2002 || Kīrtana, Bhāgavatam, Seminar and Initiations || Germany #JayapatakaSwamiArchives

A multi‑speaker kīrtana and seminar (recorded in Germany, 2002) centered on Srimad Bhāgavatam, the mercy of Narada and Lord Caitanya, and the practical mission of distributing transcendental literature. Speakers stress the eternal, liberating power of the Bhāgavatam and the Holy Name, recount anecdotes demonstrating the personal effects of holding/reading scriptures, exhort devotees to energetically continue book distribution and sankīrtana, and provide brief initiation remarks (naming, regulative vows, rounds). The tone alternates between devotional exegesis, motivational instruction for preachers/distributors, and pastoral guidance on chanting without offenses.
Ram. Ram. It's. Ram. It's. It's.
Thus the attractive living entities are more and more entangled in material bondage without hope of liberation for thousands and thousands of generations. Sri Narda Rishi, being the best amongst the Vaiavas, is compassionate towards such unfortunate.
Victims of worthless literatures.
And thus he advises Sri Vyasteva to compose transcendental literature which is not only attractive but can also actually bring liberation from all kinds of bondage. Sheila Vyas Dev or his representatives are qualified because they are rightly trained to see things in true perspective. Sheila Vyas, Dave and his representatives are pure in thought due to their spiritual enlightenment, fixed in their vows due to their devotional service, and determined to deliver the fallen souls rotting in the material activities. The fallen souls are very eager to receive novel information every day, and the Transcendentalists like Vasier Bernarda can supply such eager people in general with unlimited news from the spiritual world. In the Bhagavad Gita it is said that the material world is only a part of the whole creation and that this earth is only a fragment of the whole material world. There are thousands and thousands of literary men all over the world and they have created many, many thousands of literary works for the information of the people in general for thousands and thousands of years. Unfortunately, none of them have brought peace and tranquil tranquility on the earth. This is due to the spiritual vacuum in these literatures. Therefore, the Vedic literatures, especially Bhagavad Gita and Rmad Bhagavatam, are specifically recommended to suffering humanity to bring about the desired effect of liberation from the pangs of material civilization which is eating the vital part of human energy. The Bhagavad Gita is spoken message of the Lord Himself recorded by Vyas Dev and the Rma Bhagavatam is the transcendental narration of the activities of the same Lord Ka, which alone can satisfy the hankering desires of the living being for eternal peace and liberation from misery. Rgavatam therefore, therefore is meant for all the living beings all over the universe for total liberation from all kinds of material bondage. Such transcendental narrations of the pastimes of the Lord can be described only by liberated souls like Fast Age and his bona fide representatives, who are completely merged in the transcendental loving service of the Lord. Only to such devotees do the pastimes of the Lord and their transcendental nature become automatically manifest by dint of devotional service. No one else can either know or describe the acts of the Lord even if they speculate on the subject matter for many, many years, the description of the Bhagavatam are so precise and accurate that whatever has been predicted in this great literature, literature about 5,000 years ago is now exactly happening. Therefore the vision of the author comprehends past, present and future. Such liberated persons as Vas Dave are perfect not only by the power of vision and wisdom, but also in oral reception, in thinking, feeling and all other senses activities. A liberated person possesses perfect senses and with perfect senses only can one serve.
The sense proprietor Rishikesh Sri Krishna.
The personality of Godhead Rgavatam therefore is the perfect description of this all perfect personality of Gadhya by the all perfect personality. Should you be asked, Dave the compiler.
How much time will it skip.
The.
Krishna Prana Prayama Samaye Kapavata.
So I know all of you want to hear something worthwhile. So we'll pray that Krishna will speak through me. As I was reading this, I was thinking of those songs they were singing last night. They more or less covered most of this. The books of freedom and will and the fight. Of course there are so many books, Prabhupada is saying. And we see there's so many bookstores everywhere you go, every airport, every corner. And nowadays with the technology for producing printing, there's more and more books and more and more magazines for every type of. Basically.
They divide it up into different.
