2002 || Gītā and Bhāgavatam Class || Amsterdam, Netherlands #JayapatakaSwamiArchives

Recorded December 25, 2002: Jaya Pataka Swami teaches from the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam that uncontrolled lust — seated in the senses, mind, and intelligence — covers the soul and perpetuates material bondage. He recommends bhakti-yoga (engaging senses in Krishna service: kirtan, prasadam, festival service such as Rathyatra) as the practical method to regulate desires and awaken spiritual identity. The lecture also discusses meditation on the Lord’s many forms and gives numerous anecdotes illustrating communal chanting and deity worship.
Ram. Sam. Ram. Ram. A short class with a slideshow after or just who wants class and slideshow? We take two of class Slideshow or just class? Class and slideshow will make your vote. Class and slideshow both. Who's taunted? Just class. Then you can make it fun and how far. If there was a choice between the class and the slideshow, I would pick the class. However, if you want to do both, then that's fine. Through them, lust covers the real knowledge of the living entity and the world.
And saint.
Report the enemy has captured different strategic positions in the body of the conditions fall and therefore Lord Krishna is giving hints of those places so that one who wants to conquer the enemy may know where he can be found. Mind is the center of all the activities of the senses, and thus when we hear about sense objects, the mind generally becomes the reservoir of all ideas of sense gratification. And as a result the mind and the senses become the repositories of lust. Next, the intelligence department becomes the capital of such lustful propensities. Intelligence is the immediate next door neighbor of the spirit soul. Lusty intelligence influences the spirit soul to acquire the false ego and identify itself with matter and thus with the mind and the senses. The spirit soul becomes addicted to enjoying the material senses and mistakes this as true happiness. This false identification of the spirit soul is very nicely explained in the Srimad Bhagavatam 108413 Sai Bhagav Kara, a human being who identifies his body made of three elements with itself, who considers the byproducts of the body to be his kinsmen, and who considers the lamb of birth worshipable, and who goes to the place of pilgrimage simply to take a bath rather than meet men of transcendental knowledge is to be considered like an ants or a cow. Excuse me, chapter three, text 20. In verse 37, Krishna explains answers a question, Sajuna answers question by what is one impelled to sinful acts, even unwillingly, as if engaged by force? Anybody here ever was forced to do something they didn't want to do, just like their nature kind of took over and you did something like that and you regretted why they did a stupid thing that ever happened to anybody here? Yeah, a few people. So when Krishna answers what is this enemy? He says it is lust. Only Arjuna which is born of contact with the material mode of passion and later transformed into wrath and which is the all devouring sinful enemy of this world. Explain this fire is covered by smoke as Amir is covered by dust or as the embryo is Covered by the womb, the living entity is similarly covered by different degrees of this lust. How much one is covered by material desire is different degrees. Thus the wise living entity's pure consciousness becomes covered by his eternal enemy in the form of lust, which is never satisfied and which brings back fire. The senses, the mind and intelligence are the sitting places of this lust. To them, lust covers the real knowledge of the living entity of the world. Listen. The next verse is in the very beginning curve this great symbol of sin, lust, by regulating the senses and slay the destroyer of knowledge with self realization. This is the enemy of the self. What's keeping us in the material world? What forces us to take birth again and again? Sri Krishna tells us the enemy that's bringing us into this illusion is our uncontrolled material desire. All this lots of what we identify. And this prabhupada provokes this beautiful way. The prabhupada says it. The spirit soul becomes addicted to enjoying the material senses and mistakes. This is true happiness. Lusty intelligence influences the spirit soul to acquire the false ego and identify itself with matter and thus with the mind and senses. So we identify ourselves with this body and the senses and the mind. The intelligence is facilitating this whole thing. So if we can handle the intelligence, the mind and the senses, these three things, these are the three sitting places of this lust. Yesterday there was a drama at the Radcartra in Birmingham Hill. The drama was there were three actors, at least three. I don't know how many more, but one guy had on his T shirt me. Another one had the mind, the other one had the intelligence, I think. So here he's of the senses. No mind was there, the senses were intelligent. But he was finding out that his mind and senses were in control. Even though the self dishonor of the body and the mind. When they kidnap us because of this lust and they take control. So the spirit soul is just like as if you kidnap somebody and then put them under some kind of drug. They don't know really what's going on. But so the spirit soul gets illusioned and just identifies that this is me. Or actually it's not at all anything to do with manner. They acquire false ego and identify with matter itself. This is the illusion. So if you want to get control of the mind and senses, then the secret is to engage them in ka service. This way of regulating them is to engage them. You can't just stop. It's like almost as much. I mean they can. I mean that's what some yogis do. Is they just stop everything and go meditate on some cave. But for most people that's quite an impossible alternative. To go into some secluded place and just sit down and meditate. Trying to stop all the activities of their mind. And to the yoga Astanga yoga system to see in between the thoughts and realize the soul. It may take many births to do that, even under ideal circumstances. So bhakti yoga instead means that we go with the flow of our senses, but instead we engage them in ka service. They want to eat, so eat prasad. You want to see