Ken and Lauren bought their first home in New Tampa after renting, working with realtor Jay Quigley. They submitted seven offers before finding the right house. Three years later, Jay still checks in monthly.
My name is Ken, and this is my wife Lauren. I'm a middle school band and orchestra director here in the New Tampa area.
And I'm an attorney in Polk County. We were renting a townhome that actually Jay had helped us to find. It's not normal for a realtor to help you find a rental. It's definitely not something I'd encountered before. And he had gone with us to look at a couple different places. And we really appreciated it. It helped us find our first place together.
Yeah, he had taken us to a couple rentals to look at, and knowing that he wasn't going to get a lot out of it, but that commitment to us really built that trust.
And our lease was coming up and they wanted to charge us more. And so we had just been saving for a while and we were ready to buy our first home.
Meeting in his office for the first time and going through the individual questionnaires about what we're looking for in our home, telling us about how the market works and the things to expect at that time. We had put in 7 offers for 7 different homes before we, we were accepted on our last one. There was a little bit of time where it was— I was questioning, is this going to happen? But he was there and he was, he was willing to pick up the phone and just reassure us that this was going to happen. And it did.
We love our house. It's, it's fabulous. It's really everything that we needed. I mean, you buy a house and you live there for a long time. So it's not something to take lightly. And I mean, we hadn't done this before, so we had no clue what we were doing. And Jay was fabulous. He walked us through the whole process, and I mean, he knows what he's doing. He's very— I mean, not just knowledgeable but experienced. So we really appreciate him.
We'd recommend Jay because just his knowledge and his dedication to his clients. I mean, I don't feel like I'm just somebody that's gone to a realtor and they're going to help me find a house and that's going to be it. I mean, Jay's commitment to us before, through the process, and even after— I mean, he spends time with his clients, he checks up with us every month, and it's been— this summer will be 3 years that we've been in our home and he's still there for us.
