This is a YouTube video titled "20010520 || Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (6.5.17) Class || Melbourne, Australia #JayapatakaSwamiArchives" containing a spiritual lecture delivered by Jaya Pataka Swami on January 20, 2005, in Melbourne, Australia. The content focuses on the philosophical and devotional teachings from the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, discussing the nature of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, critiques of modern scientific theories like the Big Bang, and the importance of devotional service (Bhakti Yoga) as the true path to understanding the Absolute Truth. The lecture includes allegories, scriptural references, and practical advice on preaching and engaging different audiences in Krishna consciousness. The transcript features a primary speaker (Jaya Pataka Swami) with some interaction from a participant named Theodore Staniels.
If one engages in one engage temporary fruitive activities not knowing that supreme person, what benefit will he derive? Report by Shivao BHA Philosophers and scientists conduct scholarly research to find the original cause, but they should do so scientifically, not whimsically or through fantastic theories. The science of the original cause is explained in various Vedic literatures. The Vedanta Sutra explains that one should inquire about his Supreme Soul. Such inquiry about the supreme is called Brahma Jingyasa, the Absolute Truth Tattva explained in Shima Bhagavatam 1211 as follows. Learning transcendentalists who know the Absolute truth call this non dual substance Brahman, Paramatma or Bhagavan. The Absolute Truth appears to neophytes as impersonal Brahman and to advanced mystic yogis as Paramatma, the Super Soul. But devotees who are further advanced understand the Absolute Truth as the Supreme Lord Vishnu. This material cosmic manifestation is an expansion of the energy of Lord Krishna, Lord Vishnu Eknade Satasyaksna Vistarini Whatever we see in this world is but an expansion of various energies of the Supreme Personality of Godhead who is like a fire that spreads illuminations for a long distance. Our Lord is situated in one place. Vishnu Purana the entire God manifestation is an expansion of the Supreme Lord, but instead falsely engages in frivolous temporary activities. Therefore, if one does not conduct research to find the supreme cause, but instead falsely engages in frivolous temporary activities, what is the use of demanding recognition as an important scientist or a philosopher? If one does not know that absolute ultimate time, what is the use of his scientific and philosophical research? The Purusha the original person, Bhagawan Vishnu can be understood only by devotional service. Only by devotional service can one understand the Supreme Person who is behind everything. One must try to understand that the material elements are spread. One must try to understand that the material elements are the separated inferior energy of the Lord and the living entity is the Lord's superior energy. Whatever we experience, including matter and the Spirit soul, living force is but a combination of two energies of Lord, the inferior energy and the superior energy. One should therefore seriously study the facts concerning creation, maintenance and devastation as well as the permanent place from which one ever need return. Human society should study this instead of human society should study this. But instead of cultivating such knowledge, people are attracted to temporary happiness and sense gratification culminating in bottomless topless passion. There is no profit in such activities. One must engage himself in the Ka Consciousness movement, thus end the translation and purport by his divine grace. Srila Abhayachary this is Srimad Bhagavatam, 6th canto, 5th chapter, 17th verse. So this is the house of 25 elements. Ka is the basis of this material world which is made out of 25 elements. He causes the manifestation and he wakes it up. If somebody is just engaging in their fruitive activity, their sense gratification, and they pass too late. They never understand the position of the supreme personality in Gandhi. What is the use of all their efforts as a human being? We are meant to understand the Supreme Lord. But so many people are going through life that they don't understand, they don't have a clue. What is God? Who is God? What is the nature of God? Where does he live? Why do we come here? Where do we head after we die? What are the laws of material nature? So many basic things people are not aware of. They may be doing so many experiments, but if they don't realize the presence of the Supreme Lord, then what will be the value of their research? We should see beyond what is visible to us in the material world and see what is the cause behind it. Modern scientists have a theory called the Big Bang. Move up a little bit. And the idea is that at some point in time there was a big bang, big explosion in the universe and that created everything. Such a big explosion that threw inside heathen light. Somehow miraculously, life was created. They have never proved this. Neither in a laboratory can they produce life trying to reproduce that type of energy burst. But they have this theory that everything came from a big explosion. So Srila Brahman was asking, so who has set off the explosion? Who made the bomb? Because before that there was nothing. So how do you know explosions and everything and there's nothing, no language. Actually there is a chain reaction of events. When it happens, when the sound vibration enters into the universe and starts with the creation, they have first thing to start. Everything in the gross level is the sound. So if we see the material