something. See the beautiful deities decorated by the loving Gujaris. Smell the flower offered the ka here, pass around. I was at the Woodstock festival and I was 400,000 young people talking about people under the control of the senses and brain. Trying to get a lecture to them. Especially about 10 o' clock at night. It was really tough. One time they asked me to give a lecture and it was right then I realized they had to engage their senses. So the next two lectures I was more successful. One, I had a whole kirtan lecture. I was chanting and talking and chanting and I have about 15 girls behind me doing movements and they have support the keyboard and the. So then they could focus because there was a lot of things going on for the senses. Then one day I gave a talk and I explained how this is a sensual process. We use our senses in Krishna service. That's the way bhakti yoga works. That's how we regulate them. We use them as Krishna service. And then this is like putting the fire out on the left by engaging ka service. And gradually the senses start to cool down, the mind cools down, everything gets under control. You just try to stop cold. It's a little difficult. Maybe temporarily someone can do. But it's like holding your breath, tongue can do hold. Pretty soon it's going to go out. So the prabhupada explains to an enemy is captured strategic positions, mind intelligence and senses. First thing is to bring the intelligence on our side. I was talking this morning, there was a girl in Birmingham, I think I said from Birmingham. And so she asked why is it, you know, why don't we just feel like you're doing everything our listen to. Do you really, you know, you really want to enjoy it.
But she was like forced you forcing yourself.
It's the right thing. So it's explaining that what you're saying. It's just not you talking, it's your mind talking you that you the soul, the closest thing to the soul is intelligence. So the Intelligence has already understood this, what I should do. But you're still seeing yourself from the viewpoint of the mind. Therefore, from the mind's point of view, it's still identified with the senses, thinking, I'd like to enjoy my senses. And so there's this struggle going on between the mind and the intelligence. So what you have to do is put ourselves in the identity of the self and the thoughts of our intelligence. We identify that from the point of view of the self, of the spirit, soul. And then when the mind thinks, I want to do this or that, which if we don't want to do those things, then we have to smash the mind and engage the mind in some activities that we know are good for the mind, engage the senses and some activities which are goodness, like senses of the royal. Making beautiful flower garlands in case of your senses and their mind designing a new garland for the Lord. This is a transcendental activity that's performed even by the Gopis in the spiritual world. Do you know that? Yes. What do you think makes the garlands for Krishna? No, buy it from the store. The Gopis said they were making the garments. See here, other ones. My garland. Krishna Chetan Cheramina. What she tell you? A thought that watching the Gopis collect flowers and he's helping them. That's one of the big activities, praying about the best flowers. Says Champaka. Lotha has a special guardian of Champaka flowers.
She hid it away.
And now the Dinvas should fight. And mystically she go every day and bring in the best flowers, bring over to Vrindava and have a vein in the garlands by her Majaris and Victor Krishna. Anyway, however you engage your senses in Krishna service is something you have to do with the senses. So keep them busy. We're thinking we're made, we are in this body. That's the whole problem. We have to understand that this body is a machine. We're not the body. We're the living force that's in the body. And we are the proprietor of the body. Actually, Krishna is the ultimate. But we're not supposed to control this body. We're responsible for whatever the body does. But instead of us controlling it, it's being taken over by the energy, by this lust. And lust is just taking us from one place to the next. And we're just totally captive, like Krishna is saying. Kaya, right from the beginning, we declare war on lust. Lust means doing things just because our senses want it. Everything we do should be for some higher purpose, should be because we want to do it. We should not just do things because you know, it feels good. So I do it, I feel good, hates it doesn't feel good to dilate. So to control the senses we have to have some negation for them. That's where the devotional service comes in. If we engage our senses in Krishna service like you have in your Rathyatra in a few days next week. And that gives an opportunity for devotees to do all kinds of service, right? Decorating the rathkayers, showing already some of the line of service of getting all the permissions and things, setting up the stalls, doing the deity worship, carrying the water break through town, pulling it up. What else? Cooking. Cooking service. Cooking for the morning, for the prasad institution. Organizing the podium, all the plays and okay, the dramatic cultural events, plays and then the management of this whole thing and then talking to people when they come there, distributing the prasadam, serving on the prasadam, distributing books, receiving donations, all kinds of services. So this is a big yajna to do a Rathyatra. And this way here's an opportunity for some people to come out and they just get so fired up to do service from the Radhyatra that you don't see them. You want everybody should taste the nectar. Actually when you engage in Krishna service you get a spiritual happiness which you can't get anywhere else. Just like one day La Chitanya showed up in the room of Sara Bonacharya who was sleeping late. He flipped through mongalactes. So everybody popped in this room and sat up. There was a whole group of 10, 15 people in the room. You know, watch item. The high Krishna painted the he didn't see a mangal artist. So he thought maybe something happened. Here is some Maha Prashad for voc and he handed them some cashews. So he ate them. Then La Chitanya gave cashews to all the other devotees. But then lo Chitanya said that Serb Moab Shai, you're out smart to Brahma.
