pov: traveling europe while building a business (vlog)

A first-person travel vlog (May 2024) by Jimmy Fung documenting a 14-day trip through Portugal and Spain while running his online lead-generation agency remotely. The video mixes travel footage and city impressions (Lisbon, Porto, Valencia, Ibiza, Barcelona) with business updates: revenue milestones, client campaign performance, and reflections on stepping away from intensive day-to-day work to regain focus.

She see money all around me hello, everyone. My name is Jimmy Fung. Today we have a little bit of a different video because what I'm going to be trying today is we're going to be trying to vlog, because what I'm going to be doing today is I'm actually flying over to Portugal and Spain. I'm in Canada right now. I'm in Toronto, the Toronto Pearson Airport, so the biggest airport in Canada. And we're actually going to Portugal and Spain for the next 14 days, right? And I was like, you know what? If I'm gonna be going on a trip, I might as well vlog it and put it on YouTube. If you're seeing this video, it means I successfully vlogged. If you're not seeing this, it means that, you know, the vlogging process just sucked or something like that, right? And I just decided to stop because growing up, right, I'm 23 years old, and I grew up in the era where YouTube was the main source of entertainment. You know, vloggers were super prominent. People like Casey Neistat, people like that, right? So I always kind of wanted to be a YouTuber, kind of wanted to be a vlogger, but never had the ch. So I was like, you know what? This would be an amazing opportunity to show you guys kind of what a day in my life looks like as an entrepreneur. Obviously, I run my own business, and I'm kind of just leaving for two weeks to go on a trip, right? This is a trip for fun. I'm not going for business or. Or families, and I'm just going with some of my friends, some of the boys, you know what I mean? So I'm just gonna bring you guys along with the trip. I'm gonna be vlogging. I actually went out yesterday and bought a new camera. So I'm not vlogging this from my Sony camera or from my iPhone. I'm using a DJI Osmo Pocket 3. So let me know in the comments down below if it's good, if the quality is good, the mic is good, stuff like that. I saw it popping on you on TikTok. It was just all over my feed. I was like, screw it. Let me just go and. And pick it up, right? And bring it along with me to Spain and Portugal. So right now I'm in the airport. I just checked in. We're waiting for our flight to start boarding, and I'm going to do more vlogging once we are arriving. I think the other reason why I wanted to vlog well is because obviously I run my own business, it's an online business and a lot of people, myself included, when I first started my business, I was really drawn into the appeal of being able to make money anywhere in the world. So over the next 14 days, because I'm really going for basically half a month where, you know, ideally I wouldn't be working, you're just going to see exactly how it works. I'm pretty curious as well to see how much money I make. Right. Because obviously my involvement in the business is going to be pretty minimal. I'm still going to be taking some calls here and there, maybe for like half an hour a day, maybe an hour a day. But obviously because I'm going on a trip just to have fun, be stressed, I don't want to be working for like six, seven, eight hours a day. Right. Because leading up to this trip over the last few months, I've been scaling pretty hard for my businesses. There are days where I literally work for over 10 hours a day. Obviously that's not. No, that's not every single day. Right. I'm not saying like some do some Gary Vee stuff, you know, working for like 10, 11, 12 hours every single day, but there are days where I'm working for 10, 11, maybe even 12 hours. And I've just been aggressively scaling the business. Right. Last month in April, we hit record all time months in terms of revenue. Made the most amount of money that I've ever made in a single month. And I'd be curious to see what that would look like for this month. Right. So as I'm going through this trip with you guys, I'm just going to be sharing with you the money that I make and what that kind of looks like. Right. So even just for Today, today is May 2nd, right. I'm just going to flip my camera around and as we can see that today, hopefully this focuses. I made $5,000 today. To start the month, I made $6,000. So today is obviously May 2nd, right. So in the first two days of May I made $6,000, which is pretty good, Right. I do expect to make a lot less money than I did last month because obviously last month I was super involved in the business, taking, taking calls, talking with clients, dealing with issues, talking, just stuff like that. Right. And obviously again, right, for the purposes of the trip, I'm not going to be doing that, but glad to have you guys all here and bringing you guys all along with me. All right, see ya. Yo, Nathan, what do you have to say? Bro, I'm excited, man. I'm excited. It's time in Europe. All right, so we actually made it to Portugal. Right now I'm in Lisbon, Portugal, and I actually forgot to bring the camera with me. So I