20000617 || Class and Kīrtana || Atlanta, US #JayapatakaSwamiArchives

Recorded class by Jaya Pataka Swami (Atlanta, June 17, 2000). Swami narrates the rise of nonstop kīrtana/Namha preaching (large public kīrtana with ecstatic phenomena), recounts Panihati-era pastimes (Raghunath Das, Nityananda Prabhu) and festival practices, and gives extensive practical guidance on organizing festivals, prasāda preparation, and community duties. A substantial portion addresses Vaishnava etiquette and cleanliness (rules about touching the mouth, washing after toilets, clothing hygiene, prasāda handling) and devotional relationships (respect for guru, godbrothers/godsisters, conflict resolution). The session includes audience Q&A and logistical announcements.
Came back, they started the Namhat movement, the Namha preaching, the Sankirta movement. Then he. We started it with a lot of Kirktown non stop Kirktown people got the news came out. This is amazing kirtan going on. People would just come and they would join into the Kirk town and they'd forget everything. Like three days later you might say, wow, I gotta go home. So then they came on the Vienna going on and they then people would say wow, what happened to you? Because they just completely missed out. And there's this true Chantipati Priwo pribo. And really wow, he looks a little different. I can't tell you. Completely absorbed. And then people run to find out what's going on. And so it's like waves of Kirk dhammas having its influence throughout the area. And pretty soon it was like so many people there, it was jam packed. Tens of thousands of people chanting kirtan. And the devotees from this non stop kirtan going on for months. So that the end they started to just naturally manifest all kinds of mystic powers. They didn't ask for it, they didn't desire. Just like they became lighter and lighter. Some wonder boy just started floating up in the air. And one day came slowly jumping on the top of treetops and going, you know, hoodie bo, hoodie bow jumping, you know, that's wild. They gotta do that too.
And.
Then sometimes they just feel like just so. You feel just like so strong. Somebody picked up one huge tree, like some mango tree weighing, you know, I don't know how many hundreds of tens of dozens of tons of mangoes picked it up. Then said Abhiramanas. He picked up one very long bamboo thick, long, maybe 100ft long or not 100ft, but maybe like 60ft long. And he picked it up and those men would take the leverage on that is incredible. He played like it was a flute. Somebody else picked up seven palm trees and gathered them together. She put a raghu upanit told me to put nothing really left in my garden. No more food. Tens of thousands of people supplying me for bhagat. He took the kirtan and went somewhere else, you know. And it was just moving around for a while. Wherever they went, they were just sweeping the same. They built up so much energy in this cave time. Wherever they went with his beloved. Then afterwards the Lord Nitinu regularly visit Panihati and they would. That would be one of his bases. His actual residence, Kordah is 6 km north of Panihatu. And Raghava Patit or excuse me Raghavargath. He lived in a place called Adi Saptagam which is from Kordanga. Maybe another 12-20km more. Not ready for I could walk in a day by boat. We went by boat a couple hours. It's not so he got this idea. Tell me later what was the idea? To go to see Raghunath dance. So there was seated under this tree by the side of the Gante is a gigantic banyan tree. This is expressed here sitting on a rock under a tree under thanking the Ganges voice Vichin Nanda seemed as vulging as hundreds and thousands of rising suns. Many devotees sat on the ground surrounding him. Seeing their fulgence of Mitch and unequally Raghu Nadas was astonished. Dandalath Voya say Bodila Raghunath Das offered his obeisances by following prostrate at a distant place. And the servant of Nityananda Prabhu pointed out there is Raghunath Das offering you obeisances. Hearing this Lord Nithananda Prabhu said you are a thief. Now you have come to see me. Come here. Come here. Today I shall punish you. I explained this festival in South America festival of punishment sounds very ominous. Of course even to be punished by what we demanded is mercy. The Lord called him the Ramana Das did not donate. The Lord hesitate. He was just staying at a distance not knowing what to do. But then Mordin forcibly went to him and caught him and placed his lotus feet upon Abu Nakas head. How many would like that punishment? Lord Nithyananda was by nature very