We would also like to give a warm welcome to Kishimos Prana. So there were two main times when I had an association of Srila Prabhupada. One was in Montreal in 1968 and the other when I was new devoidy initiated briefly in Los Angeles before going to India and then in India. So which would you like to have? What's the North American sign or the Indian sign? I don't think it's time for more. Huh? Who wants to hear North American side? Well, see if I finish it. Do I want to start North America or just start India? The ones India, the ones North American. I can just say that when I went first to my I heard about Srila Prabhupada Chai Nanda Prabhu and so many different devotees. So I had decided to go to Sicha Prabhupada in Montreal. So I purchased an air ticket which was rare in those days and then went to Montreal. There I asked to the Prabhupada whether I should see him, whether I should go to India, that he told me that he looked at me and said well, you can go later but for now I'll train you personally here in North America. So Srila Prabhupada did send me later to India in 1970. That was 68 when I first two years later he sent me to join with. And at that time Prophet didn't want me to stay in the Ga month. So only when he got a confirmation from the Chukananda that I shouldn't stay in the Goya mat did he send me. But it was a false confirmation and actually I ended up staying in the Gaudiyamat for a few months when Srila Prabhupada went to Japan to negotiate with Bangkok and the Krishna I believe at that time also it was just about that time when the four Savyasis and Uberndaban started to preach that Prabhupada was Krishna. And then Prabhupada left from Los Angeles to Japan. So well, I had gone earlier and I went before Raghav, before the Rath Yatra in Puri. It was sometime in the middle of the month of May or June when I was in London and I tried to get a message to Prabhupada the right state of the Rathyatra. I said I didn't get any message and I just why not? So we were waiting for PR to come and then when finally he was arriving we made a special VIP reception for Shil pr. We arranged a VIP lounge. We Have a. A lounge for heads of states, heads of government and very big political leaders who arrived in the airport of Calcutta. So he arranged that that room, that section of the airport would be reserved for Shira as visiting, returning after having conquered all over the Western world and established over 40 temples by that time. So there was. There were newspapers and there were many truckloads of Goyamad devotees that all came to ancient. We had been inviting different God brothers, the Shirk God to come out and respect, seen them at the airport. But I personally was present when I was very new. So I didn't know anybody very well. But when we were staying at the temple of Madhur Maharaj Rishiji attending Gaudiya Mad at that time, I mean, I met Maharaj, I met the different sadhus there. Bhakti Promote Puri Maharaj was living in that temple at the time and he was very kind to us and he would give us some of his mercy and guidance. One time he had a stomach ache and so he asked me to get him some yogurt. And I was surprised because I thought only we foreigners had a stomach ache in India. So I went out and got some yogurt. And so I remember that Chu Tananda invited him that he should come and receive crowdfunds at the airport. And then he said, sure, of course, why not? But as soon as he said that there was one Gaudi about the Hasta devotee, a kind of a pantyhead in the ashram who was serving there. He came up and said, how can you go to receive him? You took sannyas before he did by at least two years. Something like, you know, I was like shocked. What's going on here? I mean, I knew they were really into this because when you took the. You had to sit in accordance to when you were initiated. One time I sat one person over when I was supposed to pick me up, put me over. You were What? You were December 68, he was January 69. So you have to sit in between. And he was 67. You had to sit in exactly in row. Every time you took Prashad, there was the rule and Swami is going to take with the Brahmacharis. They had stayed upstairs. You heard about it. I never could see that that was the Brahmachari. But I didn't think, you know, this was such a rare occasion. Their Godbrother had just come back, was coming back from preaching all over the world. It was such a big thing. And so because of the Hemi heading out by this Vihasta then Bakshi Shalom 24 hours he didn't go. So we received Srila Prabhupada in the airport and then Brahma Chutananda he chanted Sri Guru. He chanted ohe vaishnava tagura toyara Sadhura and then ended that. But somehow Prabhupada he didn't seem happy. It was. It was like he was like. And he had arranged one big car for him one of our life. One of the friends at the temple had provided an old American car. I think it was like a Cadillac, a Pontiac or something. Maybe a 1943 or one of these big monster trains. I don't remember what car it was but because I'm not so much expert on cars. But it was a big white American car. I remember what brand was and like a vintage, not that old, but volunteer somewhere. Just