Varieties, varieties of sense gratification. But basically it's all the same thing, simply combination of the male and the female. The Bhavikam explains all these things very nicely. People are mad after sense gratification and because they're suffering and they think that since gratification, sometimes sense gratification gives some immediate relief to the suffering. But they don't know that the body which is the source of all the suffering is created by previous sense gratification and more sense gratification is simply creating more bodies. So devotees take compassion. They want to help people. That's their mission of Lord Chaitanya. We want to give them something real. So the literature of Srimad Bhagavatam is actually unlimited. I was walking around yesterday looking at all those paintings and see how much is there, how many different pastimes and trying to remember them. It can start to remember how deep they are. I can't remember the very good even though we heard them. And every time we hear Srimad Bhagavatam, Sri Bhagavad Gita, it's Nitya Navana Yobanam cha. It's ever fresh. Chanting the holy name. People ask us sometimes even Indians, why you go just chant Hare Krishna. Why don't you have some other song? And we see, like the longer we chant, the more nectarine it it becomes. The kirtan sometimes starts off a little slow or everybody's tired. But if we keep it going, then everybody gets full of energy and we don't want to stop. That is the nature of the spiritual world. So here, Narda, it's interesting. We have this Brihad Bhagavad kamrit that just came out. Narada is always glorified as the greatest of the might. But in that book he saw one Brahmana who, you know, was doing such nice puja. He just became overwhelmed. Oh, what a great devotee he is. Always getting so much mercy, went to glorify him. And then on and on, everyone he went to in his search to find the best devotee or the devotee who was getting the most mercy of Krishna, he went to this Brahmin, he went to the king, he went to Lord Brahma, he went to Shiva, Prahlad, Lakshmi. And everyone was just saying, no, I'm not really a very good devotee and Krishna doesn't really favor me at all. Lord Brahma was saying Krishna is angry at him because he, ranikasiku told him he shouldn't do that. But he said, I do anyway. You give mercy to demons because that's his nature. He's the father of every everyone. And when someone does, sometimes people want. We wonder why the demons become powerful because they do tapasya. They're very determined. So we see that like the demigods and the demons, sometimes the demigods, they become very comfortable with their heavenly life and they become neglectful of their guru or neglectful of, you know, humility. And then the demons who are very determined to conquer, they do great tapasya and they strictly follow their guru and they perform great austerities and vows and they may become very, very powerful and they're able to defeat the demigods. But when the demigods, their good quality is when they become desperate, then they surrender to Krishna. They take shot supreme Lord and then he always helps them. They're the suras, they're the favorable. So throughout the Bhagavatam, we find, you know, we can pick out various verses that stress this. First, this particular chapter. Narada Muni, speaking of vyas, Deva, of course, is essential because it's.
What got.
The Bhagavatam in Writing as we have it now. Actually Sriman Bhagavatam exists eternally. It's the pastimes of the Lord. It's been spoken by Anantashesha. It's been around. But as we have it on earth we have these 17,000, 17,800 slokers. A lot of Slokas. And every one of them is complete. And Prabhupada is always stressing on this need to devote his Katikshava Karunaka. Someone who is tolerant and he's merciful. He wants to. He sees that people are suffering. And like Lord Shiva, when he drank the ocean of poison, he was merciful. He saw that this poison was spreading and he took it on himself to drink it all. And then it stated that the great souls, they always accept suffering for the sake of others. But this Tapasya that may appear to be suffering, the devotees find that it's actually pleasure. Krishna says that my Tapasya and myself are not different. And then Lord Caitanya, he very kindly gave the living. He was like the living Bhagavat, pure devotee. And he came as a devotee. He's a hidden avatar. He didn't exhibit himself publicly as the supreme personality of God. He acted like a devotee. And he showed us the ecstasy of chanting the holy name of the Lord. Lord hearing Srimad Bhagavatam. He would spend hours every day reading Srimad Bhagavatam Gadhar. And he would spend more hours chanting Kirtan, chanting Japan. Whatever he was doing, it was always chanting. He was always crying, calling out for Krishna. Dancing would always inspire everyone. We heard yesterday he was going around. So the devotees. Our movement is a continuation of Lord Caitanya's pastimes. Like this festival. It's very nice because like yesterday we're hearing the glories of so many devotees. And that's like a very essential activity. Devotional service. Some verse I was reading the other.
Day.
From Caitanya Bhagavat where Lord Chaitanya was glorifying the devotees.
And.
He says, everyone listen.
Talking about Merari Gupta, he said, anyone.
Who criticizes will not be purified by millions of baths in the Ganga. Neither the Ganga nor the holy name.
Will remove his sin.
