3 ways that you can quit your overthinking right this second. First is understanding that your brain is designed to think thoughts. It's never going to stop thinking thoughts. So the more that you try to fight it, the more you're creating ripples in the pond. The second thing is creating separation from your thoughts. Understand that you are not your thoughts. How do I know you're not your thoughts? Because who's the one that's observing that you're having an angry thought or an anxious thought or a guilty thought? That's your awareness. And thirdly, after you understand that these thoughts are not going to stop and that you're separate from these thoughts, you can start to objectify them and call them out. Instead of saying, "I am anxious," you go, "Oh yeah, there's that thought of anxiety." Instead of, "I am angry," "Oh yeah, there's that angry thought." This practice is going to neutralize the power of those thoughts. Follow for more on how to build your life for peace instead of pressure.