then Subraba he asked where one of the younger Sannyasis from the Gaudiyad invited Srila Prabhupada that he should come to the Gauriamad for taking a feast in his army. And then I was busy something. So the car was like taking off signs are. Rabbi just jumped in quick before I got left behind. And then Sh. Prabhupada said that you have a place for us to stay. And we said yes, we have our own place. He said I want to go to that place. And then you can go later and get the prasadam from the Gaudim. I tell him I'm feeling sick, a little tired and bring the prasadam over and we'll take prasadam where we're staying. So I'm really new to all these things. I don't really want to. There's a whole kind of political maneuvering here going on. Later on the crawler gave us a drive shot and he said that actually this was a trap. They didn't come to meet me at the airport, they come and meet me at the airport. I would have gone to their temple. When they did come and meet at the airport. They think that they're trying to present to everybody that they're much superior than I am and they want me to go to their temple. Then they're going to tell everybody that they sent me to the west and therefore I went back straight to their temple to report to them like a junior reporting to his boss about my. And he would take all the credit in India. And whatever I did, he did it, although he never gave me any help at all. This is really over my head. I said, wow, therefore I'm not going to their temple. I didn't go to the temple. I knew fragment facade here. And they really. And they never even came to sleep in all God, you know, it was like it was such a. They wanted him to go there. So it was like Prabhupada Sono had to handle the whole politic because if they really cared about him, they would come. At least in this kind you don't think about who's older or younger. If your God brother just did a big massive reaching success somewhere and go out or even your godbrother, even your name and your nephew or niece, you'd be happy to go and greet them and congratulate them for their wonderful success in preaching. And here for the first time, someone came and established 40 temples. Not even one in the west came back. And none of his godbrothers met him at the airport. Instead he said what they're trying to do is hijack his success and take all the credit for themselves. So that was my first like little bit of entrance into what is the gaudiyomat kind of politic. And with all respect, every Prabhupada respected their preaching. He didn't want them to get all the credit for what he did. And then I got help. So then in fact later there was a news article published by Madhu Maharaj in this magazine where he did claim that we sent him to the West. He came to our temple before he went to the west and we sent him to the West. And therefore actually all whatever he did is because of, you know, the blessings of his. And Prabhupada once and Maya for one of ours came to see him and he took all. Threw us all out of the room. And the two were in the room one more Sanyasi was there and they were having a heated argument. Respectful, but very heated. And we were all not allowed to party for that. That's another story. Prabhupada, he said at that time he was Adam Haraj was complaining that why he used the name Prabhupada. And Prabhupada said, well, my disciples call me this name. They're having something sad. We don't know exactly. Probably just mentioned Saddam. It looks very heavy. So while Srila Prabhupada was in Calcutta then he went walking in the. There were this lakes. You go on the morning walk in the lakes. And that first night I was. Both the Chujanata and myself were resting. We were staying at this time was a little. It was a resting home to me. It was an Empty apartment building. An empty building which was going to be turned into a nursing home, a medical center. And the doctor who had made it let us use it for free for six months. He thought, if Sadhu stay in my nursing home before I use it, it'll be a blessing for me. I'm going to bring a lot of money. Auspicious people being healthier. She's worried because of the legal rights favored the tenant in Bengal more than the landlord. So he wouldn't give us anything in writing because we could stay there for six months, but just as my guest. So you know that Prabhupada was in his room. And I went and then he called the chu to nandam. And I always found it. Wow. I had heard the problem. I just gave him nine people sannyas in Los Angeles. I thought, I'm going to give him sannyas. I had no idea what, you know, what was the procedure of getting sanyas. We've never seen it before. So I thought, no, she's Anand. He's very old, so maybe he got sanyas. Then I heard Shiva Prabhupada raising his voice to him and talking very intensely. And I thought that somebody is getting Samantha. And then next thing I knew, I was called on the carpet. And he started to ask me questions. But I didn't know anything about what he was asking me. It was totally went over my head, totally unknown. Something about letters and goyamads and different things I didn't know. Then Prabhupada turned to his secretary and said that he doesn't know