You'Re out of rabbit.
Conservative priest, you know that according to the smarter rules you have to bathe before you eat. We just got you right in bed. I set you up, I gave you this cashews. You didn't even brush your teeth. You ate them. So isn't this breaking the rules of hygenity? And then Sarah Bodashai replied at each point in the verse and Sanskrit and says when you get j left, prasad is transcendental. Time, place, circumstance. Any kind of rules and regulations don't count whether you obey them. May you clean them. Whatever it is, if you get prasad, you just take it and serve it. The Lord Shatavi was very happy. He said, I was just testing you. He passed the test. Then he gave everyone the cashews. I know Keshe will make the. He looked worth it. And then he said, what do you think of it all? Said it was fantastic and it's great. I said, we've all had a cashew before we get to some nut. What's the big deal? Just an ordinary nut. This is something special. Eating this prasada of Jagannath, you feel something different, you feel special. The taste is something extraordinary. So because it was offered to Krishna and Krishna tasted it, the nectar of Ka's lips has penetrated the food. You're actually tasting the nectar of Ka's lips. That's why, even though visibly it looks just like an ordinary cashew, but it doesn't something special. I had some really rich people in my airport come. We served them some simple prasad kitchri and they said, you know, I mean, if I wanted to put a kitchri and I could have kitchri, I could put raisins in it, I could put peanuts, I could put anything I wanted, I could put, you know, gold in it, but it wouldn't taste like that. What is your secret? How is it that you make the prasadam tastes so great? Because it's offered to the Lord, the Lord tastes it. This has some special feature that it cannot materially describe. It's not the sum total of all the elements. It's something transcendental. So like that our material activities, everything is just so. It doesn't enlighten the soul. When you add Krishna to it, then it has some transcendental feature which is somehow satisfying to the self so much. Normally for people to get that kind of taste they have to be very great saints. But Lord Chaitanya gives that taste very easily, very quickly through the chanting of Hare Kaari and through the devotional service. So we need to make a kind of a categorical decision that am I going to act on the platform of a married soul or am I going to just act in the form of illusion? Does it sum that he says that I do going to act on their illusion and there's no use in really talking to them because you can talk, but it's like somebody who's awake and they're pretending they're asleep. It's hard to wake him up. They've already decided that I don't want too much for life. I know what it is, I don't want it. I just want to go with one. Then you have to wait until they get kitten on the map and change their mind. Okay. Eventually it's a personal decision everybody makes. If somebody decides that I want to actually experience what is transcendental part of my own life, supreme happiness. And to do that I have to get my senses and mind under control. Not that don't totally stop the extra sensual activity rather, but it's just dovetailed in ka service. It's regulated. Kurdishtaharasu Viharasu says moderate eating and moderate recreation. Recreation is there. How can you live without recreation? But it's all in some moderate. So our recreation is hari nams. So many other kinds of spiritual recreation. Some people get in some religions, like band music. It's like music in some religions. Pre use music, reused music, a song, a dance. Some people say. I think it was so much fun during spiritual things. Sometimes spiritual things when you have to like whip yourself, cause blood. Some people do that big procession, you know, when they whip themselves, wear thorns around their head. It's not our procedure. We already suffered in this material world. Now Lord Sutani wants us to be happy. He said however. He said he'll be extremely pleased when he sees people rolling on the ground in ecstasy, crying in ecstasy, laughing in ecstasy. This is what he wants to see. The people overwhelmed with bliss. How many approve of watch. Do you approve of what? Chaitanya's program to make everybody happy. This gentleman does he approved?