Then it says, the Lord knows how to glorify his devotees. What will he not say and what.
Will he not do for the sake of his devotees?
For his devotees sake, the Lord will swallow a blazing fire. Like Krishna swallowed the forest fire twice.
And Krishna saved his devotees.
The Lord yearns to become a servant of his devotees. Lord Krishna does not know anything except his devotees.
He does not think even of the.
Endless universes are equal to one of his devotees.
Anyone who is not pleased with the devotee of Lord Krishna. Kill a wretched sinner and his past must be full of sins. That's from the majulila of Caitanya Bhagavad. So at festivals like this, where we all get together and glorify devotees and we chant the holy name, it's a great fortune for everyone. It's not only for us, fortunately, because the power of this chanting, this vibration, spreads much beyond the range of simply being able to hear with the ear, because it's affecting the whole ether. It's purifying our minds, making us more and more attached to the holy name of the Lord, so that we can carry on, stick to the mission here. Everybody's a book distributor and so many things have been said. Srila Prabhupada said so many, many things about book distribution. Of course, he said so many things about everything. But books are the basis and preaching is the essence. So that means reading the books and distributing the books. We don't want to simply distribute them and never read them. We heard many fashionable prophet said that one time in LA Angeles, that was in 1971 or something, Prabhupada would go out every day for his walk and he'd take a car first and all the devotees would be waiting. And one Mataji was distributing so many books, she said, prabhupada, we're distributing hundreds of Isha punishad. And he just looked at it, he said, why don't you read my books? So then of course everybody thought we better read the book. But we don't want to simply read the books either. Sometimes devotees think, well, we can't preach and we can't distribute until we learn everything. But it goes together. Anyone can go out and say what they feel, how much they like this book. You don't have to know everything about them. But Prabhupada said we should know so that people want to know. They want to ask us what's in the book. We can tell them, but we know this is something wonderful. Nobody can really describe Kirtan. We see how the holy name, the sound of the Holy name just simply bewilders everyone, makes us completely forget the bodily concept of life, makes us forget our fatigue or whatever we're supposed to be doing later in the day or anything. And that's the whole idea that Krishna is there. We're actually Krishna is everything, Khaimayam. The past, present, future. We want to be with Krishna by chanting Krishna there. We have a personal relationship and the more we come together and chat, better we can take. Then we can get strength to carry on this mission. People need the books and they need to chant because they in the unpurified, contaminated condition people are in there very hard to understand. But so many people, like I was in Finland and one morning the lady, she said, I have that book. I read it all the time. It's up on the metro or whatever train they take. She said, I have that Krishna book also. That one's hard. But this other one, I don't know what is science and self realization or whatever they call it Yoga. She said, I like this one. I'm reading every day. So there's so many people like that. But they need to meet devotees, they need to hear the holy way, they need to get brought in. But there's no limit to how many books we can distribute. And we don't know what result. Prabhupada even said, I don't know what result will come, but I'm following blindly the order of my spiritual master. Just distribute books. We saw a few things Prabhupada said yesterday, but so many little things he said. There was that one famous quote, distribute books. Distribute books. Distribute books. That was in Los Angeles. And when he said that, the whole temple room was like he was pointing at one particular person that was collecting a lot of money but not distributing books. Prabhupada started talking about the books and how important it was. And so he stopped for a few seconds and then distributed.
Distribute books.