merciful and funny. Being merciful, he spoke to the government as follows. Even just like a thief. For instead of coming here, you stay away at a distant place. Now I have captured you, I shall punish you. So Rabbinam Das he always somehow he was always staying away from Prithimanda for lose mercy, right? So what Hritimanda is saying Like a thief you want you to stay away, you don't come here. But this punishment is very esoteric. Because this punishment is going to change everything. For learning to naming the dance with Dali Chira, Babkan, Korahu, Morbane, Sunni Anand Make a festival and feed all my associates yogurt and chip fries. This is the order make a festival. Andy had to feed all my associates yogurt chick bags. So how did Raghmadas feel when he got this permission? Very pleased. He was very happy. So immediately he sent all his people to purchase all kinds of edibles to bring him back chip dry roe Dirt, milk, sweetened sugar, bananas, mangoes and all kinds of edibles. Replace them all around. So we can continue tomorrow. The rest is what's going tomorrow. Of course, Allah will take tomorrow the day that we're celebrating Sunday, always Sabbath day as the day of Adana Moonsa here because everybody can attend. It's an ending. You have an action day. Because you know this holidays are pretty festival of work. It's such a big deal here in the West. That's one thing to notice. America has so few holidays in India. You got Buddha Kun, you got Ramza, you got Jammasana. They're all public holidays. You got so many. There must be 25, mostly lots of holidays. Lord Muhammad Sunnah Altura's Day. About four or five EIDs during the year. Every month we got a few holidays. When you look in the calendar, eight America. That's why these days that Memorial day is such a big day, long weekend and they get a lot of long weekends. But so here of course we can't observe it that exact day. But we had to observe it on the weekends and facilitate everybody to come. Otherwise Panihati was a few days ago and we got the news that there were hundreds of thousands of people that came to Panihati in India for the Iskconsalam there to at least 50,000 to 100,000 people. That's another story. That festival is still going on and we're very happy that all of you are making the Nukanihatri festival a success. It is insensitive that as soon as everybody heard there was a festival, all kinds of people, Brahmanas and gentlemen began to arrive. And thus there were numerable people. So because all of you gentlemen and gentle ladies and Brahmanas and that's why this festival is a festival. There were all people, there would be a festival. So it's very important that everybody's here. This is fulfilling Prabhupada's desire that we should have places dedicated to the pastimes of Ka. And so all these different qualities are Panihati. So Prabhupada gave this name Panihati. It really brings to mind many different things. Place where there should be a lot of ecstatic here times there should be some very wonderful Prashada. There should be some dramatic performances and a lot of discussions about a lot of Ishtagosti and discussion of Krishna consciousness. A lot of association between the devotees. And then there's also this picnic festival where we take the flat rites off into one. So these are the details why was when the pirates brought him in dust, why is it a punishment? What was the punishment? So he was always directly approached Allah. He didn't approach through Lord, the original Guru. He is also responsible for the preaching in Bengal. And Raghunathas was very close to Nichananda. He wasn't norm. It wasn't that they didn't see each other. But he didn't somehow take the mercy of Nityananda to get to Lord Chitra. So every time he went, he was refused in charge of his best efforts. So what Rita nama is that you're always keeping away from me. I'm going to punish you. So in one sense, most people can't figure out what this means. In one sense it means that he's punishing because he's not coming through him. Another meaning is that in punishing him he's actually saying, okay, somehow you didn't come to me today. Okay, today I'm going to bless you. You want to reach Lord's attendants are going to bless you to reach him. But he presented that as a punishment. I mean punish you by taking the punishment, giving the space for all the associates, that whatever offense there was on Ramadasa's part would be absolved and he would get the mercy to reach Lord Chitanya. That's some of the things I thought. You keep getting new meanings every time you read the first time.
And every time.