Yeah.
Did you know English?
No English.
That's. We have some translation maybe, but. I understand, but no, it was a little bit. Not bad. Bring down my computer mag and my projector. Meanwhile we can have a few questions. Now we know that first soul comes from the spiritual world originally. The soul is so eternally reactive for a long time. Then he takes the feelings for either serving Krishna or serving man. And then he comes to idolatry or spiritual. If we start to take hypothetical good scenarios and what we can do about that one's a computer. Where do we. What's the wall? We use that wall. We end this corner part. No, no, no. This where? Where Only now there's no. No, it's painted. Now it's painted.
Yeah.
Now. Now this side. This side here. Where this. We get a choice whether to be in the material or spiritual world. How long we're in ka, in which form we're in ka. When fifth is choice. It's all an eternal time. It's not in the material time.
Whether it's A beginning or end.
Some of the souls that are here, the Brahma Jyoti, they're coming down all the time. They get a choice, but they have to take the material choice. They don't know about spiritual. So there's different Masri that they only. They always make material. 99.9%. What should I say? They don't have an absence. Not all about spiritual authenticity. Tatasta or magyasta shakti means the middle. In the middle, energy. We're spiritual, but we're so small that we can either be controlled by the spiritual or the material. So when we're controlled by the material, that's through all these different lusts. Now we have to bring the lust under control, bring down the fever, bring down the. So you just tell people they can't do it on their own. That's why you have to be clear to others. And festivals, they chant a lot. And automatically, even without them knowing it, it's not been planned. They've engaged their senses in ka service.
And they feel happy.
I was at this Krasinski festival where the Bhakti Ringo Vinda Maharaj, where there's like 300,000, 400,000 people. And he chants all night from 11 o' clock at night at the. Until 4 or 5 in the morning. There's maybe 5,000 people, 10,000 people, singing with them, dancing, some of them in their swimming suits and different outfits. And these are just people and many other people. There's maybe 400 devotees and 5,000, 10,000. Just people that walk off the street. So one time after this chanting, the next morning you have Mangalarti in the morning. And then everyone goes to sleep, chant all night, Mangalarti goes to sleep. My normal program, choosing the opposite. So then they get up again at about 9, 10 o' clock and start chanting a Japan for the next day. It's a really amazing program. So this couple came up to me and answered. The guy asked the question. I said, shouldn't no problem have a translator? Then they said, we joined into your singing last night and we were singing with you for 5, 6 hours with your group. And we realized that we never felt happier in our whole life. But we didn't know what the heck we were singing. We're singing it, we don't know what does it mean and what is it? So that's like Nityananda's Varjitanya's process to give people so much ecstasy. Then after they say, wow, that was great. What is this? I want to do this all the time. Sometimes we make it so hard for people to tell them all the rules and regulations and this and that.
I'm not going to do all that.
And we scare people away. Instead you just have a big cure time and everybody singing dance gets so ecstatic and they say wow, I want to be this happy all the time. And then you know, gradually once they get attached to it, then you start they realize that well, if you really want to get this level of happiness all the time, you got to give up smoking. Otherwise you get that happiness and you do some material thing and you bring your consciousness down. What people normally do, the so called get high actually brings you down in spiritual life. So you want to stay spiritually quiet. You're going to do the things that are going to bring you down. Read somewhere in if I'm not mistaken that the jiva or the spirit soul is eternally individual as opposed to what the impersonal tried to say is that everything is such one. And if that's the case then one could surmise or argue and if we are eternally individual, then theoretically we could also be considered to be self existent and self created. How is this? What does the KA conscious view at this point? Yes. Krishna says.
Living entities that are part and parcels.
Although as long as Krishna existed, we are also part of it. We are also existing, but we are part of Krishna. We don't have an independent existence. How is it possible to be individual but not independent? Individual means that Krishna explains in the Bhagavad Gita chapter. Again, we are conscious of our body. We're conscious of what's going on in our body, but we're not aware what's going on in somebody else's body. So that we have like where Krishna has universal. I have an adapter somewhere in my suitcase. My little suitcase. Yeah. Okay. This is pause and play. An adapter. Adapter that is applied to European. The gray. Yeah. The maybe in the highest.
Where's the king?