Distribute books. Distribute books. And he stopped again and that was, you know, immediately the tape was going all over the place. In those days we didn't have such technology. So I don't want to take everybody's time. Lord Caitanya especially likes to glorify devotees. And he liked to hear, he liked to serve the devotees. Jam Ranch is here. He's also very well known for serving the devotees. If you go to Mayapur, everybody becomes very pleased because that's our culture, serving the devotees. Lord Chaitanya stated that Vaishnava Seva Nama sank your tongue that just by these two things, Vaishnav Seva and Namaskar, then very quickly, Sri Krishna Charan, very quickly you get the lotus feet of Krishna. So like was you're the in charge of the seva here. Somebody got up the other day and was saying they had the good fortune so we have a chance. Of course, everybody can serve devotees anytime. And then to get the mercy of Lord Shiv that way. How can you serve Krishna and serve the devotees? And there's so many ways to serve devotees. If we simply chant like the cooks are cooking, so many devotees are working so everyone can get energy for kirtan. Anyway, I'm very glad I could come here. Krishna arranged. Maybe you can give me your blessings. Because we go in many places, not so many devotees. There are not such good material conditions. But the whole world, everybody wants Krishna. Everyone's hankering for ka and everyone wants books. And everyone wants something. But like Prabhupada said, they're being cheated. There's so many books, and now there's just like so many more books, like in Japan. And now every book that comes out in English the next day, we find it in every magazine, every book they translate, it's like so bewildering. And every movie and every nonsense thing. So devotees, we cannot sit back, you know, we have to carry on even a Coca Cola. I heard that Coca Cola, you know, is the most famous brand name in the world. Most highly reckoned. So at one point some time ago, they thought, we don't have to advertise anymore because everybody knows Coca Cola, right? The whole world, everybody knows Coca Cola, Mickey Mouse, you know, they know those things. So they stopped advertising because they spend so much money and immediately their sales went down, like. And sometimes devotees, we think like that, well, everybody knows we don't have to preach anymore. We don't have to go on Haryan anymore. Everybody knows us. But actually practically nobody knows us. I have so much experience even in Los Angeles or New York City, places where devotees have been thinking they're prominent for so many years. But you meet people that right nearby, half a mile from the temple, they say, what religion are you? What are you doing? Some people interested. I went to one shop in New York City. That's all the Jewish people running. So the guy asked me, why does your religion put this on your face? He was nice. I said, well, this means the body to temple, and God lives in the body. He said, well, Jewish, we don't believe that. We believe God is everywhere. I said, yeah, he's everywhere, but then he's in your body also. And then he said, well, I can't talk anymore because we have a contract. We can't talk about religion on the job here. But at least he'd seen so many devotees. He's wondering about it, you know, so he's Thinking of Tilak and he's giving that we have to get out and let people see us and let them hear the Holy Name in any way we can do it and keep giving gifts. Then Lord Shaytan came to me and.
Said.
It'S spread everywhere. It is spreading everywhere, but not enough. We should never be satisfied. But you know, we've read the book enough or chanted enough, or distributed enough. Nothing can be enough because if we've done it enough, we want to do more. The more someone chants and Prabhupada says we want to chant more, the more we read Bhagavad Gita. We should want to read Bhagavad Gita more as a test. And please give me some blessing and I'll be able to preach.
I was very impressed last night.
This.
Presentation humor was very good. And also the songs were deep thinking. If you read this purport again, you'll see that both those songs are tragically right there. Different language, but the idea of. And that's what Prabhupada wanted, that we present things. We can put it in the language and presentation that people can accept.
First thing that strikes me is how merciful Narayana is. He's thinking about the welfare of all the conditioned souls and how they can be freed from material bondage. Therefore he is instructing his disciple, his transcendental disciple, the Aztec, to write a transcendental literature which will liberate them. Literature which will broadcast the glories of the Lord's past times. This is for the people in general. That's also something remarkable because usually liberation has always been.
For.
Very select people. Just like Vedic mantras, only the Brahmanas could chant. And we hear that the name of God in the Jewish religion, only the rabbis can chant.
Christianity.
No one even knows what the name.
Of God, Son of God. So.
Lord Chaitanya was so merciful that he made Ka consciousness available for everyone. He also did that because Narad Muni was very concerned about it. How people are going to get.
Krishna.
Consciousness when Krishna lives.
Krishna.
Krishna said, I'm going to come again and I'm going to.
Come as a.
Devotee and distribute the mercy. We also know that the Bhagavatam rises in the east just like the rising sun. And the darkness of ignorance, darkness of Kali is driven away. Bhakti Siddhartha, Sara Siddi Thakur.
He.
Sent out his devotees to distribute a daily newspaper called Nadia Prakash and other literatures. Some people ask, how is it possible you're having a daily newspaper? Spiritual Spiritual matters think it run out of news. So the devotee came back and asked to the Bhakti, Siddhartha, Sarasoti, Takura, just like Maharaj said, he brought the point that, well, the spiritual world is tripadvibuti. It's the 3/4 reality. And the material world is only 1/4 reality. Therefore, this means more UNL. More information available in this spiritual world. So don't worry, we have plenty of information they should read every day. The point Maharaj brought up that people like to hear something new and interesting. Whole thing, actually, because ka is unlimited. Even you read the same subject matter, there's always something new that you realize from it. There's always some new insights, some new revelations, something new and sparkling and illuminating. And why does it say that all these literary works achieve. I mean, as human beings we have limited time, but if we use our time wisely, then we can be free from the cycle of birth, death, old age and disease. We can develop our God consciousness, and we can even achieve love for guidance. So the means for doing that in Kali Yuga is through books. We need to regularly Bhagavata nitya sevaya. We need to hear the Bhagavad. So that verse Bhagavad nitya seva includes both the book Bhagavad and person Bhagavad. We need to serve both. But instead, it's like little babies.