I always thought how he was getting by not going for me to Gandhi, he was getting punished. Today it just came to mind how actually this was going to come by giving him this punishment. Of course he was giving him the mercy to get to Lorget. He was deciding that oh, when he was so bad, when he did come to see me under the mercy today and take this punishment. And through this punishment, Rahu Mahdas, he could serve Lord Jatanaya. He could serve all the Vaishnavas. He could personally feed Lord Chaitanya. He could get so much mercy. By this he was able to become Sarup Dhamadar is the personal assistant. He is known as Saroupde Raghunath. There are a few Raghavanaths, Raghavas have common name like, you know, John Mary or something. The west here. So Raghunavant or Das or Raghnabad Raghavanath Raghunavanth was always with Surup Dharmadha who was a personal incarnation of La who would relieve Lord Chaitanya when he was feeling intense separation from Krishna by telling him to accidental pastimes and other Krishna that would Relieve him. So Ramana Das got his mercy to finally be accepted by Mohitanda when he really showed that he was not a marketing of Abrah really bad after Krishna. So we hope that all the devotees will help us in this past and how we'd like to help in serving Raghur Upandan and Raghu Bab Das and Srila Prabhupada pastime alive. So you can do that by chanting and by taking prasadam and by helping and preparing that prasada, serving the prasadam, being active in the festival, performing some Brahma or some class, sharing some Ka consciousness. This is what was going on, you see. Well, Borgitananda was sitting and he was discussing with all of these Sochis and they were talking and Raghapanna was cooking on one side. You know the feast that Bhadvishim took up feast in the night. And when he came to take a picnic, when he came midday, my brother said I'm going to come and have your lunch. I said sit down. Today I'm not having lunch today we're just having Chin. But if you think I'll take lunch in the night. And he had an Ahmad palace sit down, give him a couple pots, a cheer. I'd like to. So the Raghav upon it he went back and prepared the feast. Bharadra said is having trouble getting the feast prepared. Then there's the dramas and the music and the district. And so they intervene the program. So Rath Yatra fits in because the devotees of Panipatya were always feeling separation from Lord Chaitanya when he was in Jagannath Puri they would go every year to Jagannathuri. So there was this connection with Doja and Abhosa in one sense very close to Padihati. There's another temple just on the opposite side of the river which is called the Ram for Ram. And there it's called Mahesh. And also there's an ancient Jagannath theory which was worshipped by Kotikarmapur. And there they have big rapid. There used to be the second largest math ya after Puri before Kalpanata. But that's so that's all just across the river from Panihatu kind of putting everything here in one place. Near here you can have a Kordaha. Nobody's made a new Kordahan place, a Nichi member's house. Nobody's made this place of Jagannath there. There are so many Pakistan places actually in Bengal many of them are here. Panigake is one of the Most important because there are all these associates and these different pastimes. So we need your help to make this Pani Hapi festival come alive. And we're thankful everybody's here. I hope that this is inspiration for devotees to create other pastime festivals in their respective temples. It's ecstatic. Somehow Panihat is very special. And how Prabhupada he came here in light of all the devotees in so many ways. That's something which we hear tomorrow. It's also very very special. Thank you everybody for coming here and making this festival wonderful event. This morning Maha Maya Devi is giving a special class of Prabhupada remembrance of the other seminar dance. We want to thank God for Peter Prabhu. What someone I'd like to give. I heard overheard president yesterday. So like this. Thank you very much. Hare Krishna. Any questions? Yes.
This.
Morning, the next morning. Monday morning, the next morning. Working on Mirja all days together. But next morning then Raghav drop him into the room and said that I introduced the topic. Even to approach this number. We can go through his representatives of the world. Can I complete the? Sure. There's two cars that are parked up in the front lawn over here. A Subaru station wagon and white Camry. They need to be removed immediately. Anybody own those cars? Is anyone in here? Yes. Where Whoever that I have founded. Whenever he cooks green tamarind chutney. You don't get green tamarind. You only get the right brown tamarind. Green tamarind goes off in the sweet. It's not. And it's very sour sweet. But somehow I can imagine. Somehow the Ragu makes this. It's like a combination of conflicting muscles. Something that Radar Raman was expert with. And it's just like the fable preparation of worksheets. And so whenever you put that whatever one to ten minutes will just be there too good to miss one of these things. Another place was where Sachimato's. That was also. And then all the field favors Kilton Prime. All the varieties of singing and chanting is water to the 12th place. So you can have one Chattanooga by also by converting this place to Panihati and our minds. The Lord Chittendal having lots of Kirtan glorification Ramadan. And he's also there. He can get his association even though we're 500 years old.
Duty.
Everybody is bound by duty. That has Srila Prabhupada and also the festivals and Vaishnavakalend. There's all kind of festivals like conflicting. Like giving up duty is more important.