Behind here. There were a lot of ladies and guys chanting. She was also chanting and dancing. This is a band from Czech Republic. I don't know. It's like trying to preach in the hellish planets. Does anybody recognize himself? I think it's more like a friend making program. So in the middle of the day now picked up so many people when they get their faces painted become GOPIs in one day they cover like something like 1,500 people. Sometimes they take a break. You know. This is a beautiful dance ensemble called Sham. Some of these girls are from Birmingham and UK and some Are from South Africa. She's a poet. I think Adam or Veda from South Africa or from Birmingham. Berlins have also just shown Indian musician. All right. Is that. I don't know. Looks like it sounds. Yeah. They're all accomplished positions. Drama 2 question and answer Booth from inside out. Here's my friendly group. It went somewhere actually for two hours. I have the place packed like this. Sri Lanka is pretty healthy. She polite. We also have a pretty packed tent. What do you think? How many people are you? At least a thousand. I know they say people got a little carried away.
I don't know.
He started thinking one of it started getting really heavy.
I don't know why.
He started preaching like fire brimstone or something. So some team over. They started throwing beer bombs down. Why is he antagonizing you? They threw out beer cannon. He said it's not my flame. That's the only time ever as private do that for I don't know something over me. Furthermore, from the shelter van the secretary went on the main stage. Shelter van. Wow. Here's one there. That looks like 50,000 people. 3, 400 is to pay or 300,000 supposed to be. Yeah. You come over to the other groups. Come play for the playing the Hare Krishna tent. And they play on the main stage tent. I want to get some lecture too. Why everybody else see the health requirement. You got to have plastic. Plastic is pure. He's come and come to the Rathyatra. All right. He's going to come for our Rathyatra. Okay. Any spiritually if I get. If I get some special message, I'm going to appear. Donor Raha said it. It's like really stressful, you know for the devotees. They're working after all at this very time. Just go around and wait. Just never ends.
People just keep coming.
Cutting up the place and they charging 75 cents of a euro. Some more. I was talking. People like it. There were a hundred thousand plates of Pashani sham dancers.
Saitama, Yadish, Sam Ram, VIP.
Sanchi always.
But Savotaris out of compassion of the personality of manhood.
Personality.
Multi shark, alligator and all different elephants. Kunda of his earrings by the oscillation crystal clear. His cheeks prominent. Prominent. Translation the Lord the yogi should then meditate on the lotus like countenance of the Lord who presents his different forms in this world. Out of compassion for the anxious devotees. His nose is prominent and his crystal clear cheeks are illuminated by the oscillation of his glittering alligator shaped earrings. The Lord descends to the material world out of his deep compassion for his devotees. There are two reasons for the Lord's appearance or incarnation in the material world. Whenever there is a discrepancy and the discharge of religious principles and there is a preeminence of irreligion. The Lord descends for the protection of the devotees and the destruction of the non devotees. When he appears, the main purpose is to give solace to his devotees. He does not have to kill Himself to destroy the demons, for he has many agents. Even the external energy Maya has sufficient strength to kill them. But when he comes to show compassion to his devotees, he kills the non devotees as the manner. Of course the Lord appears in a particular form loved by a particular type of devotee. There are millions of forms of the Lord, but they are one absolute. They are one absolute as stated in Brahma, Samhita, Advayita, Machuta, Manadi, Manam, Darupam. All the different forms of the Lord are one. But some devotees want to see him in the form of Raha and Ka, others prefer to see him as Sita and Ramachandra, others want see him as Lakshmi Dharayana and others want to see him as the Forehead and the lion of Va Sudheira. The Lord has innumerable forms and he appears in a particular form as preferred by a particular type of devotee. A devotee is advised to meditate upon the forms that are approved by devotees. A yogi cannot have action or form for meditation. Those so called yogis who manufacture a circle or a target are engaged in nonsense. Asha Yogi must meditate upon the form of the supreme personality of Yahya that has been experienced by the more pure devotees. Jogi means devotee. Yogis who are not actually pure devotees should follow in the footsteps of devotees. It is especially mentioned here that the jogi should meditate upon a form which is approved and thus approved. He cannot manufacture a form of reward to the Srimad Bhagavatam. 