Chapters
We're about to film the episode. Jack's been talking nonstop about all these girls that are messaging him on LinkedIn. He's like, LinkedIn's the dating app of the future, whatever. Well, this episode we're going to get Jack a girlfriend. Finally, he's going to find love. He doesn't know we're about to do this. Come on, let's go film.
All right, Jack, what are we going to build today?
Couches. An app that shows you all the best couches to sit on in New York City.
Wrong.
Okay, we are going to find you a girlfriend because you've been lonely. It's bringing down my vibe, Jack.
I have Just endless women falling all over me. I don't know what you're talking about.
We're going to put you back on the apps, okay?
I can't go on the apps. I've been banned from all of them.
All right, I pulled up Lovable.
I already built you an app. It is a dating app just for one guy, and it is for you. It is for you and any woman who wants to pay to apply to date you.
No competition?
No competition. It's just you. You are special, just like your mom said.
Mommy's special little boy.
Mommy's special little boy, and hundreds of women, all on the same app.
I'm in.
We are at the Brex office. They're surprisingly sponsoring us. They love our bootstrapped scrappiness and pretty exciting shit, so.
What's it for?
Well, we're working on a new app. It is a dating app just for Jack. He has like 50,000 LinkedIn followers and it's basically—
I want that. Can you get that shit for me?
Uh, it's just for Jack right now. It's built just for—
For Jack? That was who you picked first?
Dude, come on.
What are you implying?
A LinkedIn influencer? Do you think that's the best face for your brand?
I mean, I didn't— He's very handsome.
Attract like 60-year-old ladies?
Hey, Gavin, I was not expecting this, alright? I thought you'd be very supportive. I thought you'd come up with ideas for sketches.
You know all the college girls are on Instagram. They're not on LinkedIn. Why does an OnlyFans model need a LinkedIn? They don't need it.
All right, Gavin, so you're saying you want the app too?
I want the app exclusively.
This could be a bigger play. Maybe we white label the app so any influencer can use it.
All right, so like dickheads like this guy can just go scam their audience?
Jack can keep the LinkedIn.
All right.
I don't even need that.
So we white label it.
I'll take the Instagram.
Guys, stop arguing. I'm trying to think. We white label the app. Then we hook up Brex, so it shows how much you're spending on your corporate card. So you're a real influencer/founder. I mean, it's the same thing.
Can this kid even show a bank account with spending?
He, he's not allowed. His mom set up a bank account, from what I understand. That's where I'm wiring the money every month. But anyways, the point is we link it up. I think this could work. We just white label it, give it to influencers. Dude, I'm gonna make a deck. We'll just take the Uber over and show it to a VC friend of mine who'll give us some advice. We'll be good.
Yeah, Gavin, your pipeline is going to be Fantastic.
Yeah, your Instagram DM is going to be crazy, bro.
I'm loving it. I mean, the Instagram DM has been a little dry recently, so this will be good for business.
So as you can see, the problem is influencers have too many options for partners and not enough time. See Jack right here, handsome fella. Every time he goes out in New York, every time he goes on the internet, right, girls are swarming. Want to see an example? All right, first episode of the show that we filmed. I'm hard at work here, Jack's getting distracted. Wasn't even his fault, right? It just swarmed to Jack, right? So the solution: most rich famous influencers, they get on Raya, they match with other mid-famous people. But imagine just a dating app just for you, right? Totally customizable, white-labeled.
I shouldn't have to compete against anyone on the apps.
Exactly. That is also what Jack's mom said to him as he was a child. I know, my special little boy. So the influencer gets it for free, but the potential partners pay per application. It's very similar to the OnlyFans model, which is the largest creator, you know, company in the world. Not saying that we're gonna be bigger, but we probably will acquire them. Anyways, so they pay per application.
Mm-hmm.
And there are unlimited people out there who will pay to apply to DateJack.
I've already had 45 people sign up for this.
It's gone on— Just off LinkedIn too.
Yes.
There's a scale problem here. Okay. See that line? Yes. Everyone's gotta wait. Are people gonna get sick of it? Well, that's why Jack has VAs swiping through for him.
