Jake Burhans argues that real change requires reprogramming your subconscious mind by adopting the identity of who you want to become. You need to act as the identity of the person that you want to become. So the subconscious mind, the nervous system, it loves what's familiar. So if what's familiar for you is suffering and pain and negativity and all this stuff, it doesn't, you know, your subconscious mind isn't trying to, its goal isn't to make you happy. Its goal is to keep you in what's familiar. So if you've conditioned your body over time to think and feel in a certain way, When you try to consciously change, it's like, it's like paddling upstream. But you have to behave in accordance with that version of yourself.
