Jimmy Fung walks through results for a Toronto recruitment agency during hiring freezes and layoffs. He shares real Slack messages showing client wins like VMware and Interlink Mortgage, and explains why he anonymizes most details to protect clients from spam.
Hey, hope you're doing well. It's Jimmy here. Wanted to shoot this quick video to walk you through one of our case studies. One of the, One of our massive client wins that we've had for one of our clients. Right. So just to give you some background information, background context, this client, he runs a recruitment agency based out of Toronto, Canada. I'm also based out of Toronto, Canada as well. But pretty much he recruits inside the tech and the financial industries. So what's important about this is we have, I'm sure we have all heard the, you know, the massive news. How massive companies like Google, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, not only are they on hiring freezes, but they're actively doing mass layoffs as well. I think all of those companies laid off around 10% of the staff. So the reason I'm telling you this is because despite the massive disruptions inside those two industries, the we were still able to get our client results and help them land paying clients. Right. So just to jump right into the Slack messages, I have permission from him to show this, but I will be blurring out his full name and some of the messages for privacy reasons. So on Friday, January 20th, he shoot me. He shot me a message on Slack. He said, hey Jimmy, I hope you're doing well. Wanted to give you a quick update on my current situation. I fired my existing cold email agency. They were just not getting the results that I needed. So when we started working with him in the beginning of January, he mentioned to me how he was also working with another Legion agency. They weren't necessarily getting the results, but he still wanted to give it a couple more weeks to see if anything would come out of it. Right. And then he started working with us, I guess mainly to compare our performance, compare our results. Exact same industries, exact same verticals. Right. So what this told me was he was just not satisfied with the results and he decided to work with us. So pretty, pretty happy about that. When I first saw this message after that, on February 6th, pretty shortly after that, around two weeks after he messaged me saying that he fired his old agency, he mentioned, hey Jimmy, I hope you enjoyed your weekend. We signed VMware. We're one of one. So for those who don't know, go search up VMware. Massive, massive enterprise level company. Tens of thousands of companies, couple billions of dollars in revenue and publicly listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Right. So they're inside the tech industry and we were still able to land Mohamed client inside the tech space. But not just any client, enterprise level client. So you know, these are the clients that you know will pay you good money, right, for your services because they have budget. So that's what we were able to do with them. Shortly after that. Not only that, though, on February 17, around a week after that, he messaged me, Interlink Mortgage just signed. We're two of two, right? So Interlink Mortgage, they're inside the financial services industry. So another industry that might be a bit tough right now to recruit in. But we were still able to actively get him results. So just wanted to shoot this quick video to go over, you know, go over the, you know, what we're able to do for Muhammad for this, you know, recruitment agency client. Basically these are real slack messages, so you can see for yourself. And the reason I wanted to shoot this is because when I'm jumping on these calls with different B2B company owners, sometimes I get asked, can you please set up a 10 minute Zoom call with your clients? And in the past, especially when I was first starting out a couple of years ago, I would say yes, but now it's getting to a point where it's just not possible. Right. I'm not able to set up those 10 minute calls anymore for a pretty simple reason. Because me setting up those 10 minute calls or me giving you those contacts and you messaging my clients, this is not value added activity for their business. Right. Most of our clients, they're doing at least multiple five figure months. Some of our clients are doing multi six figure months. Right. So they're very busy people. And jumping on 10 minute calls with people they know absolutely nothing about, it's not helping them make more money in their business. That's pretty, that's pretty much what it is. It's as simple as that. So I'm not able to hook you up with, you know, 10 minute calls, share you those details. And the reason why I, you know, all our names, all the companies, things like that are blurred out on a website and the blurred out in this exact video as well is because you don't want to be this guy. So back in the days I had everything open. So like all the names, the, the company, the clients I was working with, the names of the people, and this guy Joel, he actually messaged my client, right. This is just one of the many. Right. And I get it, right. You have to do your own due diligence. But hopefully you can imagine how annoying this is for my client, right? If every time he opens LinkedIn for the purposes of conducting business and helping himself make more money, helping his business grow all his messages are spam messages of, hey, I was approached by Jimmy. Do you know who this guy is? Right. So he sent me this message. And just not a good look, right? From, you know, from someone with clients. Just not a good look. He was able to share. Right. Just to show you he was able to share a pretty good testimonial anyways, because Muhammad's a pretty nice guy, but, you know, I don't want to put him the trouble of mess, you know, spending his time messaging my potential leads for this. Right. You know, he still mentioned, hey, Jimmy, you should be able to book a call with Joel. Right? So another reason why I don't share the specific names of the people I work with anymore is because. And hopefully you understand, right, is even, for example, for Joel, he went out of his way to contact my clients, but guess what? He never booked a call with us. Right? So that's what happens, right. Anytime we set up these meetings where I'm the middleman between our leads and our clients, we run the risk of not only taking the time out of my client's time to chat with you, but if you don't end up, like, turning into, like, a client of ours, it's quite literally wasted time for every single person involved. You, me, and my client. So that's really the reason why everything is blurred out. I hope you understand, and hopefully this quick video shines some transparency onto what we're doing. And hopefully you understand, right? But that's really the reason why I wanted to shoot this quick, quick video to really show you directly what our results are looking like directly inside the Slack channels. These are all real messages, different things like that. But, yeah, that's pretty much what I wanted to share with you on this video. Have an awesome day. Thank you. Bye. Bye.