They want.
They want some milk from the mother. The mother may be busy or something. Sometimes give a little plastic rubber thing, the pacifier, what you call it German or whatever language, but they put in the mouth and then the baby is, you know, sucking. And we're hoping to get some milk, but nothing happening but keeps them busy for a while. So like that somehow they're given literature and they're trying to suck to get something out of it. But instead what they're getting is sense gratification. They're not getting real transcendental nectar. It's good for the book sales in the sense that they have to keep making new books, because if you read one, you're already tired. Who reads the book twice? I mean, very few people. You want to go on to the next book and find out something again new, perhaps another literature. You have the book, you can go on reading it again and again, and you always find out something new. Apart from that, there's so many different kinds of literature that follow in the bhagava. So people are being cheated from the opportunity to get a literature that's going to Liberate them. Instead they're just given some more chewing the truth. Material information presented with some nice literary and melody punishments, analogies, similes, metaphors, poetry, interesting plot lines. But it simply agitates the material mind for a little bit but ultimately doesn't give them the real liberation. Lord Shiva is telling Parvati how wonderful the Bhagavad he did. And he describes every chapter. The words in the Padma Puran, remember the. He described the 15th chapter glories he requested. Please tell me the glories of the 15th chapter. Purushottam yoga, the yoga of the supreme personality of Gandhi. And he explains that once there was a king called Narasimha Maharaj. And he was trying to consolidate the entire world in one world government. And he was being quite successful at it. The idea of one world government, he wasn't doing it, just he actually had intention in the name of God to do it and to follow the Vedic system, to consolidate everyone and for everyone following the Vedic system. He was quite fair person, performed regularly, his sacrifices studied, heard from the Brahmanas and so many good qualities. He had one general who was an expert military man. So he engaged him in conquering over the few states that were still independent. So there'd be no more rogue states everywhere under one system and the whole world could be peaceful. So finally they were successful. They had achieved their goal. He was the emperor of the entire world. But he dedicated everything in the service on the Lord. And he tried to carry out his duties according to Lord Ashram. He rewarded his general, forget the general's name with.
Mobile titles, Lord Duke and all that.
Gave him a big palace. He became like a sub royalty type person. But the general, he thought that I did all the fighting. I mean I was the one on the field there. He was there also. But I was really, I was the strategist who won the battles for the king. Why should I have been made the king?
I shall be the king.
Then he got his little team together, some of his secret army people and made a plan. This particular day we're going to go, we'll sneak in, the king will trust us like anything will go in there and we'll assassinate him.
I will be crowned as the emperor of the world.
This was his plot. The day before they were going to attack the unsuspecting emperor. That general died of some disease. Timeout.
For the book distribution minister Vijay Prabhu.
Vijay Prabhu will make most probably he talk a little on his experience.
Is he here at all? He is here. Good yes. Let us please give.
Yes. Okay.
So let us now see the video and then greet our Vijay Prabhu Har Krishna, right?
Created souls. Because they're all transmitting the message of Ka which is a transcendental activity. I don't remember the Bengali right now, but I can find it for you. It's in either Naratm Bilas or Bhakti Ratnakara, one of those two books. There's a verse there where he wrote this that both the activities of writing and distributing books are totally transcendental. And they come out of a self realized desire to serve Ka. So we just briefly talked about the obstacles and we see how Shrinivasacharya to face so many obstacles to distribute the books. But there was this ultimate Vishnu had a higher purpose. Sometimes as heard also Vijayapur bring up. Sometimes the worst days are actually the most purifying. Forcing us to bring our consciousness to a higher level. I know how Prabhupada, once he came to Prabhupada, we wanted Sri Prabhupada. At that time we didn't have any Indian devotees. And in Mayapur we were dependent on the foreign devotees. We were down to like 10 devotees. We had this big project and we asked Prabhupada, we need men what to do. We asked all the presidents. Then he told, well, you can take 10 devotees without permission of the president. You can take anybody you want, except please don't take any of my big book distributors. So we could tell from that the holy Dhams are very important to Srila Prabhupada. But his book distribution, that was super important. And he wanted that to go on at all costs. So he didn't want us to disturb him that otherwise he was concerned that the Dham should develop. So we could understand in so many different ways how much the Prophet appreciated the devotees for making that sacrifice. I personally seen when devotees would bring, like today we saw the Hungarian Chetanyatmita presented when Prabhupada would get a new book and he would page through it, he'd look at it literally. He would cry, tears would come in his eyes. Sometimes I personally was there. I personally saw. But try on different occasions. When either he would see the books, the new books presented to him. And so he would be so elated that this is so.
