Izzy Kiver explains how to separate what you can control from what you can't. Write down three goals, then rewrite the ones outside your control into actionable steps you can actually take, like turning "double my salary" into researching higher-paying roles and preparing for interviews.

Hi, my name is Izzy Kiver, and I wanted to record a short video to talk about how to stay afloat when everything is just falling apart in your life. I have a close friend, he's actually working with Coe right now. His name is Misha. He's over in Ukraine. And he explained to me how he has learned something very important that is focus on your circle of influence, of what you can actually do, or your internal locus of control and everything that is outside of your circle of influence. Call your circle of worry. Just try pushing that aside and deleting it. Sit down and figure out, the things that I have in my life, are they within my circle of control? Are they within my circle of influence? Or are these things that I'm worrying about without actually being able to change? He told me that the best piece of advice he's received that he was able to use in order to overcome this feeling of anxiety, this feeling of worry, his own mortality, was by thinking of the worst thing that can happen and just accepting it as if it already happened. And the minute he did that, the minute he essentially let go of this feeling of control or trying to control the outcome or the situation, it brought a certain level of peace to him. The anxiety went away, the worry went away of what's going to happen next. All of this dissipated because he stopped focusing on what he cannot control and what he cannot influence. And he directed his thought and his mind to the things that he can actually navigate and change in his life. An example of this that you can apply in your life is if someone is bothering you, whether it's a friend, a spouse, a stranger, you come to realize you cannot change their behavior directly. What you can do, however, is you can change your response and the way you're going to react to it. It's the same thing with our health. You can't directly just snap your fingers and then change your triglyceride levels. You can't change your health directly instantly, but what you can do is you can change your lifestyle, your behaviors, your habits, go to the gym more often, eat healthier foods. And by doing those things, by changing our habits and behaviors, we can then influence the outcome that we're looking for. And you can apply this to really any area of your life. So what I want you to do is either think in your mind or if you're on your phone right now anyway, right? Jot down in your favorite note app the three things that you want to change the most or that you've been wanting for the last couple of months or the last year or so, Write those three things down. And after you've written them down, I want you to pause for a second and think, are these things within my circle of control, or are these things within my circle of worry, things that I cannot directly control? If you find that there are items on that list that are in your circle of worry, I want you to rewrite them in a way that they are within your circle of control. Let me give you an example of this. Let's say you want to 2x your salary. Yeah. You're making 70,000 a year. You want to be making 140. Instead of writing I wanted 2x my salary, I want to change that to a circle of influence statement and say I am going to do research about positions that pay two times what I make right now so that I will be ready to interview and to qualify for those positions and do whatever is necessary in order to achieve that. If you've enjoyed this video and you want to learn new ways to activate your mind to bring you closer to your goals, live a happier and more fulfilling life, comment Koa and I will send you resources to help you get started on your path. Thank you and stay great.
