The Breath Is the Most Powerful Tool You Have

In this solo talk, Jake Burhans introduces a four‑minute breathing practice designed to "raise your vibration," which he defines as a person's overall state of being. He explains that vibration (or frequency) is the cascade from thoughts to emotions, then to behaviors, actions, and finally results; shifting this cascade can improve outcomes. Burhans argues that breath is an ancient, portable tool for altering this cascade, and he teaches two specific methods. The primary method is the Wim Hof breathing technique: 30 rapid stomach‑focused inhales, followed by a breath‑hold as long as possible, then a 15‑second inhale hold to oxygenate the body, and an exhale; this sequence constitutes one round, repeated 3‑4 times. He also presents a nasal "fire breath" variation with the same structure. He describes the physiological sensations (tingling in toes, fingertips, head) and the resulting shift to more abundant, loving, peaceful, and grateful thoughts, positioning the practice as a quick, universally applicable way to change one's mental and emotional state.