worlds in perspective as the energy of the Lord, then we start to see everything properly. We need to see the material world as it is in relationship to Ka. This material world is not something independent. It's not something that's running on its own. It's created by Krishna and he designs in such a way that it can run for a while. But he's under the, he's in control. So in the some famous exhibitions they keep showing this theory. In the beginning there was nothing and there was a big bang. And then from the bang in the primordial Soup there was life. And then from this life evolution came. And gradually from evolution eventually Satish came and all of us. But there's no. There's so many missing links. There's no evidence. And even I was trying to say that it's not adding up. It seems that some people want to recognize the monkeys as their forefathers. According to the Bhagavad Gita says if Krishna Saham or Krishna first thing says I am the seed of all the living entities. So when somebody in the universe actually all the things have been pre designed and they're in a seed form and those seeds are given to Brahman and he takes the seeds and from there he expands by adding the soul. This so the egg comes first or the chicken is first. The seed first the egg was given. The seeds were given by Krishna. Now there's a similarity in the creatures. It looks like an evolution of species when you see their bones and everything. But they forget that if you buy paintings from the same artist, it's quite common to see the similar design and artistic features in his paintings. There's some trademarks. So considering that Krishna is this common designer for all the living entities, there's also some progression and some similarity in the different designs. Ultimately, Ka is the prime mover. This is the thing that the Harashvas Haryashvas were able to realize in the Radha Muni. If you realize that everything in the material world is ultimately coming, coming from Krishna, then why should I? Then it becomes very important that we should realize who is Krishna. What can be the most important thing that I think I realize? The person who has made everything happen. We want to understand Krishna only means devotional service as speculation. We can't do it. Speculation that come up with all these crazy theories that then we slow down. They're not able to reproduce it in the laboratory. If somebody wants to promote a medicine, they don't let you say that the medicine will cure a particular disease unless you prove it. Then it's illegal to do mammals accept under some limitations. So it's very difficult to prove what is actually happening by mental. They don't prove anything. They just come up with a theory and then it sounds good and then they promote it as science, but it's not scientific. You couldn't do anything without proving that. As I was saying for medicine, if you didn't prove it, then they won't let you market it. But here they let you market this theory and the whole universal creation without any proof. It just sounds good. So then they go with that and the Sonic World by Ethereum psychedelic. They're very common. I was giving a lecture in India, in Assam. And the chief minister of Assam at that time was Hiteshwar Swahiya. He's giving the lecture and he said, well, you people are Alpinos and I am among them. What is the Alpino? Then he explained that because the Thai people have come and the Burmese people came and conquered over asylum, the history, therefore they intermixed with the Indians there. So Indians there looked like Asians. They look more like Chinese type. Oriental. Oriental, Oriental, Mongolian, Tibetan. Anyway, more oriental than Indian. Then he was saying that his theory about Alpinos was that since the Aryans came from the Alpines and moved into India, according to some European theories, therefore we were Alpinos. Sounds like something from South America. Savages are such a big, you know, chief minister, big head of the state. But he's giving all these theories and he's trying to sound very good. I even know. But. So there's a lot of theories that go on around the world that are not substantiated when people just accept them as absolutely. So in Ka consciousness we base. Prabhupada told us we should be very pessimistic when it comes to these theories. We should be very faithful and positive when it comes to the scriptures. Scriptures we take as absolute knowledge free from the illusion of the materialist. But the other theories which are coming from someone's mental speculation, we have to be very careful about that. Prabhupada. We're not against science. But why science should stay in its own field. It should stay with the things that are able to empirically prove. When they start making theories about creation, theories about existence, and they don't actually prove it, that's where they're going out of their limits, out of their range. The Lord he able to expand the whole material world on a little fraction of his energy. It's known as Ekapada Devhuti. 