Jack Conte performs "These Days," a song that cycles between paranoia and hope. The lyrics dig through fleeting moments of sunrise and sunset while wrestling with waiting for nothing, trash cans full of paranoia, and the search for meaning in everyday repetition.

Chapters

These days shakes our lives. In comes exceptional, but at least non-zero. Dark Guide bags those trash cans full of paranoia. Face it on me. Space is some, some, some, some zero to zero. Every day is a temporary expectation. And dig up every pawn of hope that's left. Sunrise, sunset, it's all that matters. It's all that matters. I'm so impatient. I'm fucking waiting for nothing. No, nothing's coming. On a clothesline. Barry! Numbers and batteries. Dig up any flesh that's left. Sunrise sunset. Let's be lifted, lifted.