3rd K 28th Chapter 29th verse in the mantra of Kapila's instructions on devotional service. We can see here that the meditation that is prescribed even for the mystic yogis, when they do their asanas and their pranayamas and they do meditation, they should meditate on the form of the Lord, not some kind of mangala or some sort of target. Usually the mayo body is saying meditate on some candle or something and he was just staring at the candle or staring at something. Instead he has recommended you think about you meditate on this beautiful form of the Lord. Here we have so many different forms of the Lord. So some of the Bhakti yogis they meditate on these forms of the Lord will exchange Japa. Right? That's the recommended way. And this verse is so beautiful. It's just overwhelming. The translations are quite wonderful. But then the original Sanskrit is a very beautiful poetry with many similarities. And of course Alamkara's decorations. My Francesca seems to be so much more beautiful than in English. And how the Lord is just giving me so much mercy for his devotees. He accepts to manifest different presents different forms to give his devotee. Just like with Bishop when he was passing away. He wanted to see the form of the Lord as the battlefield. That was his desire. He was like attached to that form. Similar form Ka fighting. That was the form that he was attracted to. Worshipable deity was actually the rainbow wants to see the deity of Ram. Similarly I've been devoted to have different attractions. There's the one, the Ashinga, Nanda Brahmachari, Chaitanya Leela. And he was the Shinga Bhakta. So he had always meditating on the Shingi days. That was. He was like Ishta Devota worshipable Lord. Actually every one of us should have some worshipable form. What Chittenden recommends we should worship Radha and Ka. But in case one has some other very strong attachment, then that's also okay. If there's neutrally attributed style Radha and Krishna versus Lord Thay they're also not different. So Radha and Krishna and Lord Ni Thaying can both be focused on. But we dedicate ourselves to serving Sam deity. It's just like saying that you deposit your money in one bank but the bank will have many branches. All branches are not different from the bank. It's all just different manifestation. It's a very crude example. But you have got a personal relationship with one particular branch, isn't it? It's the bank manager, the teller and the secretary. I mean some banks is on personal. It's a horrible example. But we make our deposits now we have atm. You don't even go to the. You don't even see a person. But at least the point is that there are different ways of accessing. But the Lord he's still a very personal form. Sweet and Allah by my personal relationship with the Lord. And so somebody just like he was very attached to Sri 10 Rab and he wanted to worship always he was disturbed in worshipping Sri Chan Rav and Lord Chanya told him that you should worship Radha and Krishna supreme. So then he tried all night to worship Ramish his worship but all the time Sitay Ram's vision was coming back to me. So in the morning he was. He couldn't sleep the whole night. In the morning the Lord Situ saw him. He was very pale and bowed and said My Lord, I tried to carry out your order the whole night. But somehow I kept thinking of Sita in hell. So I failed to carry out your order. What is the use of meddling? I want to go and take my life now because I fail to carry out your order.
And once you tell you picked him.
Up and faced him and said it's okay, you can worship see through Rav, you're the real Ram Bhakta. So Prabhupada explained that he confirmed if someone really has a gender wide attention or some other form of avogadro, we want just starting out with Vesatan. Any particular? Even better try to develop Prana and Krishna 4 like that. There are some other devotees. So one time Lord Chaitanya was going into South India and he visited one Brahmana. And this Brahmana was a real Rambakta also. He always would turn him around. In fact when he was serving prasad he wouldn't say really want more to say. Everything would be Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram. Just occasionally he'd talk if there was no other way to get around it like what's your name? Otherwise if anything could be said by Ram then he would say Ram. So he was non stop Ram champion and Loisha time. He said why don't you attempt Krishna? He says name is more powerful. He said, actually I know, I study, I collect verses on the glories of the Holy Name. And I know that in the I think it's the Siddha Purana it says that a thousand names of Vishnu are equal to one name around. But in the same Sriva purana says.
That.
One name of ka is equal to 3,000 names of Vishnu. One name of ka, 3,000 names of Vishnu. That means it's three times more powerful than Ravna, the name of Ravn. So naturally I should share name of Krishna. But I'm just too attached. I can't give up with anyone. I know what you're saying is correct. I agree with you. But I can't do anything about it. And there's so much attached to him. Then Lord she turned away and he went to the Sri Saila and he saw Shiva and they had some discussion. He came back again the same way. Next time he came and he saw the person. The person said Hare Kisha Hare kisses. What happened to you, you were telling me around Ram before, now you say hi Krishna, you know you fell down in the feel of Lord. Chaitanya said I don't know what happened ever since I saw you. Now Krishna belm is coming in my mind. So I think you must be Krishna. I don't know how is it nobody can change me. You know how is it you change me? Who are you? I want to know who you are.
And then so then once you turn.
