Jacqueline Elliott and a co-speaker discuss balancing work, family, and health. They emphasize being present where you are, committing fully to work, investing in relationships, and treating fun as necessary rather than optional.
You can have it all. You can have a great business, you can have your health, you can have your family. You can have everything you want in life.
Everything that's worth it is going to be hard. You're going to have to fight for what you really believe in.
Be exactly where your feet are. Don't be thinking about work when you're not at work. When you're at work, give it all you got at work.
Those people that are with you, including your spouses, including your family, including your kids, all those people will come back and they will support you. If you do things the right way.
And be relational and not transactional. By being relational, you will develop more relationships around you then you know what to do with. Fun isn't a luxury. Fun should be a necessity. Fun should be something that you need. You complain to the wrong people, you find sympathy. You give up on your dreams and you're toast. You're done. You need to be strong and you need to know what you really want and do not complain about it. Do the shit you really love. There's a bigger vision and you have to understand what that looks like and go kill it. You guys deserve it.