Yeah.
The way more devotees do a lot of Rama, Bhakhi, Vrikshakrishna, wider bodies. And then we can have our own. We can vote in all the Bakshana holidays and all these Krishna government holidays. We have no conflict until then. Even when he madas he had to accept some unpleasant circumstances in order to do his household duties. You usually notice when there's ever a festival or some visiting brewery, the more people tend to get sick. I call it for sickle.
You.
Somehow take advantage to work under the situation you're doing. But one should plan ahead for the special festivals. We're glad that devotees do that. Plan ahead and make a plan to come here. Bhagavarita Prabhu always told me how he always. Oh, there he is.
Right.
Make a special effort to be here for this problem. So you want to tell us about that? Any recommendations for people about getting the festival? Well, the best part is when we all get together and prepare the offering. All these tests like you see, they bring all these bowels of mango, all these preparation destinations. A lot of people cooking that stuff, mixing everything. So more or less when I have this thing in there, it's nice if I can participate. One hour, two hours coming there. You're never going to forget the experience. Everybody can be an assistant, right? In a dance, help prepare the fit feast. Since it's not cooked, the economy shared people can capture it first. What else? Everybody else. What they find to be the most enlightening aspect of the festival. Who's been happy for having somebody who already associated with you. So give your association too.
You say something.
Where are you from? Make friends, associate. So maybe they already know some people new. Anything else that you like to share? Yes. The pots are offered during that puja because you can sing it. What did I do? Let me have some guests say what's wrong with the left hand? I can't figure out. So there's also like how to actually change and how to pretend to put people on a crash course. Someone was asking to give a class on rational etiquette. It's a very big topic. Actually when you go to India, then they're changing a lot. And on cleanliness. So for eating, prasada means you're touching your mouth. So the mouth is considered unclean. This is for right now. We deal with the physical uncleanliness. Let's keep it simple. Yeah. Really? Where does it say that? I just was reading an idea Worship handle. There's certain levels of moochiness. But just under normal circumstances, mouth.
Okay.
You brought up going to the bathroom. So that means that passing urine, excrement and the private parts of the body are also considered unclean. Important. Everybody goes to the shower once in a day, early in the morning. No one should ever go to the bathroom more than once in a day. Again places. Okay, I just want to bring it down to a very simple formula here for the warm level of cleanliness. The ground is clean, so the ground is not clean. Your feet touch the ground so your feet aren't clean. And the normal level. So if you touch your feet, if you touch your mouth or if you go to the toilet, then you gotta do some cleaning. Otherwise whatever you touch with whatever you touch an unclean thing becomes unclean also. So this is a co he was training one son devoted how he could eat without cushion through mouth getting a sweet ball thriving. So I wish I had sweet to give. Everybody knew I wanted to read something here. Then we got some. You don't get. Why should I find out if you have any mirel for shoes? Yeah, you can ask him if he has mire for sweet balls. Then of course there's drinking water without touching glass TMO and the glass is considered contaminated. Your hands considered contaminated unclean. If you go in matters fiction, it's like spitting on your hand and attaching the scriptures. You're being offensive to the scripture. So kindliness is like one of the very basic things. That's a new etiquette. Toilet etiquette. Well, normally you don't put the fan pictures. I see. They don't put pictures of this normal toilet. Anything would be wearing gumption. We're wearing an open cherry ashram that offensively Krishna. But normally in public we have written that the sagas just were coping. They go away. Nobody likes but rest of your mouth dedicated. This day and age is where it is to where your heaven. Holy river. Dealing with the holy rivers. Holy water. So we're right back to telling this one.
So.
When we eat, we're touching our mouth. We're touching. Then our hands are clean. We have to wash our hands before we would just touch anything else. So these seem like very simple things. But somehow sometimes people will always miss their cleanliness. Father Sannyasi told me how Prabhupada complained when he put his knee pain on the asana. You know how to put it on the floor. So put it on the asana. Prabhupada said you put your foot on the asana. So even the asana is not hidden like that. So we know the principles of cleanliness. Then it's easy to apply the principles how to correct it, how to avoid uncommon. There's no other etiquette regarding Vaishnav paraphernalias. They'll tie them with cloth. They won't put on the ground like that where they have little grass asanas for the dramas. Yes. I mean in the west we do use the fork to dinner pasta and salad because it's too complicated otherwise.
