The First Teaching — Positive Mental Attitude

Izzy Kiver teaches the first of seven teachings: cultivating a positive mental attitude rooted in the mind's power to shape reality. Drawing on the Talmudic saying "Gam zu latova" (this too is for the best), Kiver argues that accepting all experiences as ultimately good transforms perception and neurochemistry, making it the most crucial teaching.

Welcome, my dear child, to the Seven Teachings. It's with a heavy heart I say this. This may be my last day. I want to share with you a gift that has shown me purpose, has helped me overcome grief, regret, and pain that I've been living with for the last 10 years. Today I want to share the first of the Seven Teachings with you, which is positive mental attitude.
You might hear this often, or maybe even as a gesture: Stay positive, everything will be okay. But the words don't hold any meaning, do they? It's just people saying things to say things. Today I want to share the first teaching of them all, the teaching of how to embrace a positive mental attitude in everything that you do, because it's your mind The power of your mind that allows you to create the reality which you want, which creates the reality in which you live in. Having a positive mental attitude is not simply something that you say or try to do. It's something which you must be. You must be a person that exudes this concept of positivity. In everything that you do. You have an internal faith, an internal sense of being, of calm, knowing that whatever happens, whatever the world throws at you, wherever you might end up, you know that's going to be okay. There's a story in the Talmud about Nachman Ish Gamzu. He would always say, "Gam zu latova." This too is for the best. And it's interesting because there's another way to interpret difficult things that happen. King Solomon would say, "Gam zayavor." This too shall pass. Different, but similar. This too shall pass is embracing the pain, understanding that things are difficult. They're not like they're always, not like I'm used to, but I understand that this too shall pass. This too is for the best, I would say, is a progression of that. If you're ever experiencing difficulty or any pain in your life, I want you to understand that it is you for the best. It's for the best because it's the best that could have happened. It's the best thing that could have happened in your life, in the life of everyone around you. You are the main character in the game which we are playing. The simulation as it stands exists only because of your mind. So if you accept that everything around you is perfect Even when it does not seem that way, if you accept that all of life and all of creation, all of God's creation which you have created, manifested for yourself, is good, then it is good. It is only when you allow your mind to focus on the negative aspects of things where things truly become less than positive. I want you to really embrace this teaching, really understand and go deep on the first one. I didn't place a first by accident. It is the most important teaching of all of the Seven Teachings. Must embrace a positive mental attitude. Have complete faith in yourself, complete faith in your vision and in your everyday and the people around you. Because only a positive mental attitude can change your neurochemistry, your biology, transform any illness or disease into health and wellness. Can take even the poorest person the poorest person and make them rich, and the richest person and make them happy beyond belief. That is why my gift to you today is a positive mental attitude. Take it with you and take it far.