1/4 of the total material creation, total of energy, Ekarpa Vibhuti. And the spiritual world is known as tripada Vibhuti. Three forms. So the material world is less than one fourth of the total energy. That's all the unlimited millions of universes. So there are many more people living in a spiritual world. We're here a small minority. And in this material universe we are many. This one small universe, smallest of the universe, is actually one way. We're out of millions and billions of planets. We're just on this one little planet. And then here on this planet we're living in one little corner. It's actually in the total realm of things already insignificant, the core. Generally, one thinks himself to be the center of the entire universe. But they don't bother to really understand Krishna, who is the origin of everything. If we can understand Ka through devotional service, then we really achieve something. As the Prophet was saying, they want recognition as important scientist or philosopher. But they're just presenting theories. They're not actually presenting some kind of fact that they discovered. Am I talking that theory long enough? Then it becomes established fact. I think I explained to you about how Bhagavan was turned into a ghost. Previously enough people, they start talking the same thing. And after all, everybody believes it. Ten people said Bhagavan Pandid was a ghost. And then the king believed it. So many people were saying it. So it's like that evolution, big bang. They have enough theories and sounds and I just keep on repeating that. And after a while it becomes an established notion. If a scientist wants to say something different, then he becomes ostracized from the establishment or assignment. This is the basically, so here we're trying to understand, not based on speculation, but based on the Vedas. We might try to understand Ka actually. This is the real purpose of human life, to understand the supreme Lord, where everything is coming from. So Lord Chaitanya has made this very easy for us to achieve by giving us devotional service. Krishna said, without devotional service it's not possible to know him. Bhaktam Alexandra 19 Only the devotees can know the Lord. So through this process of devotional service, the one is gradually able to understand Pukashins. Who we are, where we came from, where we're going to, all these basic questions. So that's how we're trying to promote Ka consciousness in this world. And somehow present in a very simple way. Like Narada Muni, he presented to the Haras France in an allegorical way. Talking about houses of 25 gunas and talking about siblings and other things. I was swan, a river flowing in both directions of a man who was the husband of a prostitute. A woman who was a professional prostitute. A hole from which entering you never return. A kingdom where there's only one meal. So these sound like the riddles. They were ready. Holy miracle. But somehow the harassment were so astute they could pick it up right away. Sometimes things are presented like this. Now Ra, he presented this way so they could understand. We also know that in the story of Purajana he gave another allegory where he presented One story about the king Purunjan so that this King Prachinibrahi could understand what the spiritual existence was. Some people, they may need to re explain things in a allegorical way or some special way. The idea is to present the philosophy in such a way that the person can understand. If Mahabuni had just presented the straight philosophy to Pachinobahi, he went right along the stood. But because he presented things in a very colorful story form, then it was easier to understand. He presented the story. Then afterwards he explained the king said, what does the story mean? And there was the king Prana with living in a city of nine gates with a queen protected by this big serpent. And the city gets attacked by Yamuna Raja, the king of the meat eaters, along with his son. Later they give the whole story and okay, this amazing story. What does this all mean? Then he goes back and explains that Brahmana is a living entity. The city of nine gates is the body. It's got nine holes in it. Two eyes, two ears, mouth, nostrils, anus and genital. 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 7. 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9. So there's facility with nine gates. He goes through and explains the whole thing so that he got his interest, he got his attention. Starting hard to get people to give their attention about spiritual matters. And through that analogy, then he could understand the living. The queen was like what the intelligence, the Yavana was. The time was attacking the old age and time. So there was through a very simple explanation you could understand. This is explained by Ka, that there are the four Vedas which include the Upanishads. And these are straight sutras giving either Karma Khanda or Jnana Khanda. And sometimes it's very hard to understand. So you actually write philosophically are tuned in. And then in the Chandogya Upanishad it says the Pancham Veda are the Puranas. The fifth Veda. And then the Prana dimensions also confirms that the fifth Veda is the Puranas. And it mentions that the Puranas are the nearest to Ka because they tell everything in the form of a story. Because in Kali Yuga it's easier for people to understand things as a story, as an allegory with examples. Very hard just to understand the state philosophy. More pleased when things are explained like that. So you find all the charities Prabhupada used so many of these stories in his explanation. And also Vasilabakti Siddhanta, Saraswi Thakura. He would also use his Upa Qyamas as different examples to explain something. So I use this uppercand this like 10 people turn bhagavan Pandir into a ghost is one of his examples. There's also so many the I have a story of the young carpenter who wanted to get firewood from the forest. For instance, when the carpenter was going in the forest and an old carpenter came by and said what are you doing? This is a tiger in the forest. Sundar bones. You should carry some gun with you, a weapon. Then the young carpenter thought I have got a saw with you. If a tiger comes up, I'll just saw a branch off a tree. I'll swing the branch over my head and I'll scare away the tiger. It can be very simple. There's no reason to have a gun when I have a saw, right? Good idea. How many would like to face off with a saw to a tiger? 