Jake Burhans argues that limiting beliefs keep you stuck. Real change requires believing improvement is possible, and that belief has to come from inside you, not from circumstances or other people. Without it, transformation can't happen.

If you fight for your limiting beliefs, you get to keep them. I was talking to a guy the other day about how our God-given talents were given to us because we're meant to use them in the world. We're meant to express ourselves in that way. You know, positive message out here talking about good things. And what does the guy say? Well, that's easy for you to say. You know, for someone has to keep the lights on, has to do this and that, then it's not so easy. You can't just do that. Okay, man. Okay. Then you can't do it. I can't sit here and hold a gun to your head and make you believe anything. Right? You have to believe that it's possible to change no matter how bad your circumstances are, no matter how bad it is. If you don't believe that it can be better, then it can't be better. I can't make it better for you. I can't make you believe anything. So it starts with belief. And I know it's like the cheesy thing, you gotta believe, but you literally have to believe. You have to believe that it's possible to change or nothing will change in your life.