Because why?
Because he know how pleased his spiritual master would be. And he's doing everything to please Surabakti, Siddharth, Tisaya, Suti Thakur. This was his ecstasy. So I know all of you who are distributing books. So the Prabhupada is very learning, grateful and appreciative of your service. You're definitely all considered very confidential followers of Srila Prabhupada for your dedication in doing this service. And we can see even Maritam Das Taku in our previous Acharya, they also appreciated that this effort of giving the message to Ka is a very important thing. So you should understand you are an ambassador of Lord Chaitanya, ambassador of Srila Prabhupada. So you have to behave very properly with people so that that way they have a lasting good impression. So that impression will carry them through. So they want to meet more devotees, they want to meet you again. And they want to have a lifelong relationship with the Ka conscious movement. If even one verse from the Bhagavad Gita can liberate someone, then. So we heard that prophets say also, even after even one word, I heard Shula Prabhupada would say, people just pick up the book holding the book. I read once a Bhagavatam Mahatmya where it said, wherever the Bhagavatam is situated, the devas come every day and pay their obeisances. Because the Bhagavatam is a literary incarnation of Ka. So when people hold the Bhagavatam and they're holding it in their hand.
What.
Is this book they're actually holding?
Ka.
They can't hold the deity, but they can hold the book. And that is having such an effect on them that even they don't know, even just by holding the book, they're getting free from fairness what to speak and say. I know one man, he was a member of Parliament from Indonesia. They have a few members of Parliament, Hindus. But he had a problem. He had a psychosomatic problem that he became very nervous. And so much so that he'd almost have like heart problems. And somehow he got back to Godhead. And he found that when he held back to Godhead by his chest, immediately all of his psychosomatic problems and his heart palpitations went away. So he would wear when he went to Parliament, he said the vibration of the other politicians was so heavy for him, it would put him into this kind of emotional, you know, nervous state. Inside his jacket. He would keep Back to Godhead and sometimes some other scriptures and keep them in there like bulletproof vest. He had this vibration proven and he revealed it. One time he came and he showed, you know, look, you know, and he pulled out. Wherever he went, he would care. So that kept him his mind peaceful. Otherwise no, it didn't require sedatives or anything else. He just kept shah.
So.
These scriptures are are actually the presence of Ka and we can't underestimate the revolutions that were causing in people's spiritual life. I've heard so many different Sankirtan pastimes. People's lives have been changed just by getting one of Srila Prabhupada's books. So to be on that kind of front line and be able to take that opportunity to give the message of Ka the people, it's really an inconceivable mercy. Every time I think back on the time, I could do a lot of frontline book distribution. My hair stand on end sometimes just to remember and to see how Prabhupada was so pleased. So I still need a lot of help. I know all of you who have distributing books. You're also helping me. I guess that's why I come here to Sankirtam. I heard there's a Sankirtam mela. Because I think if I can contribute to the enthusiasm of the Sankirta and devotees then that way I'll be helping at least partially to pay the debt I owe Srila Prabhupada. He gave me this assignment to see so many books get distributed. So I hope Allah we will be able to distribute more and more of the books in a higher quality and that we can be able to develop a system for cultivating all the people getting books so that they'll in the future become book distributors and puritan bodies as well. So one day they're going to open the deities and that they put me where I should strategically at this time. Because you know that I have a tendency to over go over. So that way when Didi is open and there's automatically the plug is pulled up just to show them that I can speak within a time limit. I'm going to open up for any questions that people have.
Now.
There'S no questions and I'll think of something else to say. Any questions?