400 kilo tiger. So Bhatpani was very true of himself. He was in the forest cutting wood. Why do people go to the forest to cut wood? Any idea? This guy is a carpenter. It's going to make cabinets and things. Why? One of the first. Yeah, there's lots of wood there. A lot of wood. You have to pay for it. If you don't have any money, you can't buy in the market. You go to the forest, cut some wood. Then you can make something, sell it, make some money. So it was the sheep way. So there's also a saying in India that cheap has three problems. Anyway, the downside of going in the forest is it's the further away hard work and there's natural danger. So like tigers, bears, snakes, crocodiles, different things, quick sand. So he was cutting his wood that he was going to use to make his furniture. And then he saw a tiger running over the field towards him. So he quickly tried to cut a branch off the tree to use to defend himself. He's furiously cutting, cutting, cutting, cutting, cutting. But then before he could finish cutting, the tiger jumped up. His plan didn't work. So when the local villagers heard that this young carpenter was killed by kanger they always stand wasted a good life. Meanwhile there was Hare Krishna devotee. Someone like Brahmaswamy happened to show up in their little village class in the ninth year time. Then it was a late program. But then in the morning he got up early and left. By the time everybody else got up at 7 o' clock, they found he was gone. They traced out his footprints and saw one inside the forest. So they got very frightened that the tigers Their tiger will eat him. So they quickly grabbed their guns and they followed the footprints to protect him from the tiger. As they're going deep in the jungle, they hear music. Ching ching ching ching ching ching ching ching ching. Hare ka, Hare ka. They hear chanting. So they get closer, they look through the dense foliage and there they see an amazing thing. The devotee is chanting. And tigers and bears and deers, they're all dancing. In Kirta, nobody's afraid of each other. They're all overwhelmed with feeling love for each other. Then I thought what does he mean that somebody has the power to make the diners dance richer. Decent to have a gun when I have a saw, right? Good idea. How many would like to face off with a saw to a tiger? 400 kilo tiger. So he was very sure of himself. So he was in the forest cutting for our wood. Why do people go to the forest to cut wood? Any idea? This cutting is a carpenter in the main cabinets and things. Why go to the forest? There's lots of wood. Vans pay for it. You don't have any money then you can't buy in the market. You go to the forest, cut some wood, then you can make something, sell it, make some money. So that's the cheap way. So there's also a saying in India that cheap has three problems. Anyway, the downside of going in the forest is it's further away, hard work and there's natural dangers like tigers, bears, snakes, crocodiles, different things, quicksand. So he was cutting this wood that he was going to use to make his furniture. And then he saw a tiger running over the field towards him. So he quickly tried to cut a branch off the tree to use to defend himself. He's furiously cutting, cutting, cutting, cutting, cutting. But then before he could finish cutting the tangling chantan, his plan didn't work. So when the local villagers heard that this young carpenter was killed by a kainai, they all withstand, wasted a good life. Meanwhile there was Hare Krishna devotee. Someone like Brahmaswami happened to show up in their little village class in the night here town. Then it was a late program. But then in the morning he got up early and left. By the time everybody else got up at 7 o' clock, they found he was gone. They traced all his footprints and saw one inside the forest. So they got very frightened that the tigers, their tiger will eat them. So they quickly grabbed their guns and they follow the footprints to protect him from the tiger. As they're going deep in the jungle, they hear music. Hare ka Hare Ka. They hear chanting. So they get closer. They look through the dense foliage. And there they see an amazing thing. That devotee is chanting. And tigers and bears and deers. They're all dancing in kirta. Nobody's afraid of each other. They're all overwhelmed with feeling love for each other. Then I thought, what does he mean? If somebody has the power to make the tigers dance in love of Ka, then what do you need that weapon for? He doesn't need our protection. Understand the moral of the story, this allegory. Everybody in the story represents something. What's the young carpenter? According to what? Subhanutan Sur Thakur. He is a person seeking for self realization. But who's following the process of particular yoga. What yoga? Bhakti Yoga. So with yoga. Oh no. Hang on. I've heard this story before, but I can't remember. What do you have with yoga? Anybody else? Good morning. Karma Gala was astonishing mystic yogi because he thought he'll protect himself by sudden. You know. Mystic yogis think that by their meditation they're going to protect themselves. But somehow venture the tiger is like. Is what? What is the tiger? Huh? No, the mind. Mind is mind. And the senses. Mind and the senses. Yeah, it's the senses. So to control the senses. So the mystic yogis want to control their senses by their meditation. Could be. You can say the others. Maybe. But he specifically said mystic yogi is trying to control by the meditation. But then the senses leap on them so suddenly that it takes them by surprise and try to meditate. But they fall. Who are the guys with the guns? Which yogis? Yes. What's your name?
