This YouTube video (presented by Janet Macaluso, founder of Learning to Lead) outlines the "ABCDE Effective Path to Transformational Change": Active Blending, Cadence, Duration, and Environment. Macaluso describes Active Blending as consciously weaving new skills into daily life (suggested 10–20% effort or ~10% per day); Cadence as regular practice (minimum once a week; sessions of about an hour); Duration as a long-term commitment for deep habits (researchers cited: minimum three years for entrenched patterns like alcoholism or weight loss); and Environment as the social/contextual reinforcers (peer groups, partnerships, change agents such as AA or Weight Watchers). The talk targets both individual and organizational change and closes with a call to subscribe and join the presenter's newsletter.

I've invested decades learning what works and.
What doesn't, so you don't have to.
Hi, I'm Janet Macaluso, the founder of Learning to Lead, and what I want.
To do is share with you a.
Tried and tested research around change.
It's been successful with the most incorrigible cases.
And I mean alcoholism, smoking, delinquency.
So if you have something maybe a.
Little easier, like learning a language exercise routine, social visualization, or even increasing your level of consciousness, you can follow this path. There are four critical components to change, whether it's in organizations or individually.
And I'm calling it my ABCD Effective Path to Transformational Change. AB stands for active blending. C is cadence, D, duration, and E, environment.
Okay.
Active blending.
It means actively thinking about and applying your new way of living. Thinking, deciding, choosing throughout your day, baking.
In the new skills, weaving them in.
Actively blending them throughout your day.
10 to 20%.
No more.
It's about an hour.
C stands for cadence.
Just like learning a new language, showering, exercising.
It's not like something you do once and you're done.
So to leapfrog your potential, you need a rhythmic cadence.
Now, it could be like I mentioned, the active blending.
10% per day, but it needs to.
Be a minimum of once a week.
Where you're going back and practicing, reflecting, learning, pulling that golden thread through.
D stands for duration and for really tough change.
Alcoholism, weight loss, organizational change. The researchers found it takes a minimum of three years to change those habitual.
Patterns that have been hardwired into our brains.
And that's because we don't want to.
Revert back and fall back to the old patterns that have been ingrained and integrated into our brain.
Finally, environment.
They say we're the average of the.
Five closest people in our lives, whether.
It'S our weight, our intellect, our finances.
Because context is a critical reinforcer for nurturing change.
And that's why change happens more quickly and permanently when you're in a group or a partnership. And in that partnership, where you have a change agent who a little bit.
Ahead of you on the very same path.
That's why Alcoholics Anonymous or Weight Watchers has people who've gone through the very same change you're going through.
And that's the end of my ABCDE.
