A comedian claims she started the Free the Nipple movement at 13 by typing the hashtag, then sarcastically insists it was actually a male fantasy dressed up as feminism. She's joking about how the internet credits movements to whoever yells loudest.
The Free the Nipple movement was definitely started by a dude. I know it's supposed to be a feminist movement about taking off your bra, but let's be real, it was started for a dude by dudes. And I will tell you why I know this. So here's where it gets a little tricky. I have a bit of a confession, a secret to get off my chest. I started the Free the Nipple movement when I was 13 and just found out what boobs were. I just typed in #FreeTheNipple and the world got so excited that the nipple was suddenly freed. I did it. I freed the nipple.