Theodore Staniels.
Theodore, Theodore Staniels. Theodorus Dallian CEO. Let's give Theo a big hand there. So Theo got right. Because the Karma yogi, they are trying to. The karmis rather, they are trying to control their senses by regulated sense gratification. So for them it's always their inferior of the senses. So they're using the senses in ka service. That's their procedure. More like the karmis they enjoy, but they're also afraid of. The karmic is actually karmis. The karmis are afraid of the reactions to the different activities. So they're in fear. Karmis are designed to do the good works, but they're always in fear of the reaction. So they're not fearless. Where who of course is a pretty simple one. Who is the devotee? What you'll mean which one? So because Tabhaki Yoga, because he was engaging karmyas who are trying to enjoy the senses, but in some religious way, therefore they're always afraid because they're actually breaking. They're always on the border of breaking. But the devotee, because he's completely unsurrendered to Ka, all his senses are under control. And therefore, just like all the animals, they're all engaged in singing and dancing with the Bhakti Yoga. So normally the vices are leaping out and attacking us. But if we chant and engage in Bhakti Yoga, then we can easily control these vices where the other yogas do not give us the same kind of protection. So like Mr. Habakkuk Siddhanta says, I would use different examples as sometimes as allegory or sometimes just to give an example of a concept. All the humor, all the so many different examples are given in Vedas and by the different Acharyas. So when we grace it also you can present things in your own words. As long as you present it that the original meaning is not lost, you can give your own example. Even it's a bit hard to do that sometimes. You have to think about it very carefully, make sure it matches up as possible to do that. The idea is somehow to preach to people in such a way that they can understand what we're saying and they can grasp it. That's where sometimes different devotees, they may be able to present things sometimes in a better way for a particular audience. Sometimes young people, when they talk to other young people, they can relate with each other easier. You know, when they say the alright words, it's cool, it's awesome. It's just this that whatever they relate with that rather. Okay, it's Sikh. Huh? It's Sikh, It's Sikh. It's like good or bad for us, it's bad for them, it's good. It's so good that it's sick. So in the life, preaching accordingly, whatever the audience is to present things like that, so they can easily understand Srila Prabhupada. In some of his Bhaktagata articles, he would take a topical point from the newspapers and then he would discuss them from a Krishna conscious point of view. He said he could take something topical, discuss it from a Ka conscious point of view, and come to a Ka conscious conclusion so that people can learn how to apply the Krishna, Kant's philosophy. So in this way one is able to preach to a very wide audience of people. You can understand where their mental state and you can present things to them doesn't have to be done in a stereotype way. Prabhupada specifically said that preaching is not a stereotype. Wants on a letter to devotee where he said we need to preach also to the college students. That this is important. But the way that you preach to the college students is you don't insist upon them too many rules and regulations that shave their hair or things like that. Rather, you try to engage them in doing the things they like to do. And then by engaging them in devotional service and the way they like to do it, doing things that they like to do. Then eventually they become a taste for devotional service. They become convinced. Then on their own, they decide to practice Ka consciousness in a more regulated, complete way. Since you can't force people or push people, especially if they're very educated, they'll just reject that. So he gave a whole blueprint. I'm just giving the highlights. How to preach to educated people. How to present Ka consciousness in a very easily accessible way from it. So one thing we can pick out from these verses is Narana Muni. He knew who he was preaching to. And he presented the philosophy to them in such a way that it was very grippy, relevant. And they could immediately identify with it and understand it. And then afterwards, when he explained it again, it was confirming what they understood. So in the same way we're able to. Everybody is a creature potentially. And it's up to them to see particular audience they're preaching to. How they're able to assimilate Ka consciousness. Prabhupada here he put in a. Put in a cut on modern society. That instead of studying the material energy and this origin Vishnu instead of that, many people are just attracted to temporary happiness and sense gratification. Which he said culminates in bottomless, topless passion. So they have these nightclubs where there's tablets, someone advertised bottom is probably driving by. And so what is that? Sometimes in comments like this, how people, even elderly people, they go and patronize such