But.
Some of this told me that food eaten with the vendors for his spice is good. I don't know on what basis you said that. I'm sure there's some scientific faces. So we got enough forward the Anybody want to come up and demonstrate? What? Well, I was thinking one time actually I don't think I had a big impact on the equipment. It's like sometimes you get in a situation in India where you don't have running water. You're in a bathroom with a bucket of water mug toilet and you're supposed to use everything without getting anything dirty. But as soon as you graduate, your hands are going to be so how do you do it? That's really advanced. These are the kind of things but here for the more simple ones.
You.
Never ever completed the process to last two days anyway. The drop of the hand if you're giving the class technically they should wash their hands or drunk without touching. These type of things are the basic elegant cleanliness which somehow no reason no one is not missing so you can have. Then they want to chant on the beast and then they have to wash their hands. This already goes bathroom parts. Then there is second to go to the bathroom. Then you're supposed to wash your feet and the private parts have to be removed. And if you move on to the room the two there's also cleanliness in terms of clothing. If you sleep, then clothing. Then there's contaminated. So there's different types of cloth. There's cotton cloth, silk cloth, wool and deer stuff. So cotton cloth it gets there really easiest. In order to clean the cotton cloth, you have to wash it with water. That's why you sleep in clothes you wear. One day the clothes, the next day the clothes are considered dirty. So you clean it. You have to wash it. You wash it in water and daily purposes is clean stainless. Just wash it with water and some cleansing. The another whole thing how 50 people can break through the same length. In South India they sell glasses that have a little curved lip so it's much easier. Pores are easy to tell a cloth. Right? Wool cloth doesn't get Dirty offering with the left hand, don't jump in, offer with your right hand. So then that's why some people who have to in the cold weather like in North India, they have to go to the toilet. You know, they're wearing cotton cloth though the cloth will get dirty. They take off the cotton cloth, put on a wool gumption, go to the toilet of a wool gumption which doesn't get. Then after finishing the toilet business, they wash their hands and feet. Then they come out and they go to the bathroom. They shake the wool falling off once wear it, they come out, they put on the cotton but the wool doesn't get into the way. One of the advocates now wearing shoes.
Also does.
But the way of purifying it also began with the air. So by checking the sofa. So just normally they wear cotton. That's why people go to a toilet in the cotton. They can't use the same cloth and go into the bathroom. This is very common. You find people like in India for people that go to the bathroom, they have bottle of gumption, they use the gumption. Maybe when they're in the bathroom they have a cotton gumshu, the animal woolen gumshu, the was there gumshaw, bring it out and wear it out. So the gacha is also clean because they washed it after they went to the bathroom. So that was. I think we got enough about cleanliness. What the water was emptied, getting some more water. They didn't try it over this time. Now we have got one some of the etiquette here. Someone can suggest which topic you like to hear. They are not going south, they still be around church. So this one we are discussing about etiquette first here. So we want to discuss about the principles I think in 15 minutes. Well, some of the key words that people said is that we have God respect. And what you're basically doing is a topic about Ashwam Buddhism. Because somebody who's in a Brahmachary ashram or a renounced ashram, he has to do it's from his side. A person who's not even into the world, you can't pose etiquette on that. The people in the Ashina have to follow everything. Oh, that's another way. That's another one. But for the first of this, what is everything, how to apply it or what people don't want to follow, that's going to be the topic.
And.