Their yield to him then he's actually Krishna himself. So sometimes Krishna may use his all powerful attractive feature to attract a devotee. But all these forms of the Lord, they're all reward as the Prabhupada mentions here in this verse there are millions of forms of the Lord but they are one absolute. They are one absolute, millions of thousands of branches of the brain but they are one being. It's all one form of one word. But he does different forms, that's all. So some forms are bigger and some forms are. But they're all the same. Some forms are more complete. Sri Krishna is fully complete and Ram is almost complete. And then Vishnu is a little less complete. But they all form of the water. They're much more insignificant specks compared to any form of the world. So you know the beautiful form of Vishnu is so attractive. It describes, you know the Vadana with the Varana means face, countenance, waters. The way that this, the way that presented itself. This seems so beautiful. There's so many words for lotus in Sanskrit. I was just looking through some of the previous verses because it was so beautiful. There was one interesting words.
Something about Sam.
The previous verse is really heavy. It says the previous 28. Yeah. Sri VI because Lakshmi is born of a lotus. So sometimes she's known as Kamala and Kamala is lotus. Kamala means Lashmi and Sri Niketa the home of Shri, home of Lakshmi. So Srivi gave him can also mean the chest of the Lord because he always Sri Rah his eyes on the chest of Lord. And also can be lotus because she appears in the lotus. She's not born by the normal biological birth. It appears in the locust. That's everything. Next. Beautiful, I mean just.
Overwhelmed by the.
Beauty of the world in these beautiful descriptions. Just yesterday, just a few days ago we were talking about Makara, Queen Kundara and Ban was there very solemn lectures and very well versed. So asking him what is this Makara? And then he went and said that's like translated as a shark. Sometimes it's translated as alligator shape but it's a combination like a fish which has like an elephant trunk, which has like teeth, like a shark, which has some parts of it, like alligator. It's like a little nascent, kind of a mystical fish figure. And this makara, which is hardly even translated because it's like a whole verse just so. But everyone goes with makara. It's just like. Like a shark, like something. But it's not. It's like all is none of it. And that's Krishna and imitas who loot. He has that kind of figure at the end. And also his earrings. So his earrings are hanging with his little shark type. The shark would probably sound too heavy. It's like just a trademark. I think maybe this thinking about naming somebody kundaladasi or something. We were discussing how every one of these words is like filled with kundala. There are different kinds of earrings. Like, you know, the earrings that you put in your. You know, like stuck into your ear. I call those where you have to pierce the ears. And kundala. Kundala Dalavi is hanging. Hanging earring. So that's a different. So they have a specific word for different kind of interested earrings. But they have two different words for earring that's stuck and earring that's hanging. And so much. The language is so rich. Not only do you meditate on the beautiful lotus light they serve the Lord. You rejoice the video. You meditate on the effulgent, glimmering, dangling yearning in the shape of this makara. So it's dangling, it's glittering and it has this. I mean, so much detail is given. How do you. How can people be impersonal? I mean, it's like how do they come up with this bundle of. I can't do something. It's so crazy here. It's given us so much to meditate. This is a form of the Lord that's in your heart. This form of the Lord is in your heart. Once Lord Satan was saying, where is Krishna? Where is Krishna? I used to be. So much separation. Sometimes he said in your heart, started ripping it. He was like mad at that time of separation. He started looking at his chest. That's not the way.
Of course.
Sometimes once you turn it with this, become overwhelmed with ecstasy. I was thinking how the Bible says that man is made in the image of God. But then sometimes Christians are so amazing. How is it that you are picturing God as a human? What other way would he be? I mean, do you say in the Bible manner, made in his image? So what's the big surprise if we have a form of the Lord that's not human form. The Krishna has many other forms like Matsya, Purva Braha Vishal blessing slideshow. So that's amatas and some devotees, they are very much attached to a particular form. The Vastudeva was one devotee who was manually attached to Varahidev to somehow that the Lord appeared in this form as a pig. It's a boar. But he's like. Boars are dirty animals right in there in the mucky places and you know, eat unmet things. But the Lord, when he appears as a divine boar, he's a fountain. And when he appeared, it says that the Brahma was praying the Lord to help us. The Earth has fallen out of orbit because of this divas. And I think this should be Lord Varaha should be the patron of Devi for the Greeks, for the ecological parties. Because in the Vedas and this is interesting point, why don't that it gives an ancient history that sometime before in the previous creation they were draining out so many carbon elements, so much fuel from inside the Earth that there's a fire in the middle of the Earth. Nobody knows what makes the planets in orbit, right? And there's a fire inside the Earth. Now this fire is somehow related to the planets or staying in the proper ornament. How what makes For a fire to burn, you need fuel. So we're draining off for our cars and everything, all the fuel. What happens, you know, how many millions of years or thousands of years later when that fuel is needed in the center of the Earth, it won't be there. So for some time in the future we're messing people up. The whole Earth could be affected. So this is what happened one time as they were taking out so much stuff from the Earth that the whole Earth got screwed up and it fell out of orbit. So then Varah day, because he's picking the earth up from a dirty place, the bottom, the mucky part of the bottom of the universe. He took this gigantic form as a borrower. But first when Brahma was praying how to save the Earth, he achooned his sneeze and out from his nose came this like little, like insect, little speck. And they looked and it was moving around like an insect. But it wasn't an insect. It was a microscopic bore. And he's looking, you know, before their eyes, it's just a little bigger and it's as big as like a cockroach, not as big as a mouse.