establishments and they're wasting their value form of life. We were driving somewhere, I think it was in Brisbane that they had some kind of nightclub. Big sign, they have girls and so many other advertisements around. So these things also seem to be quite common in Australia. People are extending their value to human life. Just going after temporary pleasures which you can get even in the body of an animal. And they're not utilizing their valuable human form of life to understand who they are, what is their real purpose of life, how to get out of the cycle of birth and death. And the essential things that who is Krishna Who's God which they could be doing it. Once one achieves that awareness, then it's so much more. The comparison is given by Rupa Goswami in one between the happiness that was there in the material sex life and the happiness that's there in the spiritual love of Ka. He said, compare it to the darkest overcast dark moon night in the winter to the hottest, brightest clear sky day of summer at middays. That's the comparison they do. So much happiness is existing and one that becomes aware of Ka. Prema. We're missing out. All these people are missing out on that. But in order to. We may not be ready just to hear about philosophy. So maybe there has to be some different methods to make them aware about the purpose of their existence and the importance to seek for it. So that's why preaching is actually sort of a big challenge. It's something that is an unlimited stop for creativity. How to present the philosophy in new and more accessible manners. Bhabhu said, we can use the modern technology. Whether it's Internet or multimedia or multimedicio dioramas, exhibitions, dramas, culture. You can use whatever facilities are there that we use for Maya, we can use them for Ka. In Mayapur. We used to always have the Australian drama troops come and present their dramas. They were famous recently. Now the Bhaktivedanta players from London became famous. It used to be that Australia was the most famous for its dramas. Maybe 20 years ago, still doing dramas. Here you got a theater. Something that's a good way to engage some of the young people who are not so much chanting and other things that if you engage them in doing the Dharma and they memorize the parts, they practice, they get together a fish and conscious purpose. Fifth element is very good for the young people. At Playapo. We just had for the Maharishika Chakrajasi the children 12 undergave one drama two days before and one day before. And the actual day was the Gurukul 12 to 18 this year we started out the drama the play with a computer generated graphic presentation of leading him to with sound effects. That when it was. That was like how they opened up the play. The Bhakti Virata Gurukul layers and then some different lighted sound presentations. I went into Hiranyaksha. The older boys, they really liked the fight scene. So there was at least six fight scenes. Hira Naksha vs Varahi with strobe lights. Then after that then there was, you know, Hirani Kashipur versus the Devas. No, the Devas came capturing the wife of Hiranya Kashifu Kaidu and then being freed by. So there's a little fight scene there with the demons. And then they capture Kaito but then Hirana only saves her. Then afterwards then when Hirani Kashiku gets his powers and he fights with the demons. The demons of course attacking and of course the final big scene was Hiram Nikashifu vs Nashika Dave. Then a lot of the fight scenes coming of action. But it was very well done this table. So it was the best draft when they've done so this is a way to also engage. So thinking how to engage our young people, how to engage the different people in the community. So everybody has some devotional service according to their nature and inclination. On big festival days sometimes in India we do competitions bottom Raj organized in Chennai many competitions Rangoli where they didn't put the colored markings. There was one lady who made a six foot maybe was one and a half meter Prabhupada. It's powder colored powders. Then art. Children make artwork, fancy dress for the little kids. Parents bring them when they dress up like Puranic figures. Debate who can come up with the best speech about Bakli Prusita song to them amongst high school kids different kinds of competitions to get them to do something like that in a festival. And this way they become really enlightened and they start to study the philosophy to make their debate, to make their speech. They study, come up with a speech, they memorize it, speak it. It's very useful also for their development as human beings and it brings them close to ka. So there's many ways that ka can be presented. So Narada Muni is showing here throughout his preaching we can see a flexibility just like when he was attacked by a thief. Rasador does she write my car? Then he said well okay. Lord, who are you stealing from? My mother, my wife, for my children. But you're stealing and killing and doing so much. I want to look at my vision and see all the bad. How are you going to get. Who's going to share that with you? Are there people you're still in for when you share it with him? Sure. And I shared it was