Janet Macaluso walks through a four-question roadmap to decide whether to act on a problem or practice self-management instead. Ask yourself: Is this important to me? Is my reaction appropriate? Can I change it? Is it worth my effort against theirs? Yes to all four means act. Any no means meditate on it.

It's a roadmap called I am worth it. And so it's kind of. And it helps you think about, well, should I speak and talk to the other person about this or is it my stuff and I need to chill out. And so the way I think about how to determine the two is to ask myself, whatever the situation that I'm having the internal chatter about, is it important to me if it's yes, I go to the next one? Is what I'm feeling or thinking about this situation, is my reaction appropriate? Would someone who I consider to be emotionally mature, would they react the same way if I say yes, I go to the next one, Is the situation modifiable? My mother's really old. There's issues with that. I can't modify that. So yes or no to that. But if I think maybe yes, I can go to the next one. When I balance my needs and the needs of the other, is taking action worth it? And if I say yes to all of those, then yes. And that's what we're going to talk about today. That's why we're here for taking action. If you say no to any of these, then it's like self management. It's like following Lucy and meditation and more common Tai Chi to get over that internal chatter.
