This is a YouTube video titled "19970208 || Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 4.6.47 || Moscow, Russia #JayapatakaSwamiArchives" containing a spiritual discourse delivered by Jaya Pataka Swami on February 8, 1997. The talk focuses on various devotional stories and teachings from Hindu scriptures, emphasizing the importance of avoiding offenses to devotees and the mercy of Lord Krishna. The content includes detailed narrations of pastimes involving Lord Shiva, Daksha, Lord Chaitanya, and other figures, illustrating spiritual principles and the power of forgiveness in devotional service.
Ram. Ram. Ram. Sam take Sikhishna Jaidana Prabhasude is Vedanta Swami. Translation purport to the Srimad Bhagavatam 4th Canto 6th chapter 47th text in the matter of Brahma satisfies 9th of February. 8th of February 1997. 510 Korabda so Lord Brahma is offering his prayers to Lord Shiva at the site of the destroyed sacrificial arena. Total destruction and but encountered. And even Daksha was lying there beheaded. So Brahma appeared on the scene and was pacifying and satisfying Lord Shiva with very appropriate words of wisdom. In the emotion of circumstances, one can become very involved and agitated and do things that later one might not feel right about. Even do things when really didn't want to do at all. Normally once something is done, it's difficult to correct it. Once something is spoken, you cannot bring it back. And normally once you kill somebody, then certainly you can't bring him back. The difference with this is Lord Shiva, he is so powerful, being the incarnation of partial incarnation of Lord Krishna that he can even bring Daksha back to life. The Daksha's head had been burned in a fire. So eventually he needs to get a head for Daksha. So there was a goat there that was. So they used head of the goat. In modern medical science they've been able to do microsurgery and we put hands on. We never heard about a head being put back on and what to speak of putting on the head of a goat. Instead, accidentally he had to cut the head off his own son not knowing it was his son. And then his wife said, you just killed your son. What have you done? Nobody told me he was my son. Mother said, don't let anybody come disturb me. And then Oi Shiva came and he wouldn't let him come either. Even though we didn't know each other. So Shiva got angry, why are you not letting me go to see my wife? And then he's saying, why you are trying to force your way to see my mother when she doesn't want to be disturbed like this. They had a huge fight. In that way Ganesh lost his head. So then Siva was feeling bad about that. So then he sent his servants. You find any animal who is sleeping or any person who's sleeping to the north. And since it's so inauspicious to sleep to the north, they deserve to have their head cut off. You cut off their head and bring it to me. So there was an elephant sleeping to the north. So he Got his head cut off and was brought back to Lord Shiva. So then Lord Shiva had to combine the human body and the elephant head. And that's why Ganesha is called the human body an elephant head. So Lord Shiva is able to do these things which are otherwise inconceivable. Such a powerful personality. Slow Dr. Jai Gornya Taiki Such a powerful personality. Still, Dakshil had become very envious against him and committed so many offenses against him. One has to be very careful about offenses to any living entity in this group. It mentions how the Vaishnava doesn't want to cause harm to anyone, doesn't want to kill anyone by accident of body or mind. The natural reaction, if you're angry, then you want to hurt the person that's causing you to be angry. That is a lower mode reaction. So living together with other Vaishnavas is a great boon because one gets so much association. But it's also dangerous if one is not careful to avoid offenses. We should know that living in a temple is also a cause to be very careful. Prabhupada. He would caution many times his disciples. Why? The thing that disturbed him was that his disciples would sometimes criticize each other or fight with each other even in his presence. And he said, this is very bad to be careful not to cause them any harm either materially or in their spiritual progress. One day we are walking in the morning with Srila Prabhupada Mayapur and he was taking a tour and seeing how things were going at that time. That particular year we had grown sugar cane and we were grinding the sugar cane in front of our land and making the sugarcane juice and gur. So Prabhupada was walking by the kitchen gate where there were big piles of sugar cane being stored to take across the road to the ground by the sugarcane crusher. There was an elderly Indian devotee who was sweeping the road. Now, in sugar cane season, it's customary for the kids to take pieces of sugar cane and chew it to get out the sweet juice. Then when you finish chewing it, the children will spit out the springs. So they were sugarcane spittings, just pulp from the people that spit out lying here and there on the road. Then he was sweeping that spittings in a pile very near to the stack of raw sugar cane added in this device. Anyone see anything wrong with that? Most people probably wonder what's wrong with that. He's cleaning the robot. But Prabhupada would always be seeing everything from a very spiritual point of view. How should what should be done to please Krishna. And as a guru it's his duty to find what is the fault in the disciple. How to correct the disciple? Nobody is supposed to criticize. But the guru