left it at the Airbnb that we're staying at and right before dinner. So right now I just had dinner. We went back to the house, to the Airbnb to grab, you know, I was grabbing the camera, so that's why I'm recording this. So right now we just, actually we're eating dinner and I just popped out to, to film this. But overall, Lisbon has been pretty nice. I think it is a very beautiful city. A lot of walking, but it's really, really good. And overall it's a really, really nice area. So I'm just going to show some videos next day. What are your first thoughts on Porto? It's breathtaking. Yo, everyone here loves to run, eh? Alright, so today is day three, where we are actually in Porto. So we took a train out of Lisbon earlier this morning and now we're in Porto. So very, very nice city actually. But we arrived in Porto, it was a very heavy rainstorm. I actually had to buy a poncho to keep myself dry. We went back to the house. It's another Airbnb and I'm not gonna lie, I took a nap for three hours. And here we are. Got a foreign as the police car, a BMW. It's pretty proper. Later that same evening, here we have five sheets with that mostly. Hello, everyone. So today is day four. I think I kind of lost track. So we are back in Porto. It is actually around 2pm right now. And this morning we went wine tasting, which was really, really fun. Got a little bit tipsy, you know, early in the morning and then we just had brunch, which is pretty good. So today what I think what we're gonna do because the weather is just really, really nice, as you can see behind me. I think what we're gonna do is we're just gonna walk around Porto, tour around, see, see what's up and all of that stuff. Last night we also drank some wine and I guess wine is a really big thing here in Europe, in Canada. It's, you know, it's not as prominent. There's not really as many like wine tastings, things like that. And I think that's the biggest thing about Europe. What I realized is all the people here in Europe are just super, super nice, right? And I don't know, like, it's just a. It's just a vibe. Hey, hope you're doing well. My name is Jimmy Fung, and if you've been following my channel, then you probably realize that this video is a little bit different because as you can see, I'm actually on a roof here in Porto, Portugal. So just about to go get dinner. This is actually our last day in Porto because tomorrow at 10am we're actually taking a flight to head over to Madrid, Spain. Right? So we're actually getting dinner. We're facing the beach. We're doing it over dinner. And it's just an amazing view. So I'm actually just going to turn my camera around and show you what that looks like. Hey. So I'm actually in Valencia in Spain, right you can see behind me, I actually have a water because it's super, super hot. It's almost 30 degrees Celsius. I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit, but it's almost 30 degrees Celsius. It's really, really nice out here. We just took the train and we came from Madrid earlier this morning, checked into the Airbnb and now I think this is like the central town area of Valencia. We're going to be here today, tomorrow, and then we're actually going to go out to Ibiza right after that. But super, super nice. It is very, very hot, a lot of people as well. And I think the vibes of this place is a little bit different from Madrid as well, because I think Madrid was a little bit more like. I don't know what the word to explain it, but there seems to be like a little bit more like culture here, if that makes sense, where like the Spanish culture is just a little bit more like baked in. Madrid was kind of like a city vibe, where it was just a lot of shopping, stuff like that. Over here, it's more like cultural, if that makes sense. It's more unique. And I think that is kind of the main difference I've noticed so far between Valencia and Madrid. I was actually at the bar and be also right. And I also found out that one of the clients. So right before I came to this trip to Europe from Canada at my own business, my own lead generation agency, we actually took on a new client. He runs a SaaS, a software company, and we started the campaigns, I think the day after, I just flew here. So on I came here on May 2nd. So we launched a campaigns on May 3rd. So it's been around a week, it's been six days. It is May 9th and we're just Ripping calls, right? We booked him almost 11 calls. Yeah, we booked him 11 calls. And we're charging him $400, right? So we made like a ton of money, right? We made four or five thousand dollars since that campaign started. And the craziest part is I'm actually here on a trip halfway across the world on a completely different continent. And I'm still, you know, the business is still running, things are going well, clients are getting great results. And I think this is kind of what most people kind of think of when they try to build an online business, right? It's the potential to make money while, you know, chilling around the world, right. Doing, you know, God knows what. And I think it's exceptional feeling. Hey, so today we are in Valencia. Basically today we are headed to the aquarium and to the museums. I'm not gonna lie. I'm just not the biggest fan of museums or