Yes.
It'S about you were saying that we need to develop or we are able to develop our national feelings to Ka and then we can also project them to the other living beings as well.
I mean devotional service is filled with Bhakti, Yoga, Bhakti Vedanta. Vedanta is knowledge and Bhakti is spiritual emotions, Ecstasy, love. So we have the real claim to spiritual emotion in the material world. It's just a virtual emotion. It's emotions based on our false identification with the Body. We're attached to something and we get out. You cry because you lost your toy. Like little children, they cry over so many things. Is that true? Deep emotion. But for them it's real. They lost their toy. Somebody stepped on their little plastic thing and they're crying like anything. So almost what people are experiencing in emotions, it's not fully developed because they've not fully realized who they are. As a devotee, we're able to express our emotions as we more than we realize ourselves as Krishna's eternal servant in a much higher level of actually representing Krishna, serving Krishna and helping people. That's how I would see it. But maybe they have like.
Sam Sa.
Ram Ram Ram Nam Sam. It's Sa Sa.

To give just a very brief talk.
On the necessity or on the importance of the Holy Name. Because this is a Holy Name initiation and that should be so. Please pay very, very much attention because what Maharaj will tell you is important for this Nam Yakya as well.
Sam.
In the seventh Canto Srimad Bhagavatam, fifth.
Chapter.
22Nd, 23rd verse, Prabhupada explained about the mind practices of the devotional service and of course verses Shravanakirtana. And there he said the importance of chanting the Holy Name without offenses to avoid the 10 offenses to the Holy Name. Because there's no atonement for an offense to the Holy Name. They said that only the constant chanting of the Holy Name Name can get us forgiven from any offense to the Holy Name. So we have to continuously chant Kirtaniya Sadha Hadith. He did mention though that if we chant the verses given by Rupa Goswami in the Krishnaam Ashtaka in Glories of the Holy Name, if we sing the glories of the Holy Name, that helps us to get rid of offenses. And actually I wish I would have printed out those verses.
But.
I can give some of the ideas of what RPA Goswami was saying. First, he says that all the Vedas are glorifying the Holy Name of Ka because especially the personified Upanishads are saying how the Brahma Jyoti is emanating from the lotus feet of the Holy Name of Ka. Ka Nama is a person is Ka in sound, just as if we worship a deity which is a visible form of Ka and we commit an offense, we can get forgiven for that offense if we chant Govinda, Govinda, Govinda, Govinda, Govinda. So in other words, the Holy name of the Lord is more merciful even than the deeds. Then he also mentioned how even by accidentally chanting the Holy Name that someone is getting spiritual deliverance and spiritual knowledge by accidental or inattentively chanting the Holy Name. If we chant the Holy Name offensively, then of course we get the full mercy of the Holy Name. There are many different names of Ka and we should meditate on those names constantly. And this invokes the presence of Ka.
That Ka.
A deity, as I mentioned, is the visible form and Ka as the Holy Name is the audible form. So when we address about holy name is actually the Harinam Prabhu. So we pray, my dear Holy Name, please forgive me for my offenses. He is a person, he is Ka. Sometimes accidentally, because we're used to thinking names and things are its. But actually holy Name is the he because it is Ka. He is Krishna. I got caught by Saudi. He is Krishna. My holy name is Krishna. And we say he non Prabhu. So my dear Holy Name, please for God, for any offenses knowingly, unknowingly committed at your holy Florida's feet. You can all make that type of prayer. So like this, there are some really beautiful prayers by Rupa Goswami where he's glorifying the Holy Name and begging for the mercy of the Holy Name. So we can take shelter while you're in Sankirtown, while you're doing your service and every circumstance, you can immediately have the presence of the Holy Name. We will serve a deity also. That's another system that we do to come back, report to the deity. But while we're in the field, the Holy Name is with us all the time. We can always take shelter of the Holy Name. And we need to learn how to take shelter of the Holy Name. Srila Prabhupada said that the greatest offering you can make to Krishna is offering a person. When a person atma does Atma Samarpanam, he does self surrender. That's the greatest offering. So in this Nam Agya we've offered grains and Mashinga mantras and so many things. So also two devotees are offering themselves. I think that's very auspicious to and they're. Both of them are Sankirtan devotees. For five years he doing. Thank you. See all the devotees. Okay, Give him a blessing.
Thank you very much.