has got this unfortunate task that his duty is to criticize. Of course, that's a constructive criticism to his disciple to correct them. So they are pitfalls in their spiritual life. What are you doing? Studying? Yes. You are born a Hindu and you don't know what to do living in a temple. You want to go to hell. He was bewildered. Why am I being held there? You are sweeping the spittings by the boga sugar cane which is readily offered to Krishna. And this is something that someone spit out. If somebody spits on something, can we offer it to Krishna? If we sweep things that have been spit out touching the boga, can we offer it to Krishna? Yes, you may put me time. Just a little baby was running by like a maybe 3 year old toddler with a big piece of sugar cake in the mouth. The 60 year old man, he tried to grab the sugar cane away from the baby. Stop it. Don't be over smart. Not the little baby's fault. What the baby knows. Does he know any better? Like that Prabhupada was trying to help us to avoid offenses. Offenses to the deities and all kinds of seva apparats or offenses in devotional service which I mentioned in nectar of devotion first part. Before one gets first initiation, they should read the nectar of devotion first part so they can avoid offenses. So to illustrate how detrimental offenses can be and what Chaitanya's pastimes we know that he is the most merciful and he was giving something out very freely. What was that? So all the devotees were. Every day he would give another devotee Krishna Prava. And they would be completely overwhelmed in ecstasy of love of Ka. Even the hawker who would be selling bananas and vegetables on the side of the road, Kola Vecha Sridhara. Even he got love for Krishna. So one day the devotees asked Lord Caitanya, please can you give love for Ghana to mother? Sachi is mother of. And Lord Chaitanya then told them that I'm not able to give her love for God. What? Everybody in the whole world can have love for God, but not your mother. And then the devotees became very absent. No, but she's much better devotee than I am. How did I get love for Gha? She lived. Please, you must give her your mercy. No, I cannot give her love for God. Why? Why can't she get love For Godhead. Because she is offended of Aishnava. How could she offend a Vaishnava? She's so pure. Chaitanya then explained that every day Advait Acharya was giving Bhagavatam clashes in the afternoon. And her son Vishalupa would go out and listen to the classes. She was always afraid. But sometimes she would send me to go get this Sarupa. When I went there then classes was still going on. So I'd sit also and listen to the class. The Mother Sachi. She would become very anxious that both of us were not coming back. And sometimes he criticized Advaita. Charya, why is giving such long Bhagavatam classes keeping the children away from home? Is that something? It wasn't constructive. It was just a criticism. The body is very upset. No, but it was out of love. As a mother. It wasn't meant ill, you know. It was her love for you. Nothing. I can do it. Well, what's the solution? Really? We want love for God. Had to be given to Sachimata. How could she get over this? Well, she has to beg Advaita Acharya for forgiveness. And be forgiven by him. So then one day they convinced mother. They told Mother Sachi. You're not getting love for Godhead because you've offended Advaita. Yes, to beg him for forgiveness. And although I never meant to offend him, surely. Yes, let's go. I love to beg for your forgiven. So they told Lord Chintanya and Lisa. He personally went along with him. Yes, let's go and beg. Have Mother Satchi get forgiven by Advaita Acharya. So she can get love for God was in his house doing his pujas in the morning on yellow. Suddenly hundreds, you know, devotees are all gathered there. What's happening? Why everyone's coming. I'm lower than a worm. How can anybody offend me? I'm not even a Vaishnava. Mother Sachi, she's the greatest devotee. She's so wonderful. She's always serving. The way she's cooking, the way she's serving. And then he started getting really absorbed and glorifying all of Mother Satchi's great qualities. How Mother Sachi was such a wonderful devotee. To illustrate how she was so great and he was insignificant. So how could he be offended by her? And how could he for dirt? They became so ecstatic talking about the glories of Mother Sachi. So there was no hope that he was going to forgive Mother Sachi. Because he was being too humble. So then Lord Chaichanya told Mother Sachi, this is your only hope. Grab his lotus feet, Take the dust from his lotus feet. Put on your head. This way you can be forgiven. So then she went and took the dust from the lotus feet of a. And put on her head. As soon as she got forgiven like that. That's another way of getting forgiveness. Someone won't forgive you. You can steal the dust from the feet or from the shoe or something. Of course, one shouldn't commit offenses on the strength of stealing the dust from the feet. Then as soon as she got the task from the tree of Advaita. She was given the blessing of love for Krishna. All the devotees were very happy to see Mother Sachi with Krishna spoken offense. Careful. We have to be to avoid offenses. Very careful about not wishing harm on anyone inappropriately. Because if somebody comes to attack the temple or harm the deities or something. Then we can protect the Vaishnavas or the Krishna. That's glorious. So all these pastimes, Shiva and Daksha is to teach us to be very careful against offensives to Vaishnava. There was