Jake Burhans argues success is an infinite game, not a destination. He cites Earl Nightingale's definition: success is the pursuit of a worthy ideal. Wake up each day striving toward something meaningful, and you're already winning.

You know what I'm now realizing as well is that success is an infinite game. Like, you talk about infinite games, whether it be business or health or relationships, an infinite game is something where there is no end destination. You win by being in the game. Like business, you don't win at business, you win by being in business, right? You don't win at health, you win by staying in shape. You don't win at marriage, you win by staying married or staying in a relationship. Same thing with success. If you look at the definition of success by Earl Nightingale, one of the best definitions I've heard, Success is the pursuit of a worthy ideal. So as long as you wake up every day and you're in pursuit of something, you are a success. I think if we can all have that mindset of success is the journey itself, like if you are striving towards something, you are a success right now. It makes it easier, it makes it more enjoyable.
