This YouTube video (by Jacqueline Elliott, uploaded Sept 22, 2023) discusses how entrepreneurs often stall after initial financial success because they lose the risk-taking, hungry mindset that powered early growth. The speaker contrasts a ‘‘broke mentality’’—willingness to take risks, rebuild if needed, and keep learning—with a complacent wealthy mindset that fears losing status; maintaining the broke mentality (speaker and partner “Andy”) is presented as a key to continued scaling.

A lot of times when you start developing wealth, what happens is. And I'm going to smaller numbers because I talk to a lot of people. But if, like, a lot of people go from, like, zero to 400,000, for example. Right. Yeah. And they're like, you know, they work really hard when they don't have the money. They're like, oh, I'm gonna prove myself. I'm gonna build my name. I'm gonna put in the work. I have nothing to lose. And they go all in. And then they make that 400,000, and then they stay stagnant, and they're like, two years later, they're still at 400,000. They can't figure out scale. Yes. And it's because they don't take those same risks anymore. They don't. They don't feel like they're. They have too much to lose now. Wealth. And they're afraid to start over or prove themselves or even make their name anymore. So I think one of the reasons why we've been able to scale so much lately and we keep growing and growing, has been that we have that broke mentality. We're not entitled. Like, we go back and work hard, like, day one. See, a lot of people are afraid of going broke. Andy and I aren't afraid of going broke. We know that if we lost everything today, we would rebuild. We're afraid of going backwards. We're afraid of not learning. We're afraid of.