anything. He's innocent. Then Srila Prabhupada called and started going in. And then he explained that this whole Maya body thing that came out in Nubrindana was because of the Chittananda. That Chukananda, one of the Godbrothers of Prabhupada, had been preaching that Srila Prabhupada wasn't really the person who was giving the mercy to them. That actually he was acting kind of as a priest on behalf of Sabhaki Siddhartha Saraswati Thakur, who was just acting on behalf. And actually everybody thinks that as a disciple of Prabhupada, they weren't actually his disciples. Because various reasons, I don't know the reasons he gave us. Because whoever he initiated, he was just doing it. Kind of like everything was just doing it on behalf of Saraswati Thakur. And therefore everyone was actually Surabhaki Siddhan, Saraswati Thakur's disciple. So Then Sha Prabhupada said of hell. And Tritananda wrote this to Ramananda saying, you know what? We're really not Shaikh Prabhupada's disciple. We're actually Bhakti Siddhamsha, Sarah's not great disciple. This is what so and so told me. So Ramana started thinking about that. The Prophet said, somehow he's telling, well, if I'm not my guru's disciple, then I find my Param Guru's disciple as he's acting on behalf of his guru. Then maybe as Bhakti Saddam is talking about, he's acting on behalf of you know what? Chaitanya, Lord Chaitanya's disciple, actually Lord Chaitanya is Krishna. That means I am Krishna's disciple. That means actually that somehow then I don't know how that would lot of people understand. But then somehow they went one step further. And because none of this makes sense anyway, then Prabhupada must be Krishna. And then they started to preach to everybody how they realized actually to Prabhupada. And then he started one speculation and kind of more on more and more. And that's how that whole thing happened. So Prabhupada was explaining this to us how it's so important that we don't deviate anything from what previous Acharyas had given us. So there we were. He decided after some days he asked us if he would like to take sanyas. We asked Chitananda first. Then the elder Kamila asked me, would you like to take Samyan? Because I was 21 years old, I didn't really know so much about it, but it was sounded really something wonderful. And so I thought, well, so problem, if you want me to, then I'll take it. So somehow it was fixed up that Radh Astini would have a standard dance initiation. And it was in that nursing home. It was just the empty building, but it was going to be the nursing home in the future. That was the nursing home that time it was in the living room. So we normally knew how to do San Diego changes. We didn't. But they told what to do. We had some of the golden one make our daughter and then Rastami. Then first he gave initiation to give the danda to a Chujananda. And he made a specific point to say that he I'm giving him first. He's senior to you. He's getting it first. But you know, three minutes. So except for that. And then afterwards. And then he gave me the Ramadan Sanyas. Name I kept the same name, Jayat Swami. So he was explaining how we have to use our thoughts, words and these and kishma service. When we were with Srila Prabhupada there in California we would go out eating. Eating was one of our main preaching Prabhupada be the guest of different very important life members who at that time life member was just to become a life member you have to, you know, invited to get us to eat at their house. They had to become a life member more or less was kind of the program. But you know, they all cooked very rich and very heavy. So we were always getting stomach aches. It was dripping and I don't know ghee oil or what it was. But it was so hard to digest the problem of the so called with them. He dealt with them so nicely. He was teaching us how to be not only a good host but how to be a good guest. I don't know if you ever learned it properly but Sh Khappa, he was always a very gracious guest. And I remember one time we were eating and then somebody pointed out Prabhupada. I think he didn't hit that anymore. But then he just like don't say anything. Just told me like don't say anything not to offend the host. We're already in the process. But the next time he told you should be very careful. So there were so many pastimes only we, we finally got a new place. We were the place where we are now facial the road. And Prabhupada told us how he was. He was a child, a youth. He used to ride his bicycle through this area. He said this was the Sayed quarter. This was where all the British people used to live. And so he would ride his bicycle through and see all these big kind of palatial buildings. And the British, you know, those times were the rulers the colony. So it's kind of an exciting thing to drive your bicycle through the British quarter. Little did he know that he was going to be the guru of the the British and the Western. He did not. So he was saying how he was very happy now he had his temple there, he had prestigious place right where he had driven. Maybe just he drove his spicy little food that's only a the blessing of the place. And remember one time it was a life member came a group of them, about three, four came and they asked Srila Prabhupada that we want you to show us all the great babas. They show some mystic power, a miracle. He show us a miracle. Really wanting to give them a watch or give me something, some kind of anti trick. And then Srila Prabhupada said, why is that you sell all those things? Showing him Rasa Gula, you know, it's a 50 paisa, 50 cent kick. How much is this? It was sweet. So no, no, we want to see some magic, some mystic power, some miracle. Prabhupada said, well, I went for 40 rupees to the west and just after five years now five, six years, I have 400 million rupees. 