My day-to-day was a mess. I was losing track of my time left and right, notification here, email there, until I started doing these 3 things. Number 1, time blocking. I use Google Calendar to split up my day into time blocks, and when I'm within these time blocks, I am laser focused. Number 2, I set a timer while I'm in the time block so I don't check texts, emails, or open any new tabs on my computer. I'll set a timer for either 90 minutes or 2 hours. Number 3, I have a distraction pad. Obviously, thoughts pop into my head while I'm working, and It's absolutely vital to have a piece of paper where I can write those thoughts down and then come back to them later when I'm out of the time block. Let me know in the comments what your best tactics are to stay focused.