So one of the basic principle we have here is that the people who are senior or people who are more spiritually advanced that there are certain Ways that we show respect. There's only one way for you. The shed Ways that we show respect. How do we show respect to people? How do we show disrespect? What did Vikram do when he wanted to show disrespect to Brahman? Shiva and Rishi rebel against yeshiva. So there was a way of physically abusing you kicked Vishnu. He insulted Lord Siva. And when he came in the group, he didn't offer any respect to Brahman. So by not following the normal etiquette, just by not following him, that was considered offensive. So in Biddu's case, he didn't say a word to Brahman. He just came in, he didn't follow Indra was rejected by his spiritual master. Not fully, but at least neglected because of why. What happened when Briyasbandi walked in the room, you know, that best man, he just ignored his guru. Everybody was singing and Rankandarvas go outside. Buddha how great he was, the great king and everything. His guru watched him only and looked at. It's like there's a guru again. And the guru just, you know, had to look around, sensed the situation that, you know, making the disciples, taking me for granted. And then he turned around and left. And then immediately realized that I committed an offense. I didn't follow the Krishna etiquette. I didn't pay respect to my guru. Someone may be the king or maybe the greatest gift on earth, whatever. But in relation to their guru, they always take the humble position as a servant. They consider that by guru's blessing and by Krishna's blessing, I am whatever I am. So because he didn't follow that and he went looking for his guru, but he couldn't find Pilas Patri. Then as soon as the demons realized that Indra lost the favor of his guru, they said, all right, everybody battle call, charge. And then they start attacking Indra that he's getting smashed and he doesn't have his guru to guide him. And so one Ra, when you're in a big position and it can cause a lot of difficulty, learn the hard way. So the principle of course is between the guru and disciple with any practical applications. I think we'll just discuss the principle how guru is representing Krishna. So that means that's why we say guru is treated like God. Because when he is God, sometimes people get all hung up on the verse that says saksha tavitvina sa that all the scriptures say. What do they say? That he has equality of God. He's representing the quality. Sakshat means the personal presence. And twa prena means like quality of. Like you say Sudha is pure and Sudha TVA is purity. Right now, India, there's a big thing Hindu twa, the quality of being a Hindu nationalist. So this is Shakshat Twain means 12 having the quality of being a presence of. So it doesn't mean that this God or his acknowledge or anything like that. But it means that some quality of godliness is there in the guru for that representative of presence, presence of san quality. And there is a quality mercy spirituality. So that they said. Therefore we said that the disciples should bow down whenever the guru enters. Just like also sannyasi when they are dealing with sannyasis. Probably whenever you see a sannyasi first time in the day, you should pay a basis. I go to Srila Prabhupada before I go to yoga. So problem. What if I give him ayabadi sannyasi? This is another challenge to put it over here.
No, no.
But I don't think it's so good. It's like, what do you call conflicting etiquettes? Which etiquette takes precedence? Precedence of etiquettes. It's like, no, this is an important point over here. 12 precedents of etiquette. Is this like the general etiquette? You should bow down to the bruise straight. The Vaishnava was with your right side. The Krishna was the left side. But then in our temple, Prabhupada is opposite the deity. So if you bow down straight ahead, then you're putting your feet to ka. So therefore we can't do. The Prabhupada told us to bow down on the side. So either right side or left side, we bow down. But in other temples, the prabhupada is in the front that you can. God wants to repent. So when the Buddha was in front of the deities. And you're not supposed to bow down to the guru because our way, our temples are designed province that we consider this is the kirtan home, that's a temple. That's why when people ask him, well, in his books he wrote, don't bathe the feet in front of the demons. But he made his use of vapor on his feet. And he said, well, because that's. That's not the temple. Just a temple room is like the kirtan hall. Like normally the Indian temple is a separate building. What is it called? The kirtan manda. There's a few meter, one or two meter gap between that and the temple. And there's a veranda on the temple, sitting right in front of the meetings, it's like the veranda, right?
Stand.
If somebody would stand right in front of the beans and someone came up to throat or touched his feet or paper bases, that he wouldn't object, said this is not correct. But he was sitting the other side of the group. He didn't object. So our architecture is going to be when you're praying to the babies and right in front of the babies, then they're not so good. The focus is on the babies. So that principal godbrother of the guru, this was discussed by Krishna Bhajanamrita, by Narayanavatakara. There he describes that in one sense we see all of Vaishnavas as guru because what is guru? Guru means who represents ka to us. Whoever teaches us about ka is also guru. So we're learning something from all Vaishnavas. So in a general sense we should respect all Vaishnavas as guru. That's why we call all Vaishnavas who are initiated or following regular principles, we call them as Prabhu's master. So we're accepting it as a master supreme guru. But amongst all these gurus, then you've got your diksha guru and you have your six chakurus. And that's a special relationship. This is not how in this verse is a visa like special. It's not taking personal responsibility for your spiritual life. And then you have. So between the six sahgurus and your diksha guru, maybe some of the siksha guru are even older brothers to your old guru. Maybe the senior sannyasi or senior guru, the guru guru. And what if there's a difference of opinion about how to apply the philosophy? Not against the shaft. Or maybe I'll reply or what somebody should do. Who do you follow? He raised that question. So then he said, it's just like in a joint family, everybody respects all the uncles and aunties equally. But if there's a disagreement between them, then who do you follow? Your father or some other uncle? He's responsible for you when you follow him. So he said that that kind of etiquette, if there's a disagreement with the dictionary, guru takes the priority and the norm is a normal head there'll be hiring because some of the dictionary says don't follow the founder sharing. Founder sharing is everybody's primary Sikhsha guru. It's like he's our link with the whole param Quran. So obviously whatever he said that has to somebody said, well, we don't follow problem anymore.
