A short motivational talk (YouTube video by Jacqueline Elliott, July 21, 2024) addressing working mothers' guilt about not spending ‘enough’ time with their children. The speaker reframes the issue: quantity of time is less important than being present and intentional during interactions. She gives examples (mothers who spend many hours with kids but are distracted vs. making brief focused time feel deeply meaningful).

How many of you women feel like you're not giving enough to your families because you're working all the time? There's women that come up to me and say, I feel guilty because I don't spend enough time with my kids. And then I ask them, hey, how much time are you spending with your kids? They tell me, well, two hours. And I'm like, two hours. I'm like, that's unbelievable. Two hours. I see a lot of women that spend two, four, five, even all day with their kids and not on. They're not intentional with their time. They get home and they're thinking about somebody else there or something else, or thinking about work or social media. They're not even paying attention to their kids. Their kids are running around, around, and they don't even know them. And they're with them all day. I can be with my kids 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes, 10 minutes, and I make them feel like they're the most important kids in the whole entire world. That's a problem with people all the time, that they're not where their feet are, they're thinking about something else.
