Jason Levin says you don't need millions of listeners to make money from a podcast. His show earned tens of thousands of dollars through services for guests, not audience size. Focus on connecting with interesting people and monetizing those relationships instead.

You don't need to be the next Joe Rogan to go start a podcast. You just want to talk to interesting people and make some money? You could do that. Joe Rogan is not a good example for podcasters, and let me explain why. I think he's hilarious, he's a fantastic podcaster, but he's not a realistic example for most people. When you're starting a podcast, I think the goal should be just to meet people. It should just be to meet cool people. So I run a podcast called The Jason Levin Show. I'm like 80 episodes deep or so, and I'm not rich or famous from it. I'm just not. I don't have any coffee deals. I don't have any, you know, Texas studio or whatever. But I have made tens of thousands of dollars from it because I've met cool people that I've, you know, brought on and have changed my life. I've met people that have paid my content agency to make memes and crazy content for them. So podcasts, at the end of the day, like, it's not about getting rich and famous. It's about meeting cool people. So stop worrying about how many people are listening to your podcast. Just focus on making money and meeting cool people.