40 crores of it is 400 million. From 40 to 400 million. And there are temples all over the world and so many thousands of devotees. Isn't that a miracle? They start calculating, you know, 440 to 400. I guess they're trying to analyze them by their own business investment. How long will it take to multiply and to make a profit and make the return on your investment? Then you know, after putting all the things together, after a few seconds somebody said wow. Yeah, That's a miracle. 40 rupees. 400 million rupees. That's a miracle. This is my miracle. Thank you very much. Once Devananda was climbing out of the window to Gustav to get a mean twin from Paul. Prabhup said, don't do that, it frightens me. What if you fall? He said, you know, then he was arguing and all. But this branch is ninja. Anyway, I don't want you to live here. I can do it from Yana. Do it anyway. But don't let me see you do it. I couldn't see some disciple as some risk. It was too much. Then they had thick black blue curtains in his room and all kinds of mosquitoes. Somehow they were attracted to the black velvet. And Sadashura Prabhupada called him to complain that what are you doing? You're attracting the mosquitoes. So we'll spray them and kill them. Wouldn't you? The person you attract them, you murder them. You shouldn't have this. Sister, have some other thought. That doesn't look right. Then one day he grew up on a rice by the chain and we all went together. But this like My flight came 40 minutes early. This time in Orlando. But Prabhupada's train came 40 minutes early. Seems always happening. So when we got there, we went on time. We never called up, decided to get the car but back also. Wait, nobody called up. He went to see Prabhupada and he wants him. There was Prabhupada just Got a taxi. He knew his way around Calcutta. He got a taxi and went to the temple. Meanwhile we were all at the airport looking for Shobrah. But he wasn't there. We took the. We all went back rushing to the temple. There he was sitting in his room. I remember one time the Srila Prabhupada walked in the rent. All the devotees were taking prasada. And then he called me in a room and he told me because I was depressed. And he told me that this food is good for ghosts. It's not for sad boys who cooked it. Very shocking. And why is the food for the ghost and why? So then I went into the fi research who did the cooking. It turned out that normally we had one Shantila. It was a higher Brahmana who was doing the cooking. And we also had like a guy who would sweep the temple. Some guy from Bihar. Sometimes he'd roll the chapatis for Shantila. He was a good Japari Bihari seed chaparis and a group of Japari mowers. It turned out that some teleks, I think they call it tilliks. Message, telegram, telegram would came Prashantila that his mother was very ill. And he, without me knowing that he had left the temple Commander using his ordinary logic, not a visit sweeper who makes good chapati rolls. Good chapati never allowed to cook the chapatis. Brahman would cook them. That was okay. And have a bad Brahman that could, I mean roll or cut subjugees. But the cooking had to be done by Brahmin. But some other Tamil commander had sweeper cooking and probably just walked by the food and he looked at it and said it's not for salad. Which to me was very miraculous in his. Very hard to look at the food and know whether it was offered or not. This was offered, but the prophet said it wasn't accepted. He also said because the Japadis didn't have any ghee on it, you had to put a little ghee on the Japan for the Christianites. Put a little ghee on the Japan. So they came back and recorded the Prabhupada. And I was like overwhelmed how he knew. So then after that we, you know, we had to change the cook. We wouldn't let this damn cook anymore. When we were living there, the Prabhupada would walk sometimes he'd walk on the Victoria Memorial. All the big rich people would be walking there. He didn't walk there so much. It was very crowded. Somehow he didn't like the vibration, he preferred to walk. Sometimes he'd walk and he'd say hello and hurt. But then he preferred to walk at the Ganges side. There was a pathway alongside the Ganges. Princep Ghat, Outram Ghat, he would walk up and down alongside. He would tell us how when he was living in Calcutta, they were staying in Harrison Road and how he would go every day and bathe in the Ganges and how it was told that if he could bathe every day in the Ganges, he would be very healthy. So later in my effort, he told us if we could