Then.
That would Be a no go, he would be breaking his etiquette. She has to also be following the founder. So between God brothers and God sisters as far as specifically one thing we always hear Prabhupada say was about training, about the service attitude. How sometimes amongst the siblings, amongst the godbrothers and God sisters there's some disagreement. Today we read in the Chaitanya Chennam reading how much brothers and sisters, all those fights. Sometimes there's fights and after a while things cool down and they become friends again. So one thing is done to avoid the fighting and the way songs of society. Because Prabhupada use the example many people are massaging the back of the father, many sons and then someone says I want to massage him. No, this is my part. And they start follow me. Oh me punching away on the father's back. And he's saying ah, you're kidding me. So Prabhupada said don't fight. That was the biggest thing he was saying the way you could show how you love me is how, how you cooperate together, how much you cooperate together, how well you cooperate together. So between godbrothers and God sisters one aspect of etiquette is the cooperation and helping each other. The other aspect is that a senior godbrother can be accepted also as a represent or brothers sister as representative. In a sense this was mentioned by Prahlad Maharaj in the Srimad Bhagavata temple how he saw his older godbrothers as lake guru for him in the presence of Prabhupada. We didn't have, we were all God brothers and God sisters. We didn't pan this, this God peasants. We didn't have a God uncle semen that we could interact with very frequently. So it was very rare. Maybe I did because I was living in Mayan port but not most of the world. So for us it was a unipolar movement we had to deal with with our older God brothers. They would often be the way that we would approach Prabhupada. Just like when Raghava pandit took Raghava Bhadas to see Nanda. So Raghavanta Das was the older godbrother in a sense in the sense of Nityananda being the founder of Charyan. He was the older godbrother and he brought Raghavanda in, spoke a word on his behalf. So the older godmothers are supposed to have God sisters are supposed to help the younger godbrothers God sisters in their spiritual life. When we get to cousins because we are in one family with many different devotees and many different gurus. So but it's one family under Ka and Srila Prabhupada. So to some degree in the family set up, we should be trying to help all the devotees. The older devotees that should try to help their devotees. Maybe they'll say Godbrothers. Somebody might think that they have or may feel they have more right.
To.