aquariums. That's just for me. But seeing that we are here, seeing that I literally flew halfway across the world to come here, I was like, all right, let's go and check it out. So I'm going to be showing you some clips of the aquarium and the museum. Hey, so welcome to today's video. In today's video, I just wanted to talk a little bit about. All right, so we are actually headed for dinner now. Right now it is around 7:30. We got to the beach at around 5 o'. Clock. So around two hours ago. As you can see over here is the beach. We were just there. And it's actually a really nice beach because unfortunately up in Canada we just don't have beaches like this. Right. It's usually a little bit cold. I think back in Canada right Now it's around 15 degrees. Over here is around 25 to 30 degrees Celsius. So it's a lot warmer. The weather here is amazing. It's actually one of the better beaches that I've ever been to as well, because when I went to la, when I went to Miami, there are beaches like this. But then in Canada there just isn't beaches like this at all. And the palm trees are really, really nice as well. So we're actually headed over for dinner right now, about to eat while watching the sunset. I think the sun sets here at around 9pm, which is also really, really nice because in Canada it sets around 7:30 to 8. But I'll see you guys there. See ya. So I'm actually at the restaurant. I just wanted to show you guys the view really quick. So I actually whipped up my camera Just for this. But look, that's the beach that we were on earlier. And then it's just facing the water, right. And the weather, as you can see, is just very, very beautiful. Very, very nice. One of the best looking restaurants. Let's just see how good the food actually. T All right, so I'm actually back in Toronto. I actually didn't end up finishing the rest of the rest of the Spain vlog because I guess, you know, vlogging is just not for me. Right. I guess that's the end of my Casey Neistat dream. But hope you enjoyed this vlog. It's definitely a little bit of a different style. I wanted to give you a little bit of behind the scenes, show you kind of a, you know, who I am, you know what I'm about, that type of thing. So I think the last clip that I had was me in Valencia, Spain. After that we went to Ibiza and then we went to Barcelona, and that was kind of where we last left off in the vlog, in the videos. So that's about it. Personally, I think over the course of this 14 day trip, my favorite city, if I was to rank it, was Portal, Portugal. I just really like the architecture of just the buildings, how everything looks, the streets and things like that. My next favorite was Ibiza, you know, for. Because it's just, you know, the livelihood and stuff like that. And then I think at the bottom, unfortunately, might be Valencia, because I think, you know, it's not that it's bad. I think it was just not as good as some of the other, you know, other places that I was able to go. But over the period of this trip, it also also gave me a lot of good insights because I think when you are scaling your business and you're growing really aggressively the way I have from, you know, from the start of this year, from January up until pretty much until I left the trip, I was just, you know, heads down every single day, wake up at my desk, just putting in work every single day, thinking about how I could continue growing the business and things like that and being able to step away, even if it was just for a few days or two weeks. In my case, I was able to come back and I'm able to now really just lock in. I have regained motivation. I know exactly what I need to do. Because being away, obviously I wasn't working every single day in the business, right. Like, I took a few calls, but nothing too crazy. I wasn't taking like five, six calls a day. I maybe took like, I Think over the course of the trip, I probably took like four or five calls in total. Right. So being able to do that in a position where I wasn't really working that much, I was able to kind of see what was working in the business, what was not working that well. And now that I'm back, I'm able to see okay. So this is what I have to focus on. This is what is good. Maybe I'm good with that for a minute. This is why you bring into the team, into the business. So that's pretty, pretty much it. Hope you enjoyed this video again. Right. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to finish recording the rest of the trip. You know, vlogging is just not for me. I just ended up, you know, just leaving the camera at home and stuff like that. Because what I feel personally is if you are vlogging, a massive congrats to you. Right. Because it's definitely not for everyone. Because I'm someone who, you know, when I'm enjoying things, especially while my vacation, I kind of want to just live in the moment. But I think when you're vlogging, you kind of have to stop and be like, oh, shoot, I kind of pull out my camera and know, talk a little bit about it or film a little bit about it. And that just personally wasn't really, really my style. Right. But hope you enjoyed this video. If you do, make sure you drop me a. Like, make sure you drop me a. Subscribe and I'll see you in the next one. See ya.
