Jake Burhans walks through how to calm financial anxiety by remembering you've survived worse. He uses the mantra "If I needed it, I would have it" and points out that even when you've run out of money or lost a home, you found a way through.

That's a good mantra you can tell yourself. If I needed it, I would have it. If I needed it, I would have it. Like, think about it, 'cause a lot of stuff that we worry about is like, maybe it is getting close to the wire with finances or getting close to the wire with whatever. You've always figured it out though. Even if you ran out of money, you talked to someone, you did something, like, you've always figured it out. Even if you lost your house, you've lived, slept in the car, like, you figured it out. Like, yeah, it wasn't ideal by any means, but you figured it out. You didn't die. So we always feel like the wor— It's like, it's almost like we feel like we're gonna die. That's what it is. We run out of money, we're gonna die. Oh my God. No, we're not. You're gonna figure it out. You're gonna figure it out.