Say something and comes with etiquette. That is partially true. But a lot of the things that etiquette you find. I see people do things which are superficial or offensive. But if they did it and the right attitude, then Prabhupada didn't take offense. So what's important in all this is, you know, we have so many rules and regulations that are there to guide us. But first to understand the basic principle. And if the one is at the right consciousness, even if the details may be wrong, you can always fill in the gaps. But having the right consciousness is what's important. So somebody sees one family who want to help any other Vaishnava or serve other Vaishnavism. If you see all your other cousin God brothers or if somebody's a Prabhupada disciple and they see the devotees as their nephews and nieces and they're trying to spiritually trying to help whoever they can, they might Krishna come consciousness and that kind of a caring environment. Even if there is some small lacuna and maybe a detailed application of the etiquette that could be easily overcome. A husband and wife. We discussed this last night at the wedding ceremony and that's a big topic to cover in a few minutes. But the etiquette is that we're supposed to respect each other as Vaishnavas, Vaishnavi protect each other spiritually, to serve each other spiritually. And details of how especially the husband is supposed to be a protector. The wife is protector. But sometimes the people don't follow that etiquette and then their wife hears the husband. We had a very horrible case here where a non devotee husband killed his wife and then killed himself. And I always get letters from people where they say they fear their spouse because of this or that reason. So what we want to create in a lifestyle, husband, wife, relationship is there shouldn't have to be fear. There should be mutual care for each other and they should develop in a proper relationship. But that's like a really big topic. You could have about a few months. I mean, I just don't. I probably wouldn't be the best person to give that Veena of Sannyasa. That principle is there for protecting and respect as Vaishnavas. So one would want to offend is a limit even though it's very familiar relationship. But we have to always keep a certain level of respect also. Otherwise we read the verses from the marriage on the morning we had last night where it says that the wife is considered to be the property of Vishnu and the husband is considered to be representative of Ka. So since Krishna is the protector of everyone, he is God. So like that husband should also be protecting him. He should see the wife as under his care. But if he were to not treat the wife as his personal property or as Krishna's property put under his care. So he has to treat with knowing that Lord Krishna, I'm having you've given me this wife to help me in my Ka consciousness, the wife and Krishna has given me this husband to help me in my Ka consciousness and my material life. And so I'm ever able to teach her ways to speak. As far as other Vaishnavas, in general, we respect all the Vaishnavas. This gets complicated because for Kali Yuga and in Kali Yuga we have so many political situations and arguments. So then sometimes you can otherwise shamas to treat them with respect. And any Vaishnava we can bow down and say Prabhu and everything. But when if they commit some offense, some people they want to criticize or something could be any Vaishnava if they're critical. I mean, we go over into this other mode here, how to deal with offenses. The reality is that there are some people who are back with association. So we may respect them on one level. But then if you find that they're always speaking things against God or against the Guru or against the Vaishnavas or something offensive, then it's recommended. We don't intimately associate with that people to deal with an offense. If somebody is offensive, what are we supposed to do? Ignore it, tolerate it, react to it? What are you supposed to do? Who would say, yes, try to defeat that person. You can go away. I think the last resort is no, you shouldn't. If somebody is very offensive, then the first thing you can do is just walk away. You don't sit there and tolerate. If somebody is offending Jesus or offending God or offending anybody, your guru or anybody's guru or any Vaishnava, then we don't just tolerate smile while they go on saying horrible things. You have to react to it. One way of reacting is if you don't know what to do or what to say to the person, how to stop him or her. You can just stay on saying my thing or say I'm sorry, I don't want to hear this and just walk away. And that's a statement in his son and that preach you from. You've alienated yourself from you tolerated. You're also lying to part of the offense. You become part of it. You don't want to be part of it. The other thing is to stop the person from talking. You said normally you do this by defeating them by contracting whatever they're saying of a better argument or practice and stopping them from continuing in that way. There's a third option which is what Sati did. She felt that her husband was being bruised the grave Vaishnava was being offended by her father. She said well I don't want to have the body that is associated with you. So she sat down meditation explored with the flames and burned her song by mystic fire and then reincarnated it as someone else's daughter. But that's a bit tough to do. You're not allowed to commit suicide unless you can burn yourself up by mystic flames. It's not an option most people have.
So.
Anyway we can we just touched the surface. I just wanted this the first time. I would assess you if we should continue with this in the afternoon. I have a seminar at 5:30. I was going to talk about devotee relationships with this me also in 10 minutes here we're going to have an interfaith. Interfaith dialogue. And so I leave yet to end here and not get set up for the interfaith dialogue. Bhakti Subhanamraj and some very distinguished guests are coming here to have a two day night. So I had for devotee relationships. Should we continue more practical application in relation etiquette or just devotee relationships? Not both religions and not validity. I can get a things stay connected. But this is going more from the formality of the technical part and relationship then it goes more from the higher. How many in favor for the devotee we start fresh with the Bodhi relationships on the afternoon. And the other is that we carry over some of this into it. Who else will start fresh? Thank you very much. But there are so much. Well that is too bad. You know if it is little bit is okay.
He's finding.

So if you are visiting India, if you're coming to Kartic festival, I think it's a good timing. So please come that and after that we are playing this festival called this millennium San. This is in ban. So we talk about.
Maybe it would be easier to do just walk by with this certain thing. Do you think Matajis everyone take something and just walk around with it.
