. So his natural Skill level is already significantly higher. And he was able to build that up because he's ran previous businesses. Right? Now the second one is he can hire industry experts who are just really knowledgeable and are truly experts at whatever it is that they specialize in. So the quality of information is really, really high. And finally, he has insanely quick speed of action because he can hire a massive team to implement whatever information that he's getting. He get hired, he could go and hire 100 engineers to build the next car. And as a result, his speed of action is extremely quick. But a caveat that you have to understand is everyone has a different timeline. So while you might go out online and you might find someone who was able to go from 0 to 10k in 30 days, and when you're doing it yourself and at the 30 day mark, you're still struggling to sign your first client, it's very easy to fall into that trap of comparison. But you have to really understand that everyone has a different timeline. So as an example, I decided to use basketball players because I love basketball, I watch a lot of NBA. And let's use basketball players as an example. Understand that some basketball players are naturally skilled at a young age, right? If we look at someone like LeBron James, even when he was 18 years old, he was really, really good. While some other NBA players in the league right now, when they're 18 years old, they weren't that great, but then they slowly developed and became really, really good at a later age, right? So everyone starts at a different skill level, even at the NBA. Now the second variable is player development, right? Some NBA players develop quicker than others. So for example, some undrafted NBA players, when they come into the league, they don't look like they have that much potential or that, that good. But then they put in the work and then they develop really, really quickly and before you know it, they become all stars, right? There's plenty of cases. You could go and search this up yourself because everyone develops at a slightly different pace or different timeline. Now the third one is quality of trainers, quality of the drill, quality of the coaches on the team, right? That represents quality of information. Some teams just have better trainers than others. Some teams have better coaches than others, and as a result, it helps players learn and develop much, much quicker, right? That's a massive, massive thing. And then finally is how much should they practice. So obviously this is the work ethic thing where we always hear stories of like Kobe Bryant, where he's always at the gym and as a result, because he's always practicing. His speed of implementation, his speed of action is extremely quick. And anything that he learns, any drills, he's able to master it 10 times quicker than a lot of other people simply because he's just doing it. And he's doing it really, really quickly or practicing really frequently. And that's how you plug in those four variables. So as you're watching this video, keep this matrix in mind, these four variables in mind and this will determine how quickly or your timelines to actually make money in any business. Right? So to wrap up this video as final thoughts, understand that good things take time. That if you, if your goal is to make $10,000 in a month or make six figures a year, understand that that will not happen overnight. It just won't. And anyone who tells you that you could go to sleep tomorrow and wake up and be a six figure earner without doing anything, they're just selling you a dream, a get rich quick scheme. So good things take time. And you have to believe in the business model that you're in because if you don't believe it, then obviously it's just simply not going to work. But understand again that every business works. It's just how you work inside of that business that determines their success. You have to believe that you have what it takes to, to actually do it, to actually succeed. Because if you don't believe that you could do it, then you're simply not. It's literally that simple. And the final thing is focus on developing the skills that is actually needed to succeed. So that's kind of what I wanted to share in today's video. Pretty quick. I was at the coffee shop and I actually just thought about this and decided to put this on kind of like a diagram over here. And when I got home I just turned on my camera and started filming this. So no script or anything like that, but hope you found this video valuable. Hope you liked it. If you did, make sure you drop me a subscribe.