bad. Ask his mother and father. Look, I've done all this stealing and killing and getting maintaining you. So you're going to go take at least part of my karma. So look it, we're old people. We're trying to raise you to be good. Why you're doing all these things in our old age. You want us to take all this Karma Rabino said, we'll be going to hell. Come on, you can't take your karma. Then he asks his children, look at my dear little children. I'm doing all this so you can grow up nice. Will you take part in the Karma? Look how we're just beginning our life. For us to start it off with a big load of that karma. We didn't ask to be your children. You can't take your karma. So then he goes, my dear wife, my better half, my life companion I love. Surely he will take half of the karma. What do you mean take karma? Look at already I'm living in a cave and hiding and no social life. Only bring me you saris. You want me to take half of your karma also? I'm already giving you my life. What more do you want? You keep the karma. So then he went back to the other holy shook up. You're right. Nobody wants to take the Karma. What am I doing all this for them? So then he said, so you should chant name of God. Name of what? I can't even think about such things. All my life I've been a criminal. You ask me to think of something holy. Forgive it. That's what you tell him. Okay. Then you chant murder, murder, murder, kill, kill, kill. In Sanskrit. Mara, mara, mara, mara, mara, mara, mara, mara, mara, mara, mara, mara, mara. After chanting, he goes, ram, ram, ram, ram. So how Narada Munini, he's so expert person says I can't chant anything. Holi. He doesn't chant kill, but kill. When he chanted, you know, one after another he comes around. I mean, I'm just appreciating how Narada Muni, he's such a dynamic creature that, you know, he's about to be killed by a rambur and he turns around, gets enchanting. Japan. I mean, that's amazing, isn't it? How many people can do that? But that's the dynamic preaching. To be able to present, to see what a person needs, to be able to understand Ka consciousness. If all of us get the blessing of Ragamuni, to be able to preach like that to different people, that they actually suddenly realize from their own perspective why they should be chanting Hare Ka. Why weren't they doing the different sinful and materialistic activities, Samskara cases, wasting their life, that's his special expertise. And we should, while we try to get that mercy from him, I pray at this Lord his feet, that we could get him to be able to present Ka kinds in such a way that whoever it is that we can present in such a way that that person will be able to easily assimilate it and be able to make a change in their life. Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare. Any question? Yes, Theo.
Because it derives from the supreme personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna. Is that Bhakti yoga?
It's also part of Bhakti yoga. Krishna says by trying to understand Bhagavad Gita, you're making a sacrifice of your mind and intelligence to serve him other person.
Anything other than understanding Bhakti Yoga through the Trima Bhagavatam is that Karma Yoga.
Karma Yoga means that we offer. We do some work for Ka and we offer the resulting. If one is chanting and following the principles of devotional service and they work for Ka, then it becomes a part of bhakti. But they say someone doesn't chant or doesn't follow specifically devotional service, but they're just coming. Like someone may come and say that I'll work and from the work I'll donate something. That's also like Harman Yoga. The Karma Yogas part of Bhakti, but it doesn't necessarily include bhakti. But bhakti already includes Karna Yoga. So someone is not doing the chanting and not doing and then just come up to watch the parts so that just doing some work for Krishna work for me. That's Karma Buddha. So usually studying the scriptures, it's more than than Karma Yoga. But just doing some work, maybe fruited work and giving the fruit to Ka. That was Karma Yoga. Someone may want to give some donation temple. They may have a garden and get some vegetables. They may not chant, they may not be vegetarian, they may not do anything else. Fruits of the laboratory, the material universe.
Being created on sound, vibration on sound.
Krishna's root was what inspired Brahma, initiated him. He was meditating and then he started to do Tapasya. And then he heard the sound of Krishna's flute entered his ear. Game of initiation. So the Ka flute sound is said to be not different from their Kama Gayatri. But the creation supposed to have started from the Omkar Sam Om was vibrated by the Lord and that started the material creation.
Still just one more. When Krishna initiated Brahman through the fluid.
Which is.
So expressing the female Bhagavata is expressing that truth from the absolutely absolute present body. Then any distortion from the truth from the Sri Lanka, the tongue through say all the temples throughout the world through their interpretation or misrepresentation of the Srimad Bhagavatam, then living Entity isn't exactly being the truth. Back through all those steps to Krishna playing the flute.