the other case where this one Chapal Gopal. He was very offensive against Shivaj Thakur, ghosts and spirits and Mother Durga. So he was a Tantric. He followed the black artists who do different rites to try and cast spells on other people and things like that. And they get very proud of their powers. And he tried to do some trying to discredit Shiva's Thakur. And he put blood in things and Shiva. But Shivas was protected by Krishna. And nothing really happened to him. Just a little disturbance. But then got an incurable disease reaction for his offenses. Many different diseases started to overtake him. Even leprosy. And therefore he became an outcast. He couldn't. He had to leave his home and live outside the city. In those days, nobody wanted to be with such a contagious person. He was staying on the side of the Ganges. One day Lord Chaitanya was coming from the Ganges after bathing. And the Chapal Google fell at the feet of Lord Chaitanya. And offered his prostrate obeisances. And saying. I committed great offenses. Please forgive me. I want to. I cannot forgive you. You are offended. For you there's no deliverance. You're going to hell and you're going to rot and burn there. There's no deliverance for you. Even I cannot forgive you for your offense. The were shocked. They never heard. Lord Ch is all merciful. But here he's not giving his mercy to this person. So isn't there any way I can be forgiven? Only you can be forgiven by Shiva Thakur. If he forgives you, then you can have the mercy. Nothing I can do. This reminds us of the case where Durvasa Muni had affected ambush. And he went all the way to Brahma Siva and finally to Vishnu the sue with consequence of the vision. Then he begged Vishnu, please forgive me. Take away your Sudarshan chakras. Kindly kill me. I am however, not independent. I am under the control of my devotee's love. Devotees are always thinking of me. Therefore I am within their heart. And I am always thinking of my devotees. Therefore I am outside God. But inside I am actually. So if you offend the devotee then. If you offend me, I'll forgive you. But if you offend the devotee, I can't. He had to go back to Ambarish and get his. So then the devotees went and approached Siva as Thakur and begged him, please give your mercy to Japan Gopal. He can't get forgiven for he's suffering like anything. And he wants to be a devotee now. Without you forgiving him, he's not any love for Krishna. How could somebody offend me? I'm not even a devotee. I'm so. I'm a rotten person. I have no good qualities. So I'm not even a devotee. How could anybody offend me? You may not think you're a devoted. And he won't give the mercy to Japan Gopal unless you forgive him. So they have to use like psychology. They know that Shivas's heart is very soft. Do you want to be the cause of Chapal Gopal suffering? No, no, no. I don't want anybody to suffer because of me. Do you want to be the cause for him not to get love for Godhead? No, no. I want everyone to have love for Godhead. Then unless you go and forgive him, he's doomed because of you. No, no. Okay, okay. I'll go. I'll go to. Where is he. I don't want to cause any suffering to anyone. So this way they. They have to use like reverse psychology to get him to go. Otherwise he wasn't. So then when Shivas he went to the Gange site where Chapal Gopal was, he fell on the ground, said, please forgive me. I committed an offense to you. You are a great devoting. Please forgive. I've given out all these black things. I simply want to perform devotional service. Please Forgive me. Blessed him, forgave him. Krishna, if there's any offense to me, please forgive this person. And not sure did he do that immediately Chandpur Gopal felt so much relief. Miraculously Lord Chaitanya disappeared on the scene. She destiny. And as soon as Gopal was forgiven by Sivas. Lord Caitanya lifted him up. All his diseases were cured. And he got immediately was overwhelmed with love. So if someone offends Vaishnava, he won't be inclined to give his mercy. But if one's free from that offense, will give so much mercy before that's used. So whether out of madness or anger or love or illusion or any reason. We should never just unconstructively and offensively criticize or offend an Englishman. You can see what happened to Daksha for his. So if we get somehow forgiven for our offenses. Then Lord Chaitanya's mercy is easy coming. So in the purport here just in conclusion, it mentions about Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was crucified. And he prayed that Father forgive them. They don't know what they do. Hit him on the head and was bleeding. And he said, Just because you've hit me. Does that mean I won't give you love For God. Just because you struck me, caused me to bleed. Does that mean that I won't give you love? Remember what happened with him. He was given the sentence. Sentence to be whipped in 22 marketplaces. The special canes that they use for whipping. Not ordinary, just leather whips. These are special rattan. Can they still use this system? In Singapore there was a famous case where one American kid squirted paint all over somebody's car. And he was sentenced to nine whips. There was a big human crime all over the world. But even with three hits, they hit so hard that by three hits you can go unconscious. A doctor there to see that you're always conscious. If you overstay your visa In Singapore, it's 25 strokes. Apparently it takes many one time. You can't get 25. You have to go many times because you fall unconscious after a few. So they were using this system