Right.
And there's potential plugins, tons of opportunities, right? And because you as the influencer own the platform, you could add whatever plugins you want. So for me, for example, You could send a meme with Memelord Technologies, right? Just send a meme to whatever girl or guy, you know, whatever floats your boat. If you're in a different mood, whoever applies, right? But you could also automatically put the date on Brex, right? So boom, corporate card. It's an expense.
If I don't find love, my company will suffer. This is a business expense.
You know what ruined Adam Neumann? It was love. That's what the Enron guys got right. Yeah, they were love-proof.
Yeah, that's a good point.
Yeah.
All right.
Back to focus. So what are you thinking so far? You think A16Z is in or like any of these big VCs? So you think people are in, right?
I'm in.
The VCs are interested. We're about to have Em Herrera come in. She is one of the best VCs in the creator economy. I'm talking like worked with MrBeast, Night Ventures. She's going to— we're going to blow her fucking mind.
So we could get hundreds of potential clients using this app.
Yeah, every YouTuber. Who like, you know, there's never been any scandals with YouTubers and girls before. So, Em, what do you think of the idea?
Is it that hard?
New York dating scene is complicated.
It's New York, right? It's like a lot of people.
There's not—
it's not the biggest city.
Take it easy on me. Probably majority women.
I mean, there's like, you know, there's not that many options out there.
For you?
Well, I'm a high-value man.
You know, but seriously, the white labeling idea for creators. We want to white label this. Any big YouTuber, your friends could create their own dating app where people pay.
My friends definitely don't have this problem.
What are you trying to say about my friend?
They have to at least some.
No, I don't think so.
Their DMs are just packed with women.
Yeah, for sure. Yeah. When you were like, Famous guys.
Jack, do you get those kind of DMs?
Only like 40-year-old moms, typically.
Really? Can I see?
Yeah, I mean, here.
Could you read them to me? Jack hasn't shown them yet.
Well, this girl, woman, older woman, prime older woman says, so she wants you to get married. Marriage proposal question. Why aren't we married? I think it would work well. I'm 40. Oh my God. Financially independent. Oh, that's good. Markets are down. And have yet to meet a man with a sense of humor as dark as mine. That said, please apologize to your spouse.
So you should imagine if Jack is getting all these DMs, you know, he should be charging money to, you know, talk to them.
I mean, I don't know if these are the kind of— look, if you like this, you can go ahead.
There's a lot of judgment coming from you right now.
You know, it's a good life.
She's very judgmental.
She's setting you up for a good life.
Yeah, I think that's a solid option.
Any more DMs in there? Maybe a little swipe through.
Another something else. Should I just start swiping?
Sure.
Really? Okay, this girl. I'm just gonna say C, her name is C. Making a joke on LinkedIn about, I can't say this out loud.
I don't even know what.
Making a joke on LinkedIn about eating blank is a wild move. That's what you post on LinkedIn?
Sometimes.
I didn't do any research before getting here at all.
Why didn't you?
She's single.
One more. Oh, the other ones are way cooler.
Just to let you know, I made a portrait of you, or at least tried. I guess I still wasn't capable to capture your expression of your eyes. What? To clarify, I do it for practice, so relax. So she humbled you at the end. She said, I spent the last 5 days doing this, but relax. Post. She posted it too. She didn't give a fuck. Something about your eyes.
Um, so are you investing or not?
This is a stupid idea. This is stupid. I usually like your ideas. This is stupid. I mean, women will pay for a lot of things, but I think meeting more men is probably not.
What?
Yeah, men pay for women mostly.
Wait, that gives me an idea.
All right.
Cool.
Yeah. Men will go crazy for me. A dating app just for me.
You're a joke. This is a joke. This is a joke, right?
What?
I thought this was serious.
What are you talking about?
I thought this was like a serious thing.
You said a dating app for women charge men.
I literally came across town for this. It's kind of annoying, honestly.
What are you trying to say here?
What?
No.
Em, don't.
Em, no. Em, don't go. Em. Em, don't go. Em.
You want to go on a date?
I'd love to date you.