Cat.
And then it gets Biggest dog and it's running and flying in the air. And it gets big as a tiger and biggest elephant. Pretty soon it's as big as a house. And then it gets so big it just gets bigger and bigger and bigger. So it can be big enough to pick up the whole planet. But it starts off like a slovetza. What an amazing. I don't know our one day get into the special effects. If not it would be nice if drawing Stephen Spielberg would draw to drawings. So many good Russian artists. DBT can't really give them enough service. There should be some patron who just has to paint, you know, amazing paintings about all these pastimes. Because to caption that, caption that pizza. But here, but here. Cinema, cinema, cinema. Because it's just like, you know, he starts off and then he starts out small. And he gradually gets bigger and bigger and bigger. You can do that with special effects nowadays. Computer generated, I guess. He made this something I saw there was an advertisement. Incredible. Like so small. Somebody who shrank me. Mommy or something who shrank me, who shrinked the kids. So here's the opposite. The Lord starts through microscopic. And he grew up until he was. What do you call the opposite macro consonant. Anyway, so this Vasudev, he was just enamored by the whole pastime of Rahadev and how Rahadev was so compassionate. He picked up the earth and put him back in orbit. And while he was there his demon attacked himself and he wiped out. Somehow he just got. He was just completely Braha consciously that was like he was really into Braha day. So he'd worship Braha, think of Braha all the time. And so Bharaha Dev one day appeared to him and this Vasudev lived in Navadip Dao. And so Brahavi revealed that when he was putting down to earth and was when he was fighting with the demon his foot touched the earth at a particular point. And that point is in Nahud, in the island of Koladvip. Kola is another name of Braha. That's why it has the name Koladi. There's 12 mantra deep KoladVit Jadradeep Deep Rudra Deep Anthradeep. Remember. So this is Koala Deep. So that's Rena Brahadev. So there's a Vasudeva temple, there's another Vasudev, there's another Devananda who was committed apparatus. Somehow at that place one is forgiven for apparat too much. So that is it. So devotees when they go there they pray to the Lord to give forgiveness for all repentances to Vaishnavas. When we commit offenses to Vaishnavas, then we lose the taste covers the taste. For us to chain a Hare Krishna, it's very difficult. So you need to be very careful not to offend the Vaishnavas. So I think that the different devotees say you find in scripture that there are attachments of different forms of the Lord. But primarily all lords attended devotees are simultaneously attached to Raha and Ka and to Lord Chikara. Once I was talking with one handpan the Avan Sampradaya and Gaudiya Sampradaya. They're the people in Jagannath Puri who.
Chant.
Sri Krishna Chaitanya Krishni.
Krishnam Harik.
And as you go to the Gorgovira temple. And that's what that chanted. I don't have it right, but it's only right something like that. So respect it sounds mixed. So then the Prabhupada said they're taking mantras and they're chopping them apart. They're putting them, splicing them together. So this is why he called it Kannadam broken mates. Why they cut off two. Then you have Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna Krishna, Hari Hari, Hare Ram, Hari Ram, Ram Haram Hari Hari.
They chop it up.
And Sade they don't give the whole bunch. And then sir, they go into.
They throw in for good Mojit.
So I talked to this pandit. I said, why is it that you break the beans up? The Prabhupada said, why don't you chant a whole Panchata, a whole Hare Krishna? So these people are very scholarly. They're very expert at avoiding the whole issue. So rather than answer my question, he asked me another question. This is a debate factor. You ask one thing, they ask you another question. He says that a devotee of Vajitamya, what is he supposed to do? Well, he also offered his teachings as Vajatari and there's Radha and Ka Vajatami as Radha and Krishna combined. So who does he worship first? And how is it possible? How is it that in the spiritual world what happens? Will he worship Radhakrishna or morning time.