build a road for him to go to the Ganges every day in Bay, then he would live a long time. At that time. Now the Ganges right next to our ashram you can just walk to. At that time it was about a kilometer away, only a half a mile away from that, but so far and there were so many pieces of land he could never get a road all the way to the canton. It was very hard to reach there. And now by Prabhupada's mercy, so we take Prabhupada on his disappearance and on some special occasions to fulfill that desire, she would walk in the Ganges and he'd tell us and there's so many people there when the Ganges bathing every day. And he would say that even though the Ganges there was polluted by industrial waste, still it was somehow giving people good help. Then there was some other part there, some Elgin Gardens and he would walk there sometime he was saying all these parts like he said during the British time, everything was so neat and clean and well kept. This was all up and down, willing to ritzy part of the town and people that was really kept up, that's all the Britishers would want. Natives weren't allowed unless they were lords or somebody special. People, ordinary people were in a long way royalty. He said now it was just so all run down, weeds grown over and he was like so, you know, upset that they didn't have any civic sense and couldn't even keep up what was given to them. One time, Prabhupada, he really wanted to buy a place called Hinki House. Okay, I forget what's the name of was in the prime downtown area right next to the Great Eastern Hotel, opposite from the American Express lane. And it was just like it was in the main Dalhousie Square where they sit the government, general, post office, everything. This was the heart of the city. And they wanted six lakhs of rupees six hundred thousand rupees. Which is like nothing for the land. But then the very conservative buyer, this Maya. Probably be sure that we weren't getting cheated. Because that time there was a communist movement going on in Bengal. They were killing foreigners, killing businessmen. So I think these British owners of this property. They were left over from the British Raj, the Hin houses. And they wanted to get rid of it. So the Prabhupada said, get it, I'll buy it. He went and get it. But then they said no. Now we taking the offer off. We didn't accept it when we offered. But we're putting it out for tender. So then we had made a committee of wife members. To help us get this get a property. This prophet wanted to have a property in Calcutta. So then we decided that we were promised that the tender 8 lakhs. 800,000 rupees. Of course, in those days the exchange rate was 7.5 rupees per dollar. But now it's almost 50. 49.50. So 7 may have 15. That's 30 for 45. It's like more than six times. But still, even at today's market. A property in Dalhousie Square would cost millions of dollars. So it was already goodbye. Prabhupada was saying how he wanted to use the property. He would have a lunch program. Because everybody's there in the lunch. It's all up this place and have a big RG in the midday they have a lunch program where everybody could come and take prasadam. He was already planning out how he was going to use this for preaching. And all the people when they come to work at first door and see the deities. When they leave, they can see the deities. One day they take their lunch. It was very prestigious to have this place in the downtown of Calcutta. And then one of these people on our committee one thing about. We confided in this committee person. We're gonna tend ready glance. And he cheated us. And he told he was a member of the Bar Chamber of Commerce. And he told the officers of the Bar Chamber of Commerce. And they secretly entered a tender also for 8,25,000. And even Prabhupada said would pay the difference or pay more. But the British people said anyway, they beat you in the tender. So we'll get into that. Prabhupada was very upset, Very upset how we lost this other plan. Then he called us to bind and present. Thanks for that. So there was one time when the last one passed and was in Calcutta. At that time the Congress was the government. And one of the member, one of the members of Legislative assembly. One of the ministers of the government was Tusha Tarun, Kanti Ghosh. And he was home minister, which is like the number two recycling, the secretary, Secretary of State. He's in charge of all the police, all the. All the dealings, all the security, internal security relations with other states. He was a home minister number two in the government after the chief minister. So he came to see Shulkau, but. And he walked right into Prabhupada's room. And then Ramananda was there, I was there, I brought him in. And then he went behind Prabhupada's desk. Prabhupada sitting in his desk. He grabbed Prabhupada's feet and put his hand on Prabhupada's feet. So when he went to do that, the Brahmananda, you know, to protect Prabhupada, he was going to punch him as he thought, you know, touching Prabhupada's feet. He said, but Prabhupada is not. There's nothing you can do about it. And then, you know, I've been studying your devotees and I'm convinced that they were