That's why the Greek Shivas are trained now to misrepresent things in the class. If you hear something that's a different conclusion than what is given in the scripture here, then you can question that just to be sure it doesn't go off the track. But normally we would hope that all the temples are sticking to the Parambara authorized version. And therefore people are getting the. The full sauce, the unadulterated juice, the nectar as it is. That's what I was once flying in a huahi in Mayapur and they have a radio that just broadcasts for about 400 meters. So out of the. Out of the. I was walking by in the restaurant and I heard somebody giving a class. I just stopped to listen. He was in the temple and he didn't know that the whole world was listening to him. He started saying the most ridiculous things and he ran to the temple and got on his case. What are you saying? And then he saw. So it is important sometimes for senior devotees to hear what people are speaking. Problem is to listen to his own disciples. Give fast sometimes. And even now he would tell a disciple he gave birds today. Sit there, listen, give me class. How do I do your best before shall grow up. So sometimes we also like to listen. Often we were doing a league south Indian safari when we had different devotees speak. This time it was a bit rushed. But sometimes we have devotees speak longer, sometimes short speeches. Bhava dashing over the devotees to a Krishna from here who's preaching Bhavanes sometimes. So they asked to give 15 Thai speeches. This is men and women also. I used to give talks and get to hear the holidays preach. I personally like to see all the devotees to develop their skills in presenting Krishna consciousness translation from the Sanskrit. This supreme science was thus received through the chain of the cyclic succession. And the sailing kings understood it in that way. But in the course of time the succession was broken and therefore the science as it is appears to be lost. The very ancient science of the relationship with the supreme is today told by me to you, because you are my devotee as well as my friend and can therefore understand the transcendental mystery of the science. The supreme science was thus received through the chain of the sibling succession. And the saintly kings understood it in that way. But in the course of time. But in the course of time the succession was broken. The succession was broken. And therefore the science as it is. And therefore the science as it is appears to be lost appears to be lost. The very ancient science Very ancient science on the relationship of the relationship with the supreme with the supreme is today told by me to you. Is today told by me to you. Because you are my devotee. Because you are my devotee as well as my friend. As well as my friend. I can therefore understand the transcendental mystery of this science. There are two classes of men, namely the devotee and the demon. The Lord selected Arjuna as the recipient of this great science owing to his being a devotee of the Lord. But for the demon it is not possible to understand this great mysterious science. There are a number of editions of this book of knowledge. Some of them have commentaries by the devotees and some of them have commentaries by the demons. Commentation by the devotees is real, whereas that of the demons is useless. Arjuna accepts Sri Krishna as the supreme personality of God. Had any commentary on the Gita following in the footsteps of Arjuna, there's real devotional service to the cause of this great science. The demonic Bhav would not accept Lord Krishna as he is. Instead they concoct something about Ka and mislead general devotees in the path of KA's instruction. Here is a warning about such misleading paths. One should try to follow the simplic succession from Arjuna and thus be benefited by this great science of Rudika. Krishna had declared that the purpose of the Bhagavad Gita appeared to be lost in the same way. At the present moment also, there are so many editions of the Bhagavad Gita, especially in English, but almost all of them are not according to authorized disciplic succession. There are numerous interpretations rendered by different mundane scholars, but almost all of them do not accept the supreme personality of God and Ka. All of them make a good business under words of Sri Krishna. This spirit is demonic because demons do not believe in God, but simply enjoy the property of the Supreme. Since there is a great need of an edition of the Bhagavad Gita in English as it is received by the Paramhara of the sibling succession system, an attempt is made herewith to fulfill this Great One. Bhagavad Gita, accepted as it is, is a great boon to humanity. But if it is accepted as a treatise of philosophical speculations, it is simply a waste of time. So let's end the translation of St Rupert to the Bible Gita, fourth chapter, second and third verse. Bhagava means of, means the Lord and Gita means song. The song of the Lord or Song of God or some of the supreme personality of God. Many people have theories in the material world and they promote their theories. But we find that none of the theories, the theories may or may not be accurate. Sometimes theories are totally wrongly placed. So then the question who does one believe? So the Vedas describes that the Lord and living entities are different because the Lord is infallible. Where the living entities are fallible, Ka is infallible. The living entities have four defects. Living entities make mistakes. They have imperfect senses, therefore their perception is sometimes wrong. They get illusions something might be presented which distorts what they see. And there's also the cheating propensity. Sometimes people jump. In America there was one big PhD who was co Nobel Prize winner for science who had to return the prize because she had cheated on her research putting false results just to match with what she wanted to have him. This is a multi million dollar research. Later when someone else duplicated it at great expense, it didn't work and she got exposed. So these things happen. In England they had dinosaur bones which were accepted as a kind of missing link. And later it was found that they were false. They were. Yeah, some different animal bones put together with some glue and things. They do it expertly. So it took a while to figure out this four defects are there. Krishna doesn't have his defects. He has no reason to achieve. He's not revolution. He died sentenced to have imperfect senses and he has all the knowledge. So when it comes to understanding something about the absolute truth, then it's recommended that Ka is reliable. If we get the message of Ka in the disciplic's accession and it's given without any change, then that's a safe way to receive the knowledge it. Therefore we accept the Bhagavad Gita as authoritative. That's why great scholars, religionists, people all over the world have been studying Bhagavad Gita. The Vedas is considered to be the cream of all the Vedas. So writing a spiritual literature is not ordinary thing. It's something very special. In order to write, one has to be properly empowered by the previous spiritual masters to learn from them submissively and repeat as one learn. Thank you for watching our videos.
