A salesman describes pushing through a brutal day by ignoring a colleague's advice to quit, finding a customer, and closing a sale. When everything feels impossible, he says, you keep working until midnight.

Even though that I was pissed off at her for telling me to turn around. I would go turn around. I would go back to work, and I would always sell a car, turn around and go back to work, go find one customer and make it work, and then come home. Trust me, you'll thank me later. And every time, I would turn around because I knew.
I didn't ask him how big was the deal or anything like that. It was like I knew. She's like, you can
call early any day you want, right? But not on days like this, okay? When you're getting your teeth kicked in, those are the days you need to ride it out till midnight.
