Hi, I'm Jay Quigley, real estate advisor. What is this Q&A about? It's about getting to know me a little bit as a realtor and as a husband and a father. Hopefully, it will give you a better sense of how I operate as a real estate advisor, and it also gives me a chance to talk about why I absolutely love helping people sell and buy real estate. in the Tampa area. What we like to say here is that we are local and global, so I can advise clients from all over the world that want to move to and from Florida. And though I'm licensed to practice throughout the entire state, I primarily do business in 4 counties: Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, and Polk. Being a second-generation Tamperean, I have a deep knowledge of the Tampa Bay area and its neighborhoods. From commute times to hole-in-the-wall hidden gems, HOA or CDD restrictions, local loan officers, brokers, and insurance agents, the knowledge I have gained and experiences I have had over my lifetime in Tampa have made me a very insightful advisor. I specialize in residential real estate for both resales and new home construction. I especially love working with first-time homebuyers, military veterans, and seniors. I'm a native of Tampa, husband to Michelle of over 28 years, father to Kayla, who is going to USF studying to be a veterinarian. Prior lives as a radio guy, a paralegal, and really finding my calling as a real estate consultant. I genuinely love this city, its atmosphere, The food, the sports, and the fact that it still feels like a community no matter how much it's expanded over the decades. As a true native, I feel that I'm uniquely qualified to help clients with their real estate needs here in the Tampa Bay area.
I found the definition of humility comes from Leonard Sacks. He's an American psychologist and physician, that it's being as interested in others as you are of yourself. And Jay epitomizes that.
I think the thing I appreciated most is when I let him know that I was looking, he set up a time for us to chat. And I think it was supposed to be maybe 30, 60 minutes. It wound up being, I think, almost 2 hours.
And there was a little bit of time where it was— I was questioning, is this going to happen? But he was there. He was, he was willing to pick up the phone and just reassure us that this was going to happen.
And it did.
It basically goes back to his personality. Jay is a very, very honest person. He will not sugarcoat anything. He will give you the straight facts no matter what, and we really appreciated that about Jay.
Jay has been in Tampa for many, many years. I was looking for someone with experience and someone who, you know, was willing to listen to my specific needs.
But it was really great because it was more of a conversation. He asked me a lot of questions, what I was looking for, and trying to figure out the best fit for me. And even as prepared as I thought I was, he was really helpful in helping me navigate the process, and that helped me feel a lot more comfortable and confident.