devotees in their previous life every year. Because they're just natural. How is it possible? So I'm convinced that my devotees are not previous life. And then Prabhupada, his eyes opened very wide, like, ready? Yes. And he looked to us and I have told you this and now it is confirmed, you were devotees in your previous life. They were discussing back and forth on this topic. Then after some time, Telekom Salya was there and she also, you know, Prabhupada told her, you are devoting your previous life. And she was not. It was hard for us to accept. He told that to me, you were a devotee in your previous life. And I said the Shila Prabhupada. It was so fun because like I was challenging what Prabhupada was saying. He was saying I was a devout event for this. Then he got short with me and he said, don't doubt the words in your spirituality. I am telling you, you are a devotee in your previous life, nor are you. And then one time from Calcutta we went to Panihati. This Panihati festival was coming and says that Panihati they came and they took Srila Prabhupada there. And they offered Srila Prabhupada this property, this number of religious state. It was a such and the banyan tree and the pulu heart that they preserve. Nichidada sat under the banyan tree. Begin mercy to Rakuten Das was preserved. It's a beautiful place. How many have seen that place? So the Prabhupada said. He said we give you this. And the Prabhupada saying that well, what we'll do is build a temple here. But we'll build it like, you know, with stilts, like columns so that people can still come in. The whole whatever available now in the ground floor would still be all over to the public would be covered. And above it we would have a temple. And then he said there would be regular should be boat service from Calcutta to Mayapur by speedboats. And they would stop at Honeyhati and have a little chiranoy breakfast. Then a flat rice in yogurt. And just opposite from this site there was a Grihastan right in Prabhupada. And he had his own temple in his house. And he had a Balaram Dil. And he said that Mahatma Gandhi had visited his house. Gandhiji and some other saints and different people visited. So he wanted Prabhupada to visit his house when he was a real Tiritha. So Prabhupada came and signed the Devis and he offered himself to Sarah the loaves. Then he went to see the temple of Raghavath Ravati Raghav Raghava Pandit. And that was really in broken condition. And Prabhupada wanted to get that. He said, take a picture of it and fix it up and show the picture of the original building. Now in the meantime, Samaj Bhagu this hitting Shambhu. They got that place and fixed it up. At that time Ra was seeing all these places and he wanted to say we should get this. Then he went to Watkalibadi. That was a little Tali temple. And the priest there gave Sri La but just handed them a Shali Gramshila. So then it was like we got a Shali grab Sheila. And the problem took that led to back to Mayapur. And he started the worship of Shalingram showed. He personally painted the eyes and the mouth with a little stick. And Chanda Kobi chanda. He showed how to make simple worship for Shaligam. Putting Tulsi armware over. So like this Danny told me to go and purchase Lord Chaitanya. I said that you can't have. You have to have a brass Chaitanya Mahab with the brass all that Krishna to have sh. So then we got the Present Lord Shamiya. And then he said, get a little bigger. When I was a little bit smaller, I couldn't. When I went purchased the wrong sides. The problem looked and was not so happy. Anyway, put it on a higher. Put him on a higher base. So it's higher than Rashtra. We have the leading installation of Lord Chaitanya. I should have called him. And then the paper mache lady that was there was moved to his room. And that's still in his bedroom now in his room Lord Ray turned Allah. Ayurveda tend to be a paper machine that's in harbor family. So we still have to make a boat service to Bayanpur to fulfill Prabhupada's sama. Maybe from here, from Florida we can find some jetpot that we've got rivers of language. I'd like to add something. Asking to speak on Prabhupada. This place Prabhupada class there they said you talk on Prabhupada. Today's Father's day, right? Oh really? Sri Ramaj is very humble. Asks him, are you 100% sure you can maintain sanyas? I'm not 100% sure. Are you 75% sure? So I'm not 75% sure. You're 50% sure? 50% sure? No, actually he said, so you come to Mayapur. And was it another one coming up? No. He first asked me to go to Vrinda, to Mayapur. And that was many months off. So then I said Shubhas Sig. Is it all right? You come to Ribbon Sam. This Naki had it. J. King. Jesus Sam. It's Ram. Ram. It's Ranga. He should try to endow himself with meekness, mercy, tolerance, pridelessness and respect for all living entities. The preaching of the name shall be perform with Kol and Kartal. You know what Cole means? Vijandra Cartel. Accompanied by favorable discussion and public lectures. All at the time time of chanting. One may dance in ecstasy. It's allowed. The singing of the glories of the Holy Name and dancing in ecstasy should correspond to the devotee's spontaneous emotion.
