Jake Burhans realized his personal cold calling was bottlenecking growth. He was avoiding the cost of hiring someone, but figured out that not spending money on a dedicated cold caller costs more. Sometimes you have to spend to scale.
I knew this, but it didn't really sink in until maybe a month ago that me cold calling was severely hindering the growth of our business. Yeah, I may be able to do it better than anyone we hire, at least in my mind, but I can't be doing it forever. And I think it was mainly because I didn't want to spend money on the cold caller, but in the end, takes money to make money.