against Hamidaz Thakur. But there was no doctor there to see that he didn't do too much. The purpose was actually to kill him. Because consecutively beating him in 22 marketplace nobody can survive. So they were beating and beating him like anything. People were. He's a saint. What are you doing? Stop it. Soldiers are hitting them back. No, he's an offender. I deserve more than this. I'm A sinner. I'm a great offender. Krishna was coming with Sudarshan chakra chapter executioners and pieces. He was praying that forgive them. I'm an offender, I deserve worse than this. So Krishna couldn't tolerate his devotee being witnessed. So Krishna put his own bag to absorb the hits. So the Haridas Kamura wasn't feeling that pain after Sama hits. Because. But even when the beginning, when Haridas Thakur was feeling the pain, he was still taboo and praying for their forgiveness. When he was arrested for chanting Hare Krishna, he was put into jail. They got the whole prison to chain Hare Krishna. The people say why you are. You know why? The other prisoners say why you are chanting Hare Krishna. What is this? You're making fun of us. You're too happy. Does this conchase the prisoner? We're not supposed to be happy. To me he does not basically repeat it. And he said to them that we should all be happy. Don't joke with us why we should be happy. We're in this lousy place, rotten prison, why we should be happy? You joke with us, we're going to really teach you A letter. I cried. Then Hadidas conquered, said, you see your actions unfortunate because the whole world is in a prison. They're bound by these bodies, by birth, death, old age, disease. But they're in the illusion that they're free. At least you know you're in a prison. But now you can liberate your consciousness by chanting this mantra. Through this mantra you'll be free from all the bondages. Not only this prison bondage, but these hollow bondage that nobody is free from. So they have the whole prison chanting. So the word got back to the king. What do you mean? How can you be happy in the prison? Singing and dancing. I don't want people to be happy in my prison house. Chanted and danced Hare Krishna. They would lose their criminal mentality. It's the real solution. It should be instituted in all prison houses. So Haridaz Thakur is the founder of prison preaching. So they brought Hadidas Thakur back to the King. He was a Mughal ruler. I sent you to prison because you are born Muslim. But you're chanting the names of Krishna. What do you have to say for yourself? Why should we not punish you for this? There's only one God. He is also known in Sanskrit as Krishna Sanskriti. When the word Krishna Rama. Rama. So what is the Haram? There are so many Muslims, so many Hindus are converted to Muslim and they're chanting the name of Allah. One Muslim likes to chant the name of Krishna. She had the name of Allah in the form of Sanskrit word Krishna instead of Arabic. What is the problem? But then, Ayatollah, he was there. If you allow him to get away with this, everybody may start it. This is very offensive. So that's how he got sentenced to be whipped in 22 markets. The place after the 22 marketplaces. Two executioners. It was translated to Tator. What's wrong with you too? Why are you looking so sad? You're sad because you are alive. Why would my being alive be harmful to you? Because we were supposed to execute you. But you didn't die. That means we're going to die. The king will kill us for not killing you. If I would die, it would be good. Good for you. Be very good for us. All right. Then he laid down and went into yoga. And for all practical purposes, he was dead. No breathing, no heartbeat. Without a ECG or something, they couldn't tell. Wonderful. Very challenging. He went back to the King. Best we have done our duty instead. So the Sultan, he went to see and they called him the Saint. Good. He didn't die. So Ayatollah said he should not be buried. Why not? His soul will be at peace. He shouldn't be buried. He shouldn't be burned in the river where he'll be eaten by the dogs and the crows and the vultures. And his spirit will wander throughout the world with no peace for his offenses. All right. So then Executioner tried to lift him. Move him. We can't. It's too heavy. You mustn't listen to Z. Help him. Help him. Him. He wasn't moving because was deep and trans meditating on Krishna. He got the weight of Krishna, which was un. They brought elephants. What to do? What does this mean? Suddenly, Harida's Kakur also became lighter than the lightest. Krishna is also heavier than the heaviest. He's lighter than the lightest. Like all the planets are floating. Because he's in every planet. He started floating in the air like a balloon. He was like floating on top of the water. And the wind was blowing him to the other side. Good radiance. Finally we got rid of this. But then, touching the Ganges water, Haridas talk where he came conscious. So that's Allah. He's alive. He's resurrected from the dead. On Ojo. On Ojo. I committed a grave offense offending this saint. He was. He knew about offenses. He said, there's no hope for me. I'm going to be finished. I'LL be damned forever. Swam to the other side. He was chanting. The Sultan got on board and then he ran after fell on the ground. Forgive me. Forgive me. Please forgive me. Otherwise, all of a sudden, behind him, the Ayatollah came. No. No. Get out of here. You're the one who misled me about this same. But the Ayato also fell on the ground. Please forgive me. You also begged for forgiveness. I only